Chapter 953: Chapter 953: A Madman’s Idea
"You want to build an Intelligent System Platform?"
Wang Jin’er looked at Li Feng in shock: "Do you know what you’re talking about?"
Li Feng’s ambition was really too big.
Building an Intelligent System Platform isn’t something you can just develop because you want to.
Currently, there are only two computer systems in the international market, the W system and the U system, with the W system being the most widespread. It’s safe to say that the vast majority of computers and laptops worldwide use the W system.
Similarly, in the past decade, the smartphone systems have also been dominated by two giants, namely Apple and Android. Apple itself created a closed-loop ecosystem, although its users are far fewer compared to the open-source Android.
But with its unique architecture and ecosystem, it’s living quite comfortably.
Daring to build a self-owned system, it’s not that no one has thought about it, but the key technologies and the existing market are almost insurmountable.
If it were ten years ago, there might have been a chance, but now, whether on computers or mobile phones, these major systems have almost monopolized the market.
The system platform itself is not terrifying; the key is the ecosystem series derived from these major systems. In the current framework, unless something catastrophic happens, getting people to change systems is nearly impossible.
After all, it involves every aspect.
A pull on one part affects the whole.
As for the computer platform, it’s even more dominated by one because, while the U system is open source, if you don’t have enough technical strength, you simply can’t handle the U system.
"You think it’s impossible?"
Li Feng looked at the rather shaken Wang Jin’er.
Wang Jin’er bit her lip. Despite the continuous surprises Li Feng had given her since they met, Wang Jin’er really couldn’t see any hope.
"Li Feng, we currently have nothing, not even a single technical person under us. Are you planning to start from scratch?"
"Moreover, developing a system is an unbelievably complex project. You can’t just decide on a whim; the investment alone would be in the hundreds of billions."
"If it were just a matter of money, it’d be fine, but the key question is, even if you do develop it, who would use it?"
"Now, around the world, including our country, the computer systems in use are all W systems, and it’s been nearly thirty years. The W system can be said to be deeply rooted."
"Not counting individuals, even enterprises and government departments all use the W system. This massive user base means any small change affects everything."
"Not to mention the various programs running on the W system; how could you possibly compete against a thirty-year-old dominant W system with a newly developed platform?"
"And the situation is the same for smartphones; the market has matured, and it’s not that no one wants to create a new platform. As far as I know, Yan Country’s largest Da Hua Group has secretly developed its own Qilin system."
"But even now, they are still using Android. Why?"
"You see, while Da Hua Group is already in a dominant position in the smartphone and related communications domains, they still haven’t launched their own system."
"It’s not that they don’t want to, but they can’t."
"Firstly, the launch of a new system brings challenges to the ecosystem. After all, you can’t have a system without running applications, yet most apps today are developed on these two major frameworks."
"Secondly, the market is now a battleground between two companies, which have divided the market and carved out their respective territories. Entering rashly would only provoke attacks from both."
"Taking such actions would set off a domino effect with consequences too disastrous to bear."
Wang Jin’er’s mind was crystal clear. Building an Intelligent System Platform seemed like a trap.
"Li Feng, our group is just starting; there are too many things to take care of. Maybe we should just forget about this."
Li Feng looked at Wang Jin’er who was trying to persuade him.
"I know everything you’ve said."
"And you still want to do it?" Wang Jin’er looked at Li Feng: "What for?"
Li Feng curled his lips.
"Got plenty of money, feeling capricious."
Wang Jin’er stared blankly and then shot a glance at Li Feng’s slightly annoying face: "I’m talking seriously here."
Li Feng looked at Wang Jin’er, biting her lip, and lifted her from his knee to place her on the sofa next to him.
Wang Jin’er was stunned for a moment, thinking Li Feng was angry.
Li Feng sat up straight and looked seriously at Wang Jin’er: "President Wang, as the chairman of the New Century Group, I’m seriously speaking with you."
"I am not joking with you. The Intelligent System Platform will be one of the core industries of the New Century Group."
"Moreover, it’s not as if we have nothing."
"Azure Dragon is a Smart AI based on the core of the U open-source system, and it was born even earlier than you."
"As for Azure Dragon’s origins, I’m not at liberty to disclose much, but building two systems for both computer and mobile platforms based on Azure Dragon isn’t impossible."
"We just need enough computer engineers to develop on the Azure Dragon framework, and potentially in less than a year, the Azure Dragon Intelligent Platform could be developed."
Wang Jin’er looked at Li Feng, who appeared quite earnest.
"Although a system platform is important, the users and ecosystem based on the platform are even more crucial."
"How do you plan to compete with systems that have dominated for years?"
"After all, with fewer users, no one’s going to develop related programs. Without a wealth of applications, why would users choose you?"
Li Feng leaned back on the sofa, unfazed by Wang Jin’er’s descriptions.
"Hey, let me formally introduce myself—standing before you is a world-class legendary hacker."
Wang Jin’er blinked.
"And so?"
"I can hack into anything I want."
"You’re crazy."
Wang Jin’er rolled her eyes. If Li Feng really dared to do that, he would surely become the public enemy.
After all, computers and phones are indispensable electronic products that everyone uses daily and keeps close.
Any issue with one’s phone or computer would be a disaster of overwhelming proportions.
"Don’t worry, I won’t act in our country; finding an unlucky target is enough. Then, in the name of information security, how likely do you think it is that people will switch systems?"
"This."
"Moreover, it seems you’ve forgotten that although our country may not be the world’s leader in communications equipment and electronics, we’re already among the world’s top."
"We’re not lacking in any area, we just need an opportunity. Much like a domino effect, what’s needed is for the first domino to be pushed over."
