Chapter 409 Information is Scarce, but the Content is Explosive

Natasha, feeling pleased after their talk, walked into Tony's room.

Lin Feng and Tony stopped their conversation when Natasha entered.

"Finished talking?" Lin Feng asked first.

Lin Feng knew S.H.I.E.L.D. was meddling again when he encountered Hawkeye in the corridor.

His conversation with Tony confirmed Lin Feng's suspicions.

"We're done," Natasha nodded cheerfully.

Seeing her mood, Lin Feng knew Hawkeye hadn't convinced Natasha.

Smiling, Lin Feng picked up a document from the table and handed it to Natasha.

"Take this back and read it. It details your future workplace."

"There are also some conditions written on it. See if you can accept them."

"I'll give you all night to consider and pack," Lin Feng instructed.

"I'll be waiting for you in this room tomorrow at 10:30 AM."

Natasha took the thin stack of papers but didn't open them immediately.

"Alright, I'll read it carefully."

"Can I head back now?"

"Yes, go back and think it over."

"Oh, and after you've read this, burn it and don't mention it to anyone."

He paused, then repeated, "Don't mention it to anyone, do you understand?"

Lin Feng emphasized the word "anyone."

Natasha, with her sharp mind, quickly understood Lin Feng's meaning.

The contents of this document were not to be revealed, not even to S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Natasha's expression turned serious. She carefully put away the documents and replied, "Don't worry!"

She knew what should and shouldn't be said.

Lin Feng nodded with satisfaction and gestured for Natasha to leave.

Two large men were left in the room.

Tony narrowed his eyes.

"I say, Lin, aren't you afraid she'll tell S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

He thought Lin Feng was too hasty in giving away information about the Star people.

What if S.H.I.E.L.D. used emotional manipulation through Hawkeye?

Moreover, Natasha was still officially a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Would she completely refuse orders from S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Lin Feng rolled his eyes.

"When have you ever seen me do something I wasn't sure about?"

"Relax, I used a little trick on that document. Apart from Natasha, no one else can see the writing on it."

"And if she truly intends to speak, the moment she opens her mouth, she'll forget the contents of this document, and even today's memories will be erased."

"Besides, even if S.H.I.E.L.D. did find out about the Star people, do they have the capability to find them?"

Lin Feng scoffed.

Even if Nick Fury knew, he lacked the power to find and reach the Star people's planet.

The extra layer of security on the document was just a small test for Natasha.

Black Widow was a good person, but sometimes good people could be deceived, or their minds clouded by persuasive tactics.

Lin Feng didn't lack faith in Natasha; he lacked faith in S.H.I.E.L.D.

Tony listened, dumbfounded.

"Alright, it seems I was worrying too much. You're quite the trickster, Lin!"

"Are you insulting me?"

"How dare I!" Tony waved his hands repeatedly.

"By the way, you haven't used any of these tricks on me, have you?"

Tony's mind raced, and he felt a chill run down his spine.

However, as he recalled, he couldn't remember any sudden gaps in his memory.

Lin Feng let out a cold laugh and gave Tony a meaningful glance. "Heh, who knows?"

Tony's eyes widened, and his hairs stood on end.

"What do you mean? You didn't actually use them on me, did you?"

"Hey! Don't leave! Explain yourself!"

Tony stared, dumbfounded, as Lin Feng patted his backside and flew away, feeling numb.

This guy, he might have really used those little tricks on me...

Leaving Tony with a riddle, Lin Feng flew into the sky with immense satisfaction. Serves him right for doubting me.

Glancing at Hawkeye on top of the building, Lin Feng sped towards his own home.

Hawkeye didn't spot Lin Feng. He was still reporting to the big dark egg.

"So, you didn't get any useful information at all?"

From the micro-earpiece, Nick Fury's voice came through.

His tone was flat, devoid of emotion.

"Well, not entirely. At least I know Natasha is going somewhere..." Hawkeye replied.

"But Tony has approved my application, and I can join his space team."

Nick Fury breathed a sigh of relief. At least there was good news. With Hawkeye's lead, S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't entirely at a disadvantage.

Since when did S.H.I.E.L.D. have to try so hard to keep up with Tony Stark?

Nick Fury found it pathetic just thinking about it...

"Let's put that aside for now. Tell me about Natasha."

"How is she doing?"

Mentioning Natasha again, a flicker of hesitation crossed Hawkeye's eyes. He didn't know how to answer.

"Natasha, she... she's doing well."

"But I feel like she's not quite the same as before, as if she's a different person."

"A different person?"

On the other end of the communicator, Nick Fury's one eye narrowed.

This was coincidental; he had the same feeling.

Hawkeye quickly added, "It's just a feeling."

"Perhaps it's because I haven't seen her in so long, I'm being too sensitive..."

Hawkeye instinctively wanted to cover for Natasha.

Although he didn't know what had happened to Natasha, the rift between her and S.H.I.E.L.D. was obvious.

Nick Fury was aware of their relationship. After a moment of silence, he continued, "I understand."

"I'll send you the latest communication equipment. Follow Tony's team."

"As for Natasha, you don't need to worry about her."

After a brief exchange, Nick Fury ended the communication.

"Hill, get ready. Tonight, we're going to see Natasha!"

Hill acknowledged the order and hurried off to prepare.

Meanwhile, Hawkeye, after hanging up, went downstairs, his face etched with worry. He seemed lost in thought.

This entire conversation did not escape Lin Feng's notice.

Lin Feng had already returned home and was crouching on the sofa, tilting his head.

Nick Fury was still the same, always liking to meddle with things he couldn't control.

However, it was good that he was going to see Natasha. After reading the document Lin Feng gave her, Natasha would likely convey some of her feelings to Nick Fury.

...

After dinner, Nick Fury, accompanied by Hill, headed to Natasha's residence.

Lin Feng had been monitoring them but didn't follow.

There was no need for him to show himself; he could watch from home.

Natasha, meanwhile, was just taking out the document Lin Feng had given her to read.

Next to her were two large suitcases.

This made Lin Feng chuckle.

Although he was almost certain of Black Widow's choice, she had packed her bags before even seeing the conditions. Her attitude was remarkably resolute.

The document was only a few pages long and could be read quickly.

The simple content was memorable even for an adult.

But for Agent Black Widow, she read it twice.

After finishing, Natasha couldn't help but take a deep breath, her eyes wide with disbelief.

The information was sparse, but the content was explosive.
