Chapter 31: Defeat

Chapter 31: Defeat

100 Clones, 100 firearms, and 100 magazines were emptied simultaneously.

Under the deluge of 8,000 bullets, in just 20 seconds, more than 100 Monster Birds that had charged forward, 20 of them had fallen.

Another 40 Monster Birds had large areas of damage on their bodies or wings, and boiling liquid began to flow out, then rapidly froze.

The power of firearms was indeed immense!

Tom ’s spirits lifted, and he immediately issued an order. The 100 Clones, as if one person, uniformly detached their empty magazines, tucked them into their waists, and simultaneously drew out full magazines, inserted them into their firearms, and pulled the trigger again.

Tongues of flame once again burst from the muzzles.

However, at this moment, the Clones’ actions were no longer uniform.

Because the defensive crisis here had been temporarily resolved, the Clones had to disperse to act as a mobile unit, going wherever there was danger to provide support.

For a time, in the battlefield, in addition to the cold glint of melee weapons, there were also occasional flashes of fire from hot weapons.

Wherever the melee weapon Clones couldn’t hold on, in the past, Tom would have no choice but to use lives to hold the line, while urgently deploying reserve troops from the standby team.

But now it was different.

Wherever danger appeared, a dozen or so firearm Clones would immediately rush over, firing dozens or hundreds of bullets in a burst, and several Monster Birds would be killed instantly, immediately relieving the pressure.

Wherever the front line was about to be breached, in the past, Tom , in addition to using lives to hold the line, also had to transfer Clones from other less pressured defensive lines, but this would trigger a chain reaction, making the entire front line extremely tense and difficult to manage.

But now it was different!

With firearm Clones, sending dozens of guns over could block even the fiercest charge.

With the addition of these 100 guns, the entire battlefield situation at the Main Base front line was almost completely transformed.

Tom was filled with relief.

But besides relief, Tom also felt a sense of urgency.

Firearms were easy to use, but there were too few of them! And too few bullets!

There were only 80,000 bullets in total, and if fired at full capacity, they would be used up in just a few minutes.

Tom ’s attention was once again focused on the firearm factory.

A total of 1,500 Clones worked in this factory.

Tom knew that he could no longer transfer Clones to supplement this area.

The reason was simple: apart from the 16,000 Clones at the front line, he only had 5,000 deployable Clones left.

They also had to undertake basic tasks such as food production, power supply, steel production, railway transportation, and mineral extraction, so not a single person could be spared.

But it didn’t matter.

Now, under Tom ’s extremely high efficiency, the firearm factory had completely finished its initial assembly, debugging, and trial production.

After fine-tuning over 10,000 production lines, this entire firearm production line could now operate at maximum efficiency!

As a result, its output surged at a visible rate.

Originally, the parts transported on the conveyor belts were sparse, like a small stream that often ran dry.

But now, no matter which conveyor belt, no matter what kind of part, all were densely packed, almost filling the entire conveyor belt, continuous and never breaking, like a small stream that had flooded and directly evolved into a river!

Not only did the production efficiency of parts greatly improve, but the manual operation speed of the Clones also greatly increased.

Because during the previous trial production, they had become more and more skilled after a period of adaptation.

Their experience was equivalent to Tom ’s experience, which in turn was equivalent to all Clones having experience.

Therefore, every operating skill would instantly synchronize to all Clones, and every operating experience would immediately be known by everyone.

Under these circumstances, the Clones’ operations became faster and their coordination became more refined. In fact, these Clones seemed to have merged with the production line, no longer distinguishable from it.

It seemed the machines had become part of them, or perhaps, they had become part of the machines!

Not only that, even if they worked continuously for 8 hours and needed a temporary break, the replacing Clones could immediately integrate into this system without any delay or stagnation!

Thus, yesterday, a full day only produced 100 firearms, but today, it was only eight in the morning, and 200 firearms had already been produced!

Today’s output is expected to exceed 700 units!

This was also because Tom deliberately suppressed the firearm production speed.

The reason for the suppression was that Tom had allocated more resources to the bullet and magazine production lines.

As a result, bullet production surged even more terrifyingly than firearms.

Yesterday, only 80,000 bullets were produced in a day, but today, in just eight hours, 1 million bullets were produced!

And with subsequent fine-tuning, bullet production was still increasing, with an estimated total daily bullet production of 3.5 million today!

With the surge in firearm and bullet production, the trucks responsible for transportation finally became busy.

Boxes of firearms and boxes of bullets were loaded onto their beds. The trucks sped to the front line, and numerous Clones immediately lined up neatly to retrieve the firearms and ammunition.

A large number of melee weapon Clones withdrew from the front line. But before the Monster Birds could charge forward, an almost endless stream of bullets came flying.

The Clones no longer worried about the lack of bullets.

As long as there was an enemy ahead, they would first pull the trigger and empty an 80-round magazine.

After emptying it, they would immediately replace it with a new magazine. When the magazines were used up, they would take out a plate of bullets, press them into the magazine, and continue firing.

Each Clone carried 20 plates of bullets in addition to three magazines, meaning one Clone could carry 1,520 bullets!

Including their armor, their total load reached about 60 kilograms. But it didn’t matter, as Loshen Star’s gravity was low, the total weight was only 4.8 kilograms.

The bullet torrent continued to impact the front, and in the rear, carload after carload of bullets were transported every moment.

Don’t worry about accuracy, just shoot openly, shoot hard!

With a total of 1,000 firearms and an almost unlimited supply of bullets, the battle situation at the Main Base front line underwent a dramatic change.

The originally precarious front line not only stabilized but began to advance.

The Monster Birds charged one after another, but no matter how many came, they were all killed by the bullet torrent.

Thus, in just one day, all tens of thousands of Monster Birds besieging the Main Base were killed, not one left.

Tom finally breathed a sigh of relief.

After leaving 2,000 firearm Clones to continue defending the Main Base, another 2,000 firearm Clones immediately boarded the train.

It was time to let the Monster Birds besieging the other bases and railway lines taste the power of firearms!
