Luo Sheng leaned against the tree behind them, watching their argument.
How fortunate they were to quarrel over such trivial matters, yet her own actions only fueled her resentment.
Luo Sheng lightly tapped Ah Ming with her finger, and a wisp of black energy drifted towards him.
The black energy floated towards Ah Ming. As the sky was dim, it completely merged with the night, going unnoticed by anyone.
Luo Sheng seemed to instinctively know how to wield this dark energy, and she was in no hurry to deal with the two of them.
Only these two remained as her enemies, and she wanted to see how long they could hold on.
Yi Fei, unaware of the wisp of black energy entwined with Ah Ming, continued to speak.
Ah Ming no longer wished to speak. He knew Yi Fei was not listening to him at all. He squatted by Yi Fei's leg, looking at her wound.
Then, he took out a bottle of mineral water from his backpack, opened it, and rinsed her wound.
For some reason, this hurt Yi Fei, and she kicked him aside.
Ah Ming suppressed his anger, wondering why he was attracted to such a woman.
She was arrogant, vain, and sometimes verbally and physically abusive towards him. They had gotten together out of love, yet he felt like a sycophant.
Perhaps it was because his family's company still relied on her family's support. However, her family was not the only one in the country capable of helping his.
If it weren't for their relationship, his family wouldn't have sought help from her family.
There were many other ways, but because of their relationship, Yi Fei's family had profited.
Yet, because her family depended on his, she became even more unreasonable. Ah Ming sometimes felt suffocated by being with her.
However, there were too many entanglements between them. His parents also told him that she was a girl and he should yield to her. But he had yielded time and time again, to the point of having no bottom line.
By her side, he didn't feel like a boyfriend or a fiancé, but more like a servant. He was truly fed up.
Ah Ming no longer wanted to follow Yi Fei like a dog. He wanted to be a human! Even if separating from her would be a painful ordeal, at least he could live with dignity, live like a person.
His resentment grew with each passing moment. Looking at the woman throwing a tantrum before him, he no longer felt the love he once had, only disgust and annoyance.
The black energy began to swirl around Ah Ming, growing thicker and more abundant. Some of this dark energy also touched Yi Fei, though much less so.
Compared to Ah Ming, who was shrouded in darkness so thick that his features were almost invisible, Yi Fei's was much fainter.
Luo Sheng watched the unfolding events with amusement.
It seemed Ah Ming was the one putting more effort into the relationship, yet Yi Fei's feelings appeared deeper.
The human heart is truly unfathomable. Luo Sheng had no interest in such emotions; in her eyes, both of them had brought this upon themselves.
"What are you doing!" Yi Fei's voice was filled with confusion and terror.
Luo Sheng looked over and saw Ah Ming's hand clamped tightly around Yi Fei's neck, while his other hand covered her mouth and nose, preventing her from making any sound.
Yi Fei was forced to the ground by his actions, her back hitting the earth. The sharp stones dug into her, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Ah Ming fiercely choked her, pressing on her mouth and nose with his other hand, looking utterly deranged.
"Shut up, shut up!"
He yelled madly. It was this woman, this woman, who made him live like a dog.
He didn't want to be her dog anymore; he wanted to be a person. As long as this woman stopped talking, as long as this woman stopped bothering him, as long as he broke up with this woman, he was sure he would live a better life.
What about companies, what about wealth? He could strive for it himself. What good was wealth if he still lived like a dog, barked at and ordered around, only to wag his tail and beg for her favor?
The black energy had completely consumed his reason and feelings. All he wanted now was to never see this woman again.
Soon, Yi Fei's struggles weakened. He, however, thought she was faking it and tightened his grip on her neck.
He then removed his hand from her mouth and nose and gripped her neck with both hands.
After a long while, he came to his senses. Realizing what he had done, he released her neck and slumped to the side.
"Yi Fei, Yi Fei." He carefully touched Yi Fei's open, unblinking eyes and found no reaction.
Terrified, he quickly withdrew his hand and rushed to check Yi Fei's heartbeat. He discovered that the once captivating heartbeat beneath her chest was completely gone.
His hands trembled as he failed to understand how things had come to this. This was the woman he loved, the one he wouldn't abandon even in his darkest hour, yet what had he done? Why had he laid a hand on her?
Her phone, discarded beside her, landed screen-down. The flashlight illuminated a small area. He scrambled over and picked up the phone, intending to call for emergency services. The next moment, he pulled back his hand just as he was about to press the keys.
Even if there was signal, how would he explain this?
The marks on Yi Fei's neck were from his own hands; he had killed her. He was a murderer. If discovered, he would likely spend the rest of his life in prison.
No, no, absolutely not. He still had a bright future ahead of him. He couldn't go to jail for this.
He desperately thought of a way to resolve this situation, and then he remembered the female ghost of this instance – Luo Sheng.
He recalled that the male protagonist had Luo Sheng's suicide note, handwritten by Yue Yue. Countless ideas swirled in his mind. He knew he had to dispose of Yi Fei's body as quickly as possible, ensuring no one would discover the marks on her neck.
He frantically considered how to deal with the body. Yes, this was a deserted forest, with no one around. He could bury her here, and no one would ever find out.
"Clap clap clap! Truly magnificent!" Luo Sheng finally spoke, making Ah Ming realize that there was another presence, or perhaps a spirit, in this place.
"You, it was you, it must have been you!" Ah Ming's voice was filled with panic upon hearing the sound, fearing that his killing of Yi Fei had been witnessed.
But when he turned and saw that the speaker was naked, his mind raced. He realized that he had been irrational moments ago.
He had been possessed, as if by a ghost. If there truly were ghosts, then he had certainly been bewitched.
How could he have harmed the woman he loved? It must have been Luo Sheng, it must have been Luo Sheng who did something!
