Chapter 298 Tracking the Missing Child's Whereabouts

"Why would it have so many heads?"

Even though Leng Ruoli said so, the innkeeper was still very scared.

"That's a phantom technique," Jun Mosai kindly answered for Leng Ruoli.

However, no matter how much Leng Ruoli tried to persuade him, the innkeeper refused to come out. The main reason was that the loud noise had frightened him greatly, but he didn't have the courage to watch the entire fight between the Jiao Mo and Leng Ruoli. He was so scared he almost fainted.

Later, Leng Ruoli stopped bothering him and went up to the third floor to sleep with Jun Mohan.

However, Leng Ruoli and Jun Mohan were unaware that just as they entered the inn, over a dozen black-clothed men quickly ran into an alley and broke into farming households with children, stealing them.

After a long while, when the innkeeper finally heard no more movement outside, he cautiously poked his head out to glance towards the entrance. With that one glance, he saw on the rooftops of the opposite street, the shoulders of three masked black-clothed men, each carrying a sleeping child.

Upon seeing this, he froze. Snapping back to reality, he immediately crawled out from under the counter of the cash register, bolted upstairs, and arrived outside Leng Ruoli and Jun Mohan's room.

At this moment, Jun Mohan was asking Leng Ruoli a question.

"Lier, how did you manage to put that sulfuric acid and time bomb inside the Jiao Mo's belly just now?"

"When the Jiao Mo lunged at me, I discovered a secret. The part where the Jiao Mo's back was against was actually a large mouth leading into its belly. So, on impulse, I took a can of concentrated sulfuric acid and a time bomb from my space and threw them into that large mouth. Haha..." Leng Ruoli revealed the secret she had discovered about the Jiao Mo.

Just then, the door to Leng Ruoli and Jun Mosai's room was suddenly knocked on.

"Mis... Miss, Mas... Master, something terrible has happened. Something big is about to occur," the innkeeper said, panting heavily.

Upon hearing this, Leng Ruoli and Jun Mohan frowned slightly.

Then, Leng Ruoli stood up and walked to open the door. Even Yin Chen and the others, upon hearing the innkeeper's knocking, also came out.

"Boss, what happened now? You're in such a rush," Leng Ruoli asked with a face full of confusion.

"Miss, I... I saw those masked black-clothed men who were stealing children downstairs," the innkeeper said after taking a deep breath.

"Where did you see them? And in which direction did they go?"

Leng Ruoli's brows furrowed even tighter as she asked. They had just dealt with the Jiao Mo, and now a group of child snatchers had appeared. It seemed they wouldn't be getting a peaceful night's sleep.

"Miss, I saw them at the inn's entrance. They should be heading towards the south of the small town now," the innkeeper said with a worried expression.

Those children were the future of their North Pass town. If all the children in the town were stolen, the parents who lost their children would surely go mad.

He had been a father himself once and naturally knew the pain of losing a child. Therefore, when he saw those children being stolen by several masked black-clothed men, he hurried to find Leng Ruoli and the others, who might be able to help the town's residents find their children.

"Alright, Boss. Since we've encountered this, we'll help the residents of North Pass town retrieve these children," Leng Ruoli said sternly.

Then, Leng Ruoli and Jun Mohan, along with Yin Chen and the other four, headed south out of the small town.

They chased all the way out of the small town, but along the way, they didn't see any of the masked black-clothed men the innkeeper had mentioned.

"Jun Mohan, can you smell any peculiar scents along this path?" Leng Ruoli asked, her eyes flashing.

"No. Ever since my wolf poison was resolved, my sense of smell has returned to that of an ordinary person," Jun Mohan replied indifferently.

"Alas, then we can only track them slowly," Leng Ruoli suddenly felt a headache. This method of finding people was too slow.

Just then, a voice from the system space called out to Leng Ruoli.

"Master, let me out. I'll help you track those bad guys. My sense of smell is much keener than those wolves," the little snow fox said triumphantly.

"Really, little snow fox? Can you help me find the whereabouts of those children?" Leng Ruoli asked with some surprise.

"Let me try. When I was on Tianyun Mountain, I relied on my keen sense of smell to follow you all the way," the little snow fox said.

"Okay, I'll let you out right away," Leng Ruoli readily agreed to the little snow fox.

Immediately, she walked to a patch of messy grass and moved the little snow fox out of her space. The little snow fox was extremely excited upon coming out, doing a few happy circles in front of Leng Ruoli.

"Alright, little snow fox, I let you out to help me find the children, not to play," Leng Ruoli reminded her.

"Yes, Master. I will go find them for you now," the little snow fox replied obediently.

Then, it lowered its head and sniffed around the road. Leng Ruoli, along with Jun Mohan and the others, followed closely behind the little snow fox.

A moment later, the little snow fox led Leng Ruoli and the others to a poplar forest south of the town.

"Master, if my nose isn't mistaken, those children are just ahead. You must be careful when you go in. Don't startle them," the little snow fox admonished in an old, mature tone.

Leng Ruoli replied speechlessly, "I know!"

This was because she had already heard the cries of children not far away.

As she spoke, Leng Ruoli lightly waved her sleeve and put the little snow fox back into her system space.

"Jun Mohan, those children who were stolen should be just ahead," Leng Ruoli said.

Jun Mohan nodded.

"Yes, I can hear the children crying too."

Next, the group cautiously approached the house where the children were hidden. At this moment, Leng Ruoli suddenly flew to the treetop of a nearby poplar tree and peered into the manor. Seeing her action, Jun Mohan followed behind her and also flew up the poplar tree.

She discovered it was a rather large and very hidden manor, with extremely tight security. Guards were stationed every two to three meters. She guessed that every exit would be heavily guarded. To speed up the rescue, Leng Ruoli suddenly had an idea.

"Jun Mohan, this manor is quite large. Let's split into three groups and infiltrate the manor from three different directions," Leng Ruoli suggested.

"That's a good plan," Jun Mohan agreed.

Then, the two of them flew down from the tree.

Leng Ruoli arranged the personnel and then quietly snuck into the manor.
