In Leng Ruo Li’s system space, Jun Mo Han slowly opened his eyes and found himself in an unfamiliar environment.
Instantly, he sat up with a jolt and carefully examined everything in the room.
Strange, he hadn’t seen any of these things before. What was the white tube inserted into the back of his hand? He was utterly bewildered, wondering what kind of place this was.
Curiously, he reached out to touch a desk lamp beside him and accidentally knocked it to the floor. Fortunately, it didn’t break, but it woke Leng Ruo Li, who was sleeping on the sofa. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Jun Mo Han looking lost and immediately greeted him, “Jun Mo Han, you’re awake!”
Leng Ruo Li looked at him and asked with concern.
Hearing this, Jun Mo Han nodded.
“Li’er, what is this place? Why haven’t I seen any of the things here?”
Jun Mo Han’s long, beautiful violet eyes scanned the room repeatedly, but everything remained unfamiliar and bewildering.
“This is what you usually call the Qian Kun Bag,” Leng Ruo Li said with a smile.
“I never imagined the Qian Kun Bag could hold a person. It’s truly astonishing. And why haven’t I seen any of the things in this room?” Jun Mo Han asked in surprise.
“Actually, this place isn’t called the Qian Kun Bag. It’s my personal space. Everything here was brought from another advanced civilization,” Leng Ruo Li explained calmly with a faint smile.
“Another advanced civilization? Are you not the real Leng Ruo Li?” Jun Mo Han asked, full of doubt.
He had suspected many times that the Leng Ruo Li before him wasn’t the real one. Based on the information he had gathered, the previous Leng Ruo Li was an intellectually disabled young lady. How could she suddenly become so intelligent, not only proficient in martial arts and arts but also possessing extraordinary medical skills? The difference was too vast.
“Yes, I’m not the real Leng Ruo Li. In my past life, I was a special agent, somewhat like an assassin in your era’s organizations. However, I was a righteous killer, primarily eliminating villains, codenamed Nightingale. During a mission, I was killed by a bomb, and then my soul transmigrated and reincarnated into the body of Leng Ruo Li in this timeline,” Leng Ruo Li explained, looking at Jun Mo Han.
“What happened to the previous Leng Ruo Li?” Jun Mo Han asked again.
“Before I transmigrated into this body, she had already been harmed to death by Aunt Liu,” Leng Ruo Li said with a hint of sadness in her voice.
“Alas, if General Leng knew you weren’t his biological daughter, how heartbroken would he be?” Jun Mo Han sighed after hearing Leng Ruo Li’s words.
“Therefore, I implore you not to tell him for now. Also, I need you to promise me that you won’t reveal the secret of my personal space. Since I have occupied his daughter’s body, I will filial piety to him on behalf of the original host for the rest of my life,” Leng Ruo Li sighed.
Leng Ruo Li’s past life was as an orphan, raised by a kind foster father. After she transmigrated to this timeline, the original host’s father looked exactly like her foster father in her past life. Most importantly, he doted on her just as her foster father had, allowing her to experience the warmth of paternal love again in this unfamiliar place.
She truly couldn’t bear to tell Leng Jin Yu that the original host had died.
Please don’t blame her for being selfish; she genuinely didn’t want Leng Jin Yu to know his biological daughter was dead and create a distance between them.
“Don’t worry, Li’er. If you don’t tell him, I won’t. General Leng has had a rather difficult life. In his youth, he fought with all his might to help my father establish the empire. Later, due to the unrest on the border, Leng Ruo Li had to guard the frontier for years, seeing little of his wife. Before reaching middle age, he then suffered the pain of losing his wife and child, and now his daughter. How could he bear it?”
Jun Mo Han recounted Leng Jin Yu’s tragic experiences over the past twenty-odd years to Leng Ruo Li with a heavy heart.
Hearing this, Leng Ruo Li was stunned.
“Jun Mo Han, what did you mean just now when you said my father suffered the pain of losing his wife and child? Did Leng Jin Yu and Xia Wan’er have another son?” Leng Ruo Li asked, her face filled with confusion.
“Yes! You have an elder brother above you. Did no one tell you?” Jun Mo Han said, astonished.
“I really don’t know! No one has ever told me about this,” Leng Ruo Li said, completely bewildered by Jun Mo Han’s words.
“Before Leng Jin Yu and Xia Wan’er had the original owner of your body, they had a son. Not long after Xia Wan’er died in childbirth, the border became chaotic again. Leng Jin Yu urgently needed to lead troops to guard the frontier, so he entrusted his son and daughter to your paternal grandmother’s care. However, your grandmother passed away inexplicably not long after. Your siblings could only be cared for by the household servants. Then, for some reason, Aunt Liu said she was taking you to a temple to pray for Leng Jin Yu. Because your brother was mischievous, he ran off. Your father rushed back from the border and searched the entire capital, as well as the area around the temple, but couldn’t find your brother. Thus, your brother went missing. I only found out about these matters later after making inquiries.”
Jun Mo Han told Leng Ruo Li everything he knew.
“This must be the work of that Liu Ruyi again. I don’t know why Leng Jin Yu wants to keep her alive,” Leng Ruo Li said with a hint of anger in her voice.
As she spoke, Jun Mo Han slightly curved his lips and smiled helplessly.
“Please don’t blame your father for not killing Liu Ruyi, even though she has harmed you multiple times. I suspect he is doing this to help my father find the real Imperial Seal. And Liu Ruyi might hold the secret to the true Imperial Seal,” Jun Mo Han said, revealing a shocking piece of information.
“What? You’re saying the Imperial Seal that Father is currently using is fake?” Leng Ruo Li’s eyes widened as she looked at Jun Mo Han.
Hearing this, Jun Mo Han nodded.
“Yes, I only learned about it incidentally when I overheard a conversation between my father and General Leng when I was a child. I discovered that the Imperial Seal my father is currently using is actually fake,” Jun Mo Han said, astonishingly.
“Heavens! If this matter leaks out, the court of Tianwu Kingdom will surely descend into chaos. Those ambitious individuals will seize upon it. It’s no wonder my father won’t speak of it.”
Jun Mo Han’s words greatly shocked Leng Ruo Li.
“Yes, that’s why Leng Jin Yu has been tolerating Liu Ruyi,” Jun Mo Han said with a slight nod.
“Then, does Liu Ruyi have the Imperial Seal on her?” Leng Ruo Li asked again, her face full of confusion.
“I suspect the real Imperial Seal is not on her, but she definitely has information on how to find it,” Jun Mo Han added.
