Chapter 377 Edith, Elevate Little Spider's Permissions

At four in the morning, Tony did not go home but flew towards Stark Tower.

At this hour, there were almost no people on the street, only some vagrants and gang members engaged in illicit activities.

The Stark Tower logo was still lit, seemingly having become one of the landmarks of New York.

Flying into the top of the building, the lights automatically turned on.

The air was a bit chilly.

Tony walked to the bar, took out a bottle of wine, and then sat down at a table, drinking in silence.

The screen lit up, and JARVIS's voice came through, "Sir, at this hour, you should be resting..."

Tony paid no attention, simply downed the wine and poured himself another glass.

Then, he spoke, "JARVIS, you know I don't need rest."

"That is not entirely accurate, sir."

"Your constitution can only sustain 168 hours of normal operation without damage."

"Beyond 168 hours, your body will show subtle signs of wear."

JARVIS retorted, half-jokingly.

Tony shrugged, already accustomed to JARVIS's daily banter.

"This is far from 168 hours, isn't it?"

JARVIS fell silent...

"Alright, sir, I still advise you to get some rest soon," JARVIS reminded him after a long pause.

Tony's physical data showed he was in excellent health.

Since the symbiont's infestation, Tony's physique had begun to transcend the human realm.

Working continuously for 168 hours, as long as it wasn't combat, would have no significant impact on Tony.

Tony chuckled. In his decades of life, few could argue with him.

Victorious, Tony was in a good mood. He pulled open a drawer by the table and took out a small box.

Upon opening it, a pair of glasses was revealed.

They looked ordinary, yet they were a creation of Tony's constant refinement and dedication.

As he put on the glasses, the lenses immediately lit up like an electronic screen, displaying self-diagnostic data.

"EDITH?" Tony called out.

"Sir, I'm here."

A female voice responded, EDITH was online.

These glasses were the ones Tony left for young Spider-Man after his sacrifice in the movie.

They were also the pair Tony used in Infinity War.

Through EDITH, they could issue many commands.

EDITH was a separate intelligent system, distinct from JARVIS.

Tony had begun designing EDITH a long time ago.

This was all preparation, making contingencies for future variables.

In Age of Ultron, after JARVIS was damaged, Tony chose FRIDAY as his replacement AI.

The footage showed that Tony possessed more than one chip.

This indirectly indicated that Tony did not solely rely on JARVIS and had made ample backup plans.

"EDITH, elevate Peter Parker's access to Level One Master Control," Tony instructed.

"Access elevated."

As soon as the words left his mouth, Peter Parker's personal profile and avatar appeared on the lens, his access level adjusted to just below Tony's.

After his conversation with Lin Feng tonight, Tony had solidified his resolve.

As Lin Feng had said, he understood Spider-Man's personality well. Since he wanted him as his successor, he should cultivate him with his full heart.

If young Spider-Man were to encounter any problems, Tony would have the capability to quickly rectify the situation.

Taking off the glasses and putting them away, Tony massaged his temples.

In his design, EDITH lacked the conversational artificial intelligence functions that JARVIS possessed.

It would not chat and joke with him like JARVIS; its purpose was absolute obedience to commands.

In the movie, after the events of Ultron, Tony conceived of this design.

Artificial intelligence having its own thoughts was extremely dangerous. Only by completely obeying commands could it be prevented from posing a threat.

Even though this event had not yet occurred, Tony had proceeded with this design.

While he was confident his masterpiece would not malfunction, for some reason, he sometimes felt that AI having its own thoughts was dangerous, perhaps a mere intuition.

Not long ago, Tony had made some improvements to EDITH, making it more suited to Spider-Man's fighting style.

This primarily addressed Spider-Man's lack of long-range firepower and weak information-gathering capabilities.

EDITH could access the entire Stark Industries security network, and even utilize satellites from multiple kingdoms, as well as gain unauthorized access to the backends of major telecommunications networks.

In terms of authority, it could seemingly grasp all information on Earth at any time.

Incorporating multiple personal technologies exclusive to Tony, EDITH was virtually unhindered wherever there was a network.

For support, EDITH could call upon the Stark support system located in near-Earth orbit.

It could be said that with these glasses and the corresponding permissions, even if young Spider-Man had no superpowers, he could become a superhero.

The only difference of these glasses from the original work was that they could also command two teams, a total of four hundred individuals, of the first generation symbiote legion.

The symbiote legion, in the eyes of those privy to its secrets, was undoubtedly the strongest legion.

Few could defeat the symbiote legion in a direct confrontation, not even Captain America.

Tony granting young Spider-Man Level One Master Control permissions was terrifying.

This meant that young Spider-Man could utilize any function of EDITH.

Only Tony could revoke commands and stop Spider-Man.

Putting the glasses back in the drawer, Tony turned on his computer screen.

It was almost five o'clock, and he didn't plan on going home tonight.

"JARVIS, what is the status of the Kree element analysis?" Tony asked.

He then added, "Display the current results to me."

JARVIS faithfully executed the command.

Various data streams were displayed.

They listed the identification numbers of unknown elements, their properties, and potential applications.

"Come, let me see if I can create a spatial jump device."

Tony reviewed the data sheet by sheet.

There were only 19 materials, with 8 elements not yet fully analyzed.

Tony first looked at the summaries, and only if a summary piqued his interest would he delve into the overall data.

Unknown Element A016, when formed into metal, was similar to Wakandan vibranium.

It possessed unimaginable hardness and properties, almost entirely conducting no heat or kinetic energy, and its performance was four times superior to vibranium.

When forged into weapons, it could easily cut through vibranium.

This was the sixteenth unknown element Tony had found in the ore samples.

Preliminary scans indicated that this type of ore was abundant on the Kree homeworld.

Almost every element analyzed possessed astonishing properties.

The Kree homeworld was a vast treasure trove; Tony was entirely correct on this point.

The applications for this material were extensive.

After poring over the data for a full hour, Tony finally finished reviewing all of it.

Fortunately, it contained what Tony needed.

This meant he could begin constructing some tools, and then use those tools to build a spatial jump device.
