Chapter 753: Chapter 753 [Extra] Money Doesn’t Matter
Sheng Ning’an couldn’t help but carefully reflect on her pattern of interaction with Xu Weiran, and it did indeed seem a bit like what the other person had said.
If there was a change in their relationship, it was probably after they went on vacation together.
It seemed that they indeed needed to spend more time together in the future.
After purchasing their items, they returned to the dorm to find that Shi Yue had also arrived.
This time she was alone; her parents were not in sight.
Ever since their fallout, Sheng Ning’an had been acting as if the other person didn’t exist. Their relationship hadn’t improved by the time vacation started.
However, after the New Year, it seemed as though the other person had forgotten the unpleasantness. Surprisingly, she took the initiative to greet Sheng Ning’an and Tian Yu, “Yu, An’an, you guys have arrived early. Oh, my mom asked me to bring some food for everyone. She made it herself, and I hope you won’t disdain it!”
After saying this, she proactively placed the items on the table belonging to Sheng Ning’an and Tian Yu.
As the saying goes, it’s hard to slap a smiling face.
Although Sheng Ning’an didn’t know what the other was up to, she still responded coolly, “Thank you!”
Shi Yue seemed not to notice the chill in her words, smiling before turning back to her own bed.
Xue Xian was the last to arrive. Everyone had finished their meal by the time she entered the dorm, lugging big and small bags with her.
“Why did you bring so much stuff?” Tian Yu hurried forward to help.
With a shy smile, Xue Xian said, “These are some New Year’s goods. My parents said they couldn’t finish everything and insisted I bring it all. Oh, and I also brought gifts for each of you.”
“How did everyone bring something? Did you all arrange this beforehand?” Tian Yu managed to say, somewhat unable to keep a straight face.
Sheng Ning’an had also brought gifts for everyone, crystal ornaments she had brought back from abroad.
The items weren’t particularly expensive, but they were novel; she had bought many when she had seen them abroad.
They were perfect as gifts for friends.
With four people in the dormitory, she was the only one who hadn’t prepared gifts for everyone. Would it make her look particularly stingy or thoughtless?
Mainly, it seemed there wasn’t much from her place worth bringing.
And she didn’t want to be burdened with a bunch of stuff on the train.
“Huh?” Xue Xian blinked, puzzled.
Arrange what?
With whom?
Tian Yu pointed to her table and said, “Yueyue and An’an both brought gifts for everyone. Yueyue brought snacks her mom made, and An’an brought back crystals from abroad. I’ve prepared nothing for anyone. How about I treat everyone to dinner tonight? Let’s consider it as our dorm’s first meal together this year. I’ll treat you all to hot pot, how about that?”
Only then did Xue Xian notice two bags of food and a small box of an ornament on her desk, realizing they must be the gifts from everyone. She then laughed and said, “There’s no need to go out specially. I didn’t bring much, just some local products from our place, nothing expensive.”
The money didn’t matter; it was the thought that counted.
It was just that everyone thought of it except for her. Tian Yu felt particularly embarrassed by her own oversight.
“No, I insist on treating. If you guys don’t go, then I won’t accept the gifts you brought.” Tian Yu asserted.
“Fine, if you want to treat, go ahead! Seeing how generous you are, you must have received a good amount of New Year’s money. We might as well help you spend a bit,” Xue Xian teased.
“Then it’s settled,” Tian Yu confirmed, then looked in Sheng Ning’an’s direction, “and let’s invite Mr. Xu as well.”
