Lin Feng watched Tony flustered with amusement, ignoring his glare, and even took the time to pull out his phone and snap a couple of photos.
This historic meeting.
A daughter from another world, traversing time and space.
It could be the basis for a science fiction novel.
Tony was understandably bewildered to suddenly see the daughter he had longed for appear before him alive and well.
Lin Feng hadn't forgotten that Tony and Pepper had been trying to conceive with little success recently.
And now, he was presented with such a grown daughter. The old father's confusion must have been off the charts.
"Don't cry, don't cry!"
"Tell daddy, what happened?"
Even though he didn't know why little Morgan was crying so heartbrokenly, Tony instinctively began to comfort her.
And the word "daddy" came out so naturally, Lin Feng couldn't help but want to applaud him.
"It's you, Teacher Tony."
This seamless transition into the role of a father, his acting time could be considered top-tier in the industry.
Little Morgan finally lifted her little head from Tony's shoulder.
Her big eyes were already a bit swollen from crying, which inexplicably pained Tony.
She clutched Tony's face with her little hands.
"Daddy, didn't you die?"
"Daddy, why have you gotten younger?"
"Daddy, is Mommy still alive?"
Little Morgan's small head was filled with great confusion. With sobs, she fired off three questions.
Tony frowned sharply, his mind racing.
These three questions seemed utterly baffling to Tony.
Each one felt like it was about to short-circuit his brain.
His mouth opened and closed, but he didn't know what to say.
They were not on the same communication channel at all!
He never expected that the incredibly intelligent Tony Stark would have a moment where his mind couldn't keep up.
Fortunately, Pepper's arrival soon saved Tony.
"Tony, there's a message from the government."
"They're inviting you to the next..."
Pepper opened the door and walked in, holding an invitation letter, speaking as she moved.
Little Morgan turned her head curiously, and Pepper gasped, covering her mouth, utterly shocked.
"Mor... Morgan?"
Pepper's stunned and shocked expression at this moment was exactly the same as Tony's!
She also knew about Morgan's existence.
Mainly because Tony had no secrets from Pepper.
For a while, Tony would just stare at the screen and smile foolishly.
Pepper couldn't help but be curious.
Under her interrogation, Tony finally explained the whole story.
Well, since Pepper was Morgan's mother, telling her in advance wouldn't be a problem, right?
Besides, if anything unexpected happened, he could always find his good brother, Lin Feng.
My good brother, the number one in the universe!
But seeing Morgan in person now, Pepper felt like she was in a dream!
"Mommy!"
Seeing Pepper, little Morgan struggled out of Tony's arms and ran a few steps to Pepper, hugging her tightly.
Caught off guard by the sudden "attack," Pepper was even more bewildered and at a loss for what to do.
However, she quickly reacted and bent down to pick up little Morgan.
Instantly, a maternal care, as if of blood relation, surged within her.
It was magical. Even though this child was from a different universe, Pepper felt as if Morgan were her own flesh and blood.
Even her gaze softened.
She gently patted little Morgan's back, letting her little head rest on her shoulder.
Then, she silently spoke to Tony.
"Tony, I want an explanation!"
It wasn't clear if she wanted an explanation for where the child came from, or why little Morgan's eyes were red from crying.
Tony shrugged at Lin Feng, making a "we're doomed" gesture.
"Lin, quickly explain what's going on?" Tony whispered, leaning close to Lin Feng, deliberately avoiding little Morgan's gaze.
The child was brought by Lin Feng, so naturally Lin Feng should explain.
With that, Pepper's gaze also turned to Lin Feng.
She had been so shocked by little Morgan's appearance that she hadn't noticed Lin Feng's presence.
Lin Feng stretched his body and sat down on the sofa.
"This, well, it's a long story..."
"A long story?"
"You don't mean..."
Tony tilted his head and eyed the sky.
He knew Lin Feng had traveled to parallel worlds in the future.
Lin Feng was the one who had given him the Mark Nanami series of suits and the photo of little Morgan.
Could his good brother have gone to a parallel universe in the future and kidnapped little Morgan?
"Yes, it's a very long story, and not easy to tell." Lin Feng cast a meaningful glance at little Morgan.
At this moment, Pepper was facing Lin Feng, and little Morgan, who was in her arms, had her back to Lin Feng, so she couldn't see Lin Feng's gaze.
Tony immediately understood Lin Feng's meaning. Some things couldn't be heard by little Morgan.
After a moment of thought, Tony gave Pepper a meaningful look.
"Pepper, take little Morgan to get cleaned up, and buy her some new clothes."
Tony was subtly hinting for Pepper to get little Morgan out of the way.
However, the reason was very sound. Little Morgan had been living alone for several months.
Her long hair wasn't properly cared for and was a bit messy.
Pepper, being understanding, knew that Tony and she needed to discuss matters concerning little Morgan, so she directly hugged Morgan and walked out of the room.
Their conversation could still be heard in the corridor outside.
"Mommy, why do we need new clothes? Where are our old clothes?"
"This..."
"Because it's going to get colder soon, and we need to buy little Morgan new clothes!" Pepper had never felt as clever as she did today.
"Oh..." Little Morgan put aside her doubts and happily went to buy clothes with Mommy.
She didn't want to think about why the daddy and mommy who had died were now younger, only that they were alive was enough!
"Mommy, mommy, can I have an orange popsicle...?"
"Hmm... only after we've eaten dinner!"
It's true that like mother, like daughter. Pepper slipped into the role of a mother just as quickly as Tony.
The two walked further and further away, their voices growing fainter and fainter, until they disappeared.
The voices grew fainter and fainter, until they disappeared.
Tony let out a sigh of relief. He had countless questions for Lin Feng.
"Alright, can you tell me now?"
"I say, Lin, you didn't actually go and kidnap future little Morgan, did you?"
Tony sat on the sofa, still recovering from the recent "surprise."
"It can indeed be considered that I brought her from the future, but it's not the universe I told you about."
Lin Feng knew this was important to Tony and didn't intend to tease him, so he gave a direct answer.
Tony took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions.
"Okay, this is truly... somewhat overwhelming for me..."
"But, Lin, why did you bring her here? Did the me from that world agree?"
Tony's urgency made his tone somewhat accusatory.
This was also his concern for little Morgan.
If the current little Morgan were twenty years old, with mature and independent thinking, then it would be fine.
But little Morgan was clearly only five or six years old. Would exposing her to such things prematurely be detrimental to her growth?
