Half an hour later, Morgan sat in the back seat, clutching a teddy bear as big as two of her, with a satisfied look.
"Nine hundred and eighty-eight dollars, and this is her twenty-first giant bear plushie," Tony started the car, a hint of a headache in his voice.
"I really don't know how fabric stuffed with cotton can sell for so much."
It was only someone like Tony, a doting father, who could afford to buy these things for little Morgan without worrying about money.
For an ordinary family, buying even one would be a significant financial burden.
"And Morgan, we really can't buy any more of these, the room is already full!" Tony turned around.
"Got it, daddy!" Morgan happily fiddled with the giant bear, completely oblivious to what Tony was saying.
"Should I take her home first, and then take you to find the magic user?"
"We can get together after you're done with your business."
"Or perhaps, dinner first?" After arranging for Morgan, Tony asked Lin Feng.
Lin Feng thought for a moment, "Let's invite Strange to dinner."
"As for getting together, we'll see how it goes." While he didn't object to a group meal, Lin Feng wasn't particularly keen on seeing Captain America and the others.
No matter which universe, Lin Feng wasn't very familiar with Captain America and his crew.
"Alright, though I think they'd be very happy to see you," Tony shrugged indifferently.
Everyone had their own habits and personalities. If Lin Feng didn't like it, he wouldn't force it.
After dropping Morgan home, the two headed straight for the New York Sanctum.
Both Stranges were present. Now that Earth was so peaceful, these two, along with Wong, spent their days drinking tea and chatting, with no serious matters at hand. So, they decided to go out for a meal together.
Of course, Wong was brought along too.
Given Wong's size, he could only sit in the passenger seat. Lin Feng squeezed into the back with the two Stranges.
"Why didn't you just open a portal?" Lin Feng rolled his eyes.
Alright, he didn't actually mind squeezing in; such experiences were rare for him.
"How about the barbecue place we went to last time?" Tony ignored Lin Feng's words and suggested.
As he got older, Tony actually preferred less formal settings.
"Barbecue sounds good, as long as it's not that Turkish place you took us to last time!"
Lin Feng recalled the barbecue restaurant Tony had suggested during the Avengers' first mission.
He had been puzzled at the time, wondering why everyone in the post-credits scene had been so silent while eating barbecue.
It wasn't until Tony took everyone to that restaurant one time that Lin Feng understood: that barbecue place was unimaginably bad!
"Ha! You took me to that barbecue place in your universe too?" Tony chuckled.
"Yes, although it's a different universe, there are many similarities."
"That's true, but there are also many differences, like you," the Dark Strange Doctor said from the back seat.
"If I'm not mistaken, there's only one Lin Feng across all universes."
Lin Feng chuckled, "You're right, I am... well, a rather special individual."
Lin Feng wasn't a native of this universe, so of course there was only one of him across all universes.
"So, what is it you're looking for me for this time?" the Dark Strange Doctor asked again.
Honestly, upon learning that Lin Feng was looking for him, the Dark Strange Doctor felt a little panicked.
Whether it was the Watcher from the Big-Headed Doll universe or Lin Feng, they were both figures of immense power. Any matter involving them would not be trivial.
...
Another half hour later, Tony parked beside a Chinese barbecue restaurant.
"I recommend this place; you don't have to worry about the taste. Even Morgan can eat here!"
Tony led the group directly to a window seat, his practiced movements indicating he'd been here before.
He ordered in somewhat broken Chinese, and also requested two bottles of wine.
The two Sorcerer Supremes clearly weren't accustomed to eating much barbecue, their movements a bit clumsy, but no one laughed.
Wong, on the other hand, seemed more adept at life, calmly using tongs to arrange the barbecue on the grill, and even preparing a few dipping sauces.
After a few rounds of drinks, the Dark Strange Doctor once again inquired about why Lin Feng had sought him out.
Lin Feng put down his wine glass and said, "Strange, I want to know how you got to the Lost Library of Books."
The Dark Strange Doctor paused and asked for clarification, "Cagliostro's library?"
Lin Feng nodded, "That's right, the legendary place that holds all books."
"I wonder if you can still go there now?"
Cagliostro's library...
The Dark Strange Doctor murmured the words, which stirred up a memory he'd rather not revisit.
"What library? What is that thing?" Tony asked curiously, flipping the barbecue.
"It contains all books? That's quite a boast..."
Strange next to him interjected, "It's not just a boast; it truly does contain all the books in the universe."
"Alright..." Tony raised an eyebrow and then lost interest.
While it sounded impressive, he had no interest in books.
"The books recorded there can grant you unimaginable power."
"However, if not used properly, it can also lead to unimaginable consequences."
As he said this, Strange cast a subtle glance at the Dark Strange Doctor.
Wong chuckled from the side, not interjecting. He was just there for the meal, and it was best if he didn't speak.
In the years he had spent on Earth, the Dark Strange Doctor had mentioned his past to Strange and Wong.
Strange hadn't expected that his alternate universe self would have such an experience.
But he could understand the Dark Strange Doctor's pain; after all, they were both Stranges, and he could fully imagine what it felt like to lose Christine.
Tony pouted and focused on eating his barbecue, not wanting to get involved in such a conversation.
"Why are you asking about that place? You're not planning on going there, are you?" the Dark Strange Doctor asked, his gaze dimming slightly.
Truthfully, he didn't want to reminisce about the past.
He had come to terms with much now, but those past events had left an irreparable scar on his heart.
"You guessed right, I do want to go there, so do you still remember how to get there?" Lin Feng toyed with his wine glass as he replied.
The Dark Strange Doctor nodded hesitantly.
Well, of course he remembered; it was the place that made him powerful, but also twisted him.
Back then, he had wanted to resurrect Christine and was stopped by the Ancient One.
Just as he was about to enter a past timeline, he was cleaved in two by the Ancient One's dark magic...
Well, he was split into two Stranges.
The two coexisted in the same universe across different timelines.
