Chapter 118: Collecting Supplies
After one hour of practice, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu were back to peak condition.
Hearing the voice, they glanced at each other and exited their car.
"Gather around." Mo Chenxuan said and the team members walked towards them.
When everyone was there, he looked at them with a solemn expression and continued.
"The town is safe. There are no zombies, mutant plants or beasts. However, we should stick together to be on the safe side."
On one hand, survivors were often ruthless when fighting for resources.
On the other hand, he and Qin Wu had offended several teams during the previous sub-task.
Since the matter was still raw, Mo Chenxuan didn’t dare to let his team act separately, for fear they would encounter fatal revenge.
"We understand." The team members said.
Although Mo Chenxuan didn’t say much, they understood what was going on and also knew they needed to be more careful than usual.
After that, the team members got into the cars and slowly drove into the town.
Because they had collected most of the supplies on the main street, Mo Chenxuan led his team to a side street.
Five minutes later, the team saw a spice shop.
The shop sold dried goods including raisins, dates, chilli flakes, cumin seeds, garlic powder, ginger powder, and black pepper, among many other spices.
Seeing these spices, the team was extremely excited.
After all, most had been surviving on noodles, white rice, and pancakes.
With these spices, wouldn’t their food become more flavourful?
However, they didn’t forget their current situation.
No matter how much they loved spices, it was impractical to keep too much since it would steal space from food and more important supplies.
Thinking of this, the team members were very measured when collecting the spices, only taking what they liked and leaving the rest.
Seeing this, Qin Wu nodded but waved her hand to collect the leftovers into her space.
After the spice shop was a hardware store.
This shop sold paint, tiles, cement, and other construction materials.
Due to insufficient space, other team members ignored these things but Qin Wu took them all.
Half an hour later, the team finally found a supermarket.
The supermarket wasn’t large, only about one thousand square metres but it had three floors.
The ground floor had food items. The next floor had detergents, toothpastes, tissue papers, and other hygiene products, while the top floor had equipment including fridges, cookers, washing machines, dustbins, and others.
After entering, the team members rushed to grab water, noodles, rice, flour, pasta, biscuits, chocolates, and canned foods.
Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu didn’t grab with their teammates.
Instead, they found the warehouse and emptied it.
After collecting the warehouse, they went to the cold storage but all the stored food had already gone bad and couldn’t be collected.
"It’s too bad." Qin Wu said, staring at the heaps of rotten meat.
"Mmh." Mo Chenxuan nodded but he was satisfied with their harvest.
Although the supermarket was nothing compared to their hoarded supplies, it was rare to encounter an untouched store so many months after the apocalypse began.
As before, the two waited for their teammates to take all they could and then collected everything else.
In this way, the team moved from store to store and collected many supplies.
However, other teams and the army were also doing the same and soon enough, the town was emptied.
After entering several empty stores, Team Legends and affiliated teams finally called it a night.
The second half of the night was peaceful.
At first light the next day, the convoy left the town and continued towards the YS Petrochemicals Refinery.
"How many days until the swamp?" Qin Wu asked, looking outside the window.
"We should get there in three days if nothing unexpected happens." Mo Chenxuan answered with a thoughtful expression.
"Something unexpected..." Qin Wu muttered.
Excluding the mutated pebble plant, their journey had been smooth.
However, things were becoming more and more hectic.
Compared to before, the convoy was encountering more zombies and in some instances, they were forced to stop to deal with the creatures.
"The weather has begun to cool down." Qin Wu suddenly stated.
"It’s only a few weeks to winter."
Before the apocalypse, Qin Wu preferred winter to summer.
However, her previous life cured her of this preference.
Although summers were bitterly hot, they were bearable, especially because she could afford to buy ice to cool her down.
Unfortunately, except for enduring, nothing could be done about winter.
’Let’s hope fewer people will die this time around.’ Qin Wu thought and subconsciously frowned.
Seeing this, Mo Chenxuan knew what Qin Wu was thinking and rubbed her hand to soothe her emotions.
"We and the base are more prepared this time around." He said.
"You are right." Qin Wu sighed.
On the evening of the sixth day, the convoy stopped at a vacant lot.
"We will stay here for the night." A voice resounded from one of the army vehicles.
Hearing this, Team Legends and the affiliated teams parked and exited their vehicles.
"My legs are cramped." Xu Hongying complained.
"How long has it been since I showered? I want a bath." Lin Rongrong said with a nostalgic expression.
However, she soon narrowed her eyes and turned to Qin Wu.
"Sister Qin, are you an immortal? Have you learned the dust-cleaning technique? Do you have a dust cleaning talisman? Can I buy one hundred?"
When she heard the questions, Qin Wu lowered her eyes to hide her guilt.
What dust cleaning technique?
What dust cleaning talisman?
In fact, each day after stopping for the night, she and Mo Chenxuan always found a chance to enter the space for a good shower.
As a result, other people were unkempt but she and Mo Chenxuan smelled nice and looked good.
’Thank god for space.’ She thought and a trace of pride flashed in her eyes.
However, she didn’t dare to reveal that her space could hold people.
Instead, she smiled with a teasing expression.
"Fairies don’t get dirty." She said and Lin Rongrong rolled her eyes in exasperation.
