Lin Feng followed Ling through the cave entrance.
This seemed to be a chaotic space.
The colorful lights they had seen outside vanished as soon as they entered.
And so did Ling.
In the space, only a few scattered stars drifted in the distance, sparsely distributed.
Lin Feng cautiously extended his senses and was surprised to find that, within his perception, these stars simply did not exist!
[Be careful, host!]
[This seems to be Ling's hometown!]
Suddenly, the system spoke in Lin Feng's mind.
Lin Feng frowned, looking around, but found no trace of Ling.
[Ling's hometown, what does that mean?]
Lin Feng maintained his bio-force field, drifting and searching for Ling, while asking the system.
The system, without any preamble, briefly explained Ling's origins.
Including why Ling, as a system, now possessed a physical body.
And that this place was Ling's hometown, the birthplace of the very first star in the first universe that was ever born.
Starlight was the light emitted by observed stars.
The few planets Lin Feng saw in this space were the first stars to be born and emit light, along with their siblings.
But Lin Feng was puzzled: why did these planets not exist in his perception?
[That's because these planets should have disappeared long ago...] the system responded.
[Disappeared is literal!]
[The universe where these planets resided met its destruction a very long time ago.]
[The heat ray you just used, amplified by the Heart of the Universe, caused a strange wave of influence.]
[Combined with the fact that the body Ling usurped was the first starlight, I suspect the heat ray carried the aura of this light, opening up one of the final zones of all universes.]
[I've been scanning, and if I had to use an analogy, this space is like the urn containing the ashes of the planet where the first starlight was born...]
Lin Feng's expression became strange.
That was quite an analogy!
An urn? I fired a heat ray and dug up a star's urn?
The reason why the entire space and the now-destroyed planets appeared was still unknown, but according to the system's explanation, it did have that "urn-like" feel.
Those planets no longer shone with any brilliance, they were dull and gray, as if dead.
However, the current problem was: where was the owner of the urn?
Lin Feng looked around, still unable to find Ling, and suddenly let out a laugh.
[No big deal, it's actually perfect!]
[An urn, and one related to Ling, wouldn't it be the best place for his grave?!]
So a single heat ray had found Ling's hometown!
[Don't be careless, host. This urn is Ling's hometown, his domain. There might be something that can help him. Be cautious!] the system warned sternly.
At this point, a single misstep could lead to utter ruin.
Lin Feng grunted.
Caution was a given, after all, Lin Feng had no idea about Ling's full capabilities.
The main problem now was to find Ling first!
This space within the urn was strange and peculiar, with nothing useful detectable.
However, soon Lin Feng wouldn't have to search anymore!
Lin Feng's ears twitched, and he heard Ling's laughter.
In the silent space, the laughter was very abrupt, and it was easy to pinpoint its source.
Looking up, he saw it was coming from the largest of the few planets.
Lin Feng flew over and landed on the planet.
Indeed, he saw Ling kneeling and laughing up at the sky.
"What are you laughing about? So wildly!"
Lin Feng landed on the ground, wondering if this guy had gone mad seeing his own urn.
Hmm?
Lin Feng's eyes narrowed suddenly.
What had he seen?
Ling's injuries had healed?
The wounds pierced by Lin Feng's heat ray were completely intact.
It seemed things had become a bit more tricky.
That heat ray, Lin Feng suspected, could even affect OAA (The One Above All).
Moreover, the properties contained within it were not simply transient.
As long as destruction attributes existed in the universe, Ling should not have been able to recover, no matter what.
Even if he recovered through some means, the wounds would reappear soon.
However, Lin Feng quickly remembered what the system had said.
Be careful, this space might offer Ling inexplicable assistance...
Thinking of this, Lin Feng became unhappy.
So I basically gave him a buff, didn't I!
Seeing Ling still with his back to him, completely ignoring his words, Lin Feng became even more displeased.
"Looks like you really like the urn I found for you!"
"Then you can be buried here!"
Lin Feng held the Heart of the Universe, and the previous heat ray was unleashed again.
We're fighting, and you keep turning your back to me, aren't you just providing me a target!
The familiar black and green twin beams appeared, but they strangely passed through Ling without causing any damage.
It was as if Ling was a mere phantom at this moment.
"What is this now?" Lin Feng quickly stopped the heat ray.
Although this thing wouldn't necessarily cause a thousand casualties to the enemy while harming himself eight hundred, it did inflict some damage on the user.
Ling stood up with a laugh.
He turned around.
"Lin Feng, I should thank you!" Ling suddenly said something inexplicable.
But Lin Feng, with a hidden understanding of what Ling was saying, stepped forward and threw a straight punch!
"Thank you? It's simple to thank me, just die here!"
The Heart of the Universe in his hand glowed, but his fist passed through Ling's body.
Can't hit? Still can't hit?!
Lin Feng's face darkened as he pulled back some distance, contemplating whether to use a soul-based forbidden attack.
Ling just watched Lin Feng, standing still without dodging or taunting.
After a moment, he closed his eyes, a look of enjoyment on his face.
He extended his hands, as if feeling the silence of this dead space.
"Do you know what this planet is?"
"And this space..."
Ling's tone was calm, as if he were conversing with a friend, and he asked Lin Feng with great interest.
Then, without waiting for Lin Feng's answer, he continued on his own.
"This space, and this planet, I have searched for a very, very long time."
"So long that I can't remember how many years it has been."
"In a way, it's quite ironic."
"The place I searched for in vain, the planet I yearned to return to, was opened by your unintentional attack!"
"So, shall we make this your grave?"
As these words were spoken, the previously calm Ling seemed to merge with the space, slowly lifting off the ground and floating in mid-air.
His words gradually became infused with killing intent.
"How wonderful, the star that gave birth to the first starlight in the universe, paired with silence, an undisturbed, independent, and vast space!"
"To make this your grave, consider it my thank you for letting me return here..."
