Chapter 550 Amnesia?

"Okay, you make it for me, the lamb you make is delicious."

Jin Ye nodded, his expression unchanged.

Su Ding's heart skipped a beat, she was shocked. Jin Ye's dislike for meat was a very private matter, and no one knew except Xiao Xi and herself.

She also rarely cooked lamb, so Jin Ye's words made her suspicious.

But the man in front of her was indeed Jin Ye. Could it be that people look alike? But it was too similar, even their voices were very alike.

Or did Jin Ye have amnesia?

This was too absurd; such a thing actually happened to her.

Su Ding suppressed her surprise and continued, "Then I'll call Aunt Zhang now to prepare the ingredients."

Saying so, she called home.

After the call, Su Ding glanced at Jin Ye in the driver's seat and said again, "Did you bring gifts for the children when you came back?"

Upon hearing this, Jin Ye suddenly turned to look at Su Ding.

"Of course I did, do I need to ask?"

Jin Ye curled his lips into a smile of indescribable meaning, "It's in the suitcase in the trunk. I'll give it to them when we get back."

Su Ding's heart leaped. In that instant, she suddenly felt a little intimidated by Jin Ye's gaze.

Jin Ye had a cold personality and didn't talk much.

But his cold demeanor was different from the one in front of her; she couldn't quite articulate the difference.

Once she started suspecting, the person in front of her seemed more and more strange.

Su Ding pursed her lips, looked at Jin Ye, and said softly, "I was just afraid you'd forget, otherwise the children would be sad."

"I won't forget. I'm working hard outside, and the only ones I miss are you all."

Jin Ye smiled and said, "How have you been lately? Has the movie shooting gone smoothly?"

"Yes, although it's been a while since I acted, I'm still very familiar with the camera."

Su Ding smiled. The happiest part of this period was probably filming.

Jin Ye had always said she was suited for the acting profession and supported her return to the entertainment industry. However, she was traumatized by past events and wouldn't have dared to try again if Xiao Yuan hadn't given her a push. But once she truly started, she found that she adapted quite quickly.

"How is your mother? Is she still arguing with your father?"

Su Ding asked casually. On Jin Ye's phone call last time, she learned that Zhao Qin and Jin He were in a cold war at home.

Jin Ye clearly hesitated for a moment before saying, "I'll go back tomorrow to see. My mother hasn't called me recently."

"Yes, you should go back and see them now that you're back."

Su Ding said nothing more and closed her eyes to rest.

However, her mind kept oscillating between dismissing her suspicions and continuing to suspect. Did Jin Ye really have a problem?

Half an hour later, the car stopped.

Jin Ye and Su Ding returned home. When the three children saw Jin Ye, they cheered with excitement. Su Xiao Rui even threw herself into Jin Ye's arms.

Seeing the little girl pounce, Jin Ye was stunned at first, but then he reached out and scooped Su Xiao Rui up, holding her tightly.

"Daddy! Daddy! Daddy! You're finally back!"

"Xiao Rui missed you so much."

Jin Ye felt Su Xiao Rui nuzzle against his face, and his heart softened. He smiled and stroked the little girl's hair, "Daddy missed you too."

Then, he opened the suitcase and took out gifts for each of the three children.

The children's faces were filled with excited smiles upon receiving their gifts, "Long live Daddy! Long live Daddy!"

Su Ding watched this scene and also wore a gentle smile.

She met Jin Ye's eyes, and what was supposed to be a natural and harmonious moment was broken when Jin Ye averted his gaze the moment Su Ding looked at him.

Su Ding frowned slightly, recalling her suspicions from the afternoon, and her calm heart rippled again.

Su Ding cooked dinner. While she was busy in the kitchen, she saw Jin Ye playing with the children and kept telling herself that she was probably overthinking things.

But it wasn't until dinner.

Su Ding noticed that Jin Ye kept unconsciously picking up lamb and even told the children, "This lamb is exceptionally delicious today."

"Delicious!"

Su Xiao Rui said with a giggle, while Jin Xiao Xi exclaimed in surprise, "Dad, why do you suddenly like lamb?"

Jin Ye was clearly caught off guard by the question and suddenly froze.

"Dad has always loved it, why are you so surprised, Xiao Xi?"

He himself was a little confused.

Jin Xiao Xi burst out laughing, "Dad, you're teasing me. You clearly don't like meat."

Jin Ye's expression flickered with panic for a moment, then he smiled again, "I like it now."

He steered the conversation away, but his heart also subtly sensed something. He subconsciously glanced at Su Ding, who was lowering her head to eat, seemingly lost in thought.

After dinner.

Su Ding asked the maid to clean up and went upstairs herself to wash up in the bathroom.

Before long, Jin Ye also came upstairs.

He stood by Su Ding but remained silent for a long time.

Su Ding noticed him in the mirror but didn't know what to say.

Regarding the probing during dinner, Jin Ye must have noticed. She didn't know what he was thinking, and she herself didn't know what she was doing.

"Jin Ye, have you noticed that you've changed since you came back this time?"

Su Ding broke the long silence, unable to hold back any longer.

Jin Ye frowned, his expression changing slightly, but he quickly regained his composure. He said, "I don't know what you're thinking. What I can tell you is that I was attacked abroad a few days ago, and I suffered a severe head injury. The doctor said my memory might be confused."

He paused and added, "I didn't feel anything unusual at first, but after you said that today, I realized there might indeed be some after-effects."

Jin Ye gave a wry smile. He stood behind Su Ding but didn't get closer.

"If the current me makes you feel like a stranger, I apologize. But I want to tell you that my love for you and the children hasn't changed."

Hearing the man's sincere words from behind, Su Ding felt a soft spot in her heart being fiercely prodded. She turned to look at Jin Ye.

Jin Ye just stood there, looking at her quietly.

Different. Although his gaze was tender, it was still different. The feeling was not the same.

Su Ding hesitated for a few seconds before walking over and hugging him, "Why didn't you tell me you were hurt?"

She asked softly, her voice full of concern.

Jin Ye looked at the woman in his arms, his eyes filled with deep complexity. He explained in a low voice, "I was afraid you'd worry. I'm fine now."

He gently hugged Su Ding and they sat down on the bed.

Su Ding remembered something and suddenly looked up, "Let me see your wound."

Saying so, she stood up to check.

Indeed, she found a scar on the back of Jin Ye's head. It looked like it had been injured not long ago, and the scar was not deep.

Su Ding touched it gently, her brow furrowed, and asked worriedly, "Besides memory confusion, are there any other side effects?"

"No, I'll go back and get it checked out someday."

Jin Ye smiled and held Su Ding's hand, "It's been a long time. Why don't we rest early?"

Su Ding looked into his eyes and a sense of awkwardness inexplicably arose in her heart.

But thinking of his injury, she couldn't bring herself to refuse.

The lights were turned off, and Su Ding lay on the bed, watching the man's figure gradually approaching her. The strange feeling in her heart grew stronger.

Until Jin Ye's hand touched her hair.
