Wen Yang kept watch over the library’s only entrance while Ning Chu walked around, searching through the bookshelves. But no matter how many times she looked, she couldn’t find An An again.
That pretty much confirmed it.
An An was the same ghost from the hentai story, the one who had been ‘exorcised’ so thoroughly by the protagonist that she couldn’t even close her legs, left with nothing but an ahegao expression and multiple gaping holes.
Ning Chu wasn’t sure whether this female ghost harmed people or how she did it, but one thing was certain—An An was definitely after Wen Yang’s body!
What kind of lewd ghost was this?!
Thinking back, when she and Wen Yang had explored the teaching building late at night and stumbled upon that couple making out in the dark, there was a real chance that it wasn’t a couple at all. It might have been a student seduced by the ghost, having his cum drained.
Not only had this ghost infiltrated the school as a staff member, but now she could also appear in broad daylight, moving around like a phantom. If Wen Yang weren’t so stubborn, Ning Chu would have even suggested that he take a few days off.
If he got targeted, he was doomed. Right now, Wen Yang was just a pure little virgin, completely lacking any exorcism abilities. He also didn’t have any tools to fight against ghosts—he’d be powerless against her.
She was afraid he’d get drained dry.
"It’s definitely a ghost!"After another unsuccessful round through the library, Ning Chu returned to Wen Yang’s side, looking incredibly serious.
Wen Yang sighed and nodded, humoring her. "Yeah, yeah, it’s a female ghost."
Seeing how half-hearted his response was, Ning Chu grew even more uneasy. She pulled out her phone, opened the school forum, and searched for posts about ghost stories.
And she actually found quite a few.
Some people claimed they had heard strange noises from the bathroom. Others swore they had seen a red figure flash past them. One even described spending a night ‘entangled’ with the ghost, leaving them so weak afterward that they could barely walk for days.
Most students treated these posts as nothing more than urban legends.
But there was a common detail in all of them—the female ghost was always described as wearing a red spaghetti-strap dress, which was exactly what An An had been wearing.
Now, Ning Chu was even more convinced. She handed the phone to Wen Yang.
"Look! It’s always a red dress!"
Wen Yang glanced at the posts, then hesitated, looking up at her extremely serious expression.
"If there really was a ghost, wouldn’t the school have already done something about it?"
He still wasn’t convinced, but seeing how serious Ning Chu was made him start to waver just a little.
"Isn’t your uncle an expert? Why not just call him and ask?"
"Uh..."
"Just make it a casual chat. He just had surgery, right? You can use it as an excuse to check on his health."
Ning Chu really wanted Wen Yang’s uncle to step in.
There was no way she was letting Wen Yang handle this!
What, was she supposed to ‘train’ him for a ‘showdown’ against the ghost?
Even if it was a ghost instead of a human, there was no way she was sending her boyfriend into ‘battle’.
Seeing how anxious she was, Wen Yang sighed and nodded. He took out his phone and stepped outside the library to make the call.
Ning Chu followed him to the corridor, leaning against the railing while watching the road below. She listened in on Wen Yang’s conversation with his uncle.
"No way, Uncle. Didn’t you say ghosts are just superstitions? Are you saying this one might actually be real?"
"Huh? Me? You want me to handle it? No way, I don’t even know how to exorcise a ghost!"
"Can’t you come instead? It’s just a few hours’ drive!"
Wen Yang hung up, let out a bitter laugh, and turned to Ning Chu, pulling the corners of his mouth into a helpless smile.
"No luck. My uncle said he can’t make it. He just had surgery."
"—Tsk. Didn’t I say she’s a ghost?"
Wen Yang ruffled his hair in frustration. Suddenly, the entire teaching building felt eerily cold, sending chills down his back.
He glanced warily toward the end of the corridor, his brows furrowing.
"Wait... Am I being targeted?"
"Most likely!"
In the storyline, the female ghost always approached first, seducing the protagonist—only to discover too late that he had come prepared. After an intense battle, she got obliterated.
Or, well... to be precise, Wen Yang broke her.
Even a ghost with hundreds or thousands of ‘live combat experience’ couldn’t handle him!
So what chance did a little succubus like her have?!
Last night, Ning Chu had been relieved that Wen Yang's sexual prowess wasn’t as intense as the story described. But after their second time, she realized—it’s not that he’s a quickshot, it’s just because he’s nervous.
Wen Yang paced the corridor, lost in thought.
He was actually pretty calm about it. After all, he had already encountered An An twice and managed to escape both times without trouble.
"Don’t overthink it. We just need to be extra careful," Ning Chu reassured him, though her brows were tightly furrowed as she kept brainstorming ways to deal with the ghost.
There was a sneaky, ever-present female ghost lurking in the teaching building, constantly eyeing her man...
Even if Wen Yang could resist her temptations, what if she managed to take advantage of him when he wasn’t paying attention?!
The mere thought of it irritated her to no end.
"Flirty little vixen," Ning Chu grumbled.
Why did she have to include a seductive ghost when she wrote her hentai story?
They had no desire to stay in the library any longer. Wen Yang and Ning Chu strolled downstairs, making their way toward the small garden near the teaching building.
At the center of the garden was a small artificial lake with a few free-to-use yellow duck pedal boats docked by the shore.
Ning Chu found a bench and sat down, glancing around. The place was filled with couples enjoying their time together.
She looked up at Wen Yang, who stood by the lake, and called out, "Come sit here."
"You think that ghost eats people?"
"If she really ate people, this would’ve turned into a major incident by now."
That reassured Wen Yang. He sat beside her, crossing one leg over the other and muttering, "I still can’t believe my uncle told me to exorcise the ghost myself. He’s convinced I can handle it."
Ning Chu shook her head firmly. "We are not doing that! What if we piss her off and she actually starts eating people?"
There was no way she was letting Wen Yang go ‘sacrifice’ himself.
She had gone through a lot of trouble trying to keep Wen Yang a virgin, even to the point of becoming a girl herself and ending up as his girlfriend,—there was no way she was letting some random ghost steal him away.
"Doesn’t your uncle have any friends? He could ask someone he trusts to handle this."
"I’ll ask again. And maybe he can at least send me some protective charms."
Ning Chu kept thinking about how to ruin the ghost’s storyline, but other than an exorcism, there didn’t seem to be a good way to solve the problem.
After all, in the story, the ghost lusted after the protagonist’s body—only to end up getting broken instead.
"I guess I’ll just avoid any girl in a red dress from now on."
Wen Yang dialed his uncle again, but this time, the call didn’t go through.
With a sigh, he turned to Ning Chu. "Why do you think that ghost is so interested in me? It really feels like she’s flirting with me."
"No idea. Maybe she wants to suck out your yang energy?"
"Uh… like the ghosts in Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio?"
His eyes suddenly held a hint of anticipation—until Ning Chu narrowed her eyes at him in disapproval.
Wen Yang immediately straightened up and said seriously, "Anyway, I’ll be careful. If I see a red-dressed girl, I’ll run."
"Good."
"Also… about the medical checkup in two days…"
Ning Chu’s face instantly soured.
But Wen Yang, as if performing a magic trick, pulled two folded-up medical forms from his pocket.
"Here. I got two checkup forms from the counselor in advance. You can go with the students from another class. If you’re too nervous to go alone, you can bring Xinya or Lily with you."
"Another class?"
"Yeah. I looked into it—starting tomorrow, different classes will take turns getting their checkups in the afternoon. You can slip in with them, and no one will notice." He explained his plan in full. "Our class goes on Friday afternoon. You can finish your checkup before then and just give me the results."
Ning Chu thought it over and realized his plan was actually foolproof.
No one from another class would recognize her or treat her like one of the guys. That meant she could openly do her checkup with the girls.
