Chapter 593 Brother of the Same Clan

Jin Ye found himself a little confused, but after a moment of careful consideration, he seemed to understand.

"That's good then."

The car continued on its way, and Su Ding began contacting Zhang Hou, instructing him to keep a close eye on Jiang Jiayi and investigate the current situation of the person behind her, Wen Min.

After finishing these arrangements, she received a call from Xiao Yuan.

The moment she answered, Xiao Yuan's energetic voice flooded in, "Dingding, when are you coming back to work? Countless dramas, endorsement offers, and reality shows are flooding in. Many of these are from my friends in the industry, and I just can't refuse them all."

Su Ding could tell from Xiao Yuan's voice just how busy she was.

It was true. After the recent whitewashing incident concluded, Su Ding had instantly become a highly sought-after star. Many people wanted to capitalize on her popularity, and her fans were eagerly anticipating her comeback. Xiao Yuan was simply overwhelmed.

Su Ding had also made up her mind during that time: she was going to make a comeback.

The dirty water that had been splashed on her was finally washed away, and she could finally stand in the public eye with dignity. Since some people didn't want her to do well, she was determined to thrive.

"Alright, alright, I know you've been working hard. I still have some things to handle. Once I'm done, I'll officially accept your leadership..."

Before Su Ding could finish, she heard Xiao Yuan let out a series of wails.

"You can't be so heartless! I can't handle this anymore... Dingding, I'm begging you, at least accept a few endorsements! Otherwise, my friends will really think I've become snobbish and I'm looking down on them."

Listening to Xiao Yuan's lament, Su Ding could vividly imagine how excited she would be if she were present.

It was understandable. When she had first returned to the country, Xiao Yuan had shamelessly asked many of her old friends for help. Now that Su Ding had regained her popularity, Xiao Yuan couldn't just turn her back on them. Besides, endorsements didn't take up too much time.

Su Ding eventually agreed.

After ending the call with Xiao Yuan, Su Ding couldn't help but laugh.

Jin Ye knew this was genuine happiness, as if the weight on her shoulders had vanished.

"Are you going home, or are you coming with me to see Jin Ling?"

As they reached a fork in the road, Jin Ye asked Su Ding, "I spoke to my father in the study about this. He said he would call Grandpa to clarify things, and he also wants to meet Jin Ling. However, before that, Jin Ling and I must reach an agreement of peaceful coexistence."

"Yes... let's go."

Su Ding hesitated for a moment before making her decision. She wanted to meet this younger brother-in-law who had impersonated Jin Ye and pretended to be her husband for a period. Although it felt a bit awkward, she had to face the future.

"Okay."

Jin Ye immediately started the car and headed towards their destination.

Forty minutes later, the car arrived at a house in the suburbs. After parking, Jin Ye stepped forward and knocked on the door. Soon, someone emerged.

Upon seeing Jin Ye, the person respectfully called out, "Mr. Jin."

Then, seeing Su Ding, they paused for a moment before quickly calling out, "Miss Su."

"How is he?"

Jin Ye nodded and entered the house with Su Ding. Inside, there were three men in suits, who were clearly bodyguards. They all greeted them.

"Everything is normal, but he specifically asked to see you," the man said.

Jin Ye nodded. "Then I will see him. Please open the door."

"Yes."

As the door was opened, Jin Ye and Su Ding stepped into the bedroom together. Jin Ye felt a strange sensation upon entering, as he had been imprisoned here by Jin Ling for several days before. Now, with the tables turned, it was Jin Ling's turn.

In the room, Jin Ling was sitting by the window, looking out at the road outside. Hearing the sound, he didn't turn around immediately. After a few seconds, he slowly turned around, his gaze shifting between Jin Ye and Su Ding, a slight smile playing on his lips.

"The couple has arrived. It seems you're here to interrogate me?" Jin Ling chuckled, showing no signs of tension or fear.

At that moment, Su Ding truly felt the aura of the Jin family. Although their personalities differed, they indeed had similarities.

Jin Ye did not answer the question. Instead, he took a copy of a paternity test report from his pocket and placed it in front of Jin Ling.

"Take a look," Jin Ye said calmly.

Jin Ling glanced at the words on the document and then laughed. "Twin brothers, right?"

Jin Ye was not surprised and nodded.

"Now, tell me, what exactly is going on?"

Seeing Jin Ye's consistently calm demeanor, Jin Ling's expression shifted to one of displeasure. He retorted, "Why do you think I would tell you just because you ask?"

"Because you asked to see me," Jin Ye stated directly.

Jin Ling was momentarily speechless. It was true that he had specifically requested to see Jin Ye, but why was Jin Ye so entitled? He glared at Jin Ye with resentment and suddenly fell silent.

Seeing his sudden resistance and passive attitude, Jin Ye frowned, about to say something. Su Ding patted his hand, then looked directly at Jin Ling and asked, "Are you jealous of Jin Ye?"

"Ridiculous! Why would I be jealous of him!" Jin Ling's expression suddenly turned sharp, and he shouted angrily.

Su Ding remained unfazed and continued, "Then why did you want to replace him? If it wasn't jealousy, why would you live his life?"

Jin Ling wanted to retort but felt he had walked into her trap. Su Ding, however, was not in a hurry and continued, "Do you resent your parents because they never accompanied you since childhood? Yet they only ever loved your brother, Jin Ye, so you want to take back what you feel is yours."

"I didn't!" Jin Ling retorted angrily. "You know nothing! Don't try to guess my intentions!"

"Then what exactly do you want to do?" Su Ding pressed on. "You're just jealous, otherwise, why else?"

These words reignited Jin Ling's anger. His expression turned grim, and he clenched his fists, saying coldly, "Don't provoke me!"

Su Ding smiled but said nothing further.

At this opportune moment, Jin Ye picked up the conversation. "So, what is it you wanted to discuss with me today?"

"Let me out," Jin Ling stated directly, his tone sharp and cold.

Jin Ye looked at him, remaining silent for a few seconds before asking, "You want to leave Jiang City?"

"What business is it of yours," Jin Ling shot back directly.

"It is indeed my business. Mom and Dad want to see you, but before we meet, I need to understand you clearly," Jin Ye said.

Jin Ling suddenly laughed. "They want to see me, so they can? I refuse to see them."

Jin Ye looked at the defiant Jin Ling before him and suddenly felt like he was dealing with a petulant child. He had a headache.

Unexpectedly, Su Ding then said, "Fine, then don't meet them. You can go."

With those words, both men were stunned.

Jin Ye: Am I really going to let him go?

Jin Ling: You're going to let me leave?
