Chapter 33 The Wasteland Wolf Appears, Mother Box is Stolen

"What if I run and leave Barry?" Lin Feng asked.

"You can't even protect yourself, why bother about his life or death?" The system's voice suddenly became devoid of any emotion. Lin Feng fell silent at this.

A slight lapse in concentration, and Clark seized the opening.

With a punch, Lin Feng was directly smashed into the ground, creating a massive crater, experiencing the same treatment Clark had earlier.

A surge of blood rushed up, and Lin Feng spat out a mouthful of blood.

He felt as if his arms, used to block attacks, had lost all sensation, numb and aching.

"If you don't leave now, you'll really die!" the system's cold voice rang out again.

Lin Feng panted heavily, slowly flying out of the crater.

The corrupted Clark floated in mid-air, locking eyes with Lin Feng.

The next second, both of them had red light flashing in their eyes.

Two heat rays, one black and one red, collided in the air.

Lin Feng's heat ray was clearly inferior to Clark's, and he was pushed back steadily.

Seeing that the heat ray was ineffective, Lin Feng flashed and stopped it.

Clark's heat ray immediately missed and struck the ground, igniting a sea of fire.

"Host, the portal is ready. You can return to the Marvel world at any time," the system's voice sounded in his ear again, making Lin Feng feel as if the system was tempting him to run away quickly.

Lin Feng managed a bitter smile. Run? How could he?

"I want to run too, but I have a feeling that if I leave, my conscience won't let me," Lin Feng shook his head. His arrival had brought hope to Batman and the others. If he ran now, not only would it be shameful, but Lin Feng's conscience would not allow it.

He asked himself, he was not such an irresponsible person.

Besides, if he left, Barry would definitely be doomed. His escape would indirectly lead to Barry's death!

With this thought, Lin Feng's gaze became resolute: "I can't leave!"

"Our kind has no such thing as running away!" Lin Feng roared, silencing the system.

Lin Feng forced himself to calm down, searching for Clark's flaws.

Running away was impossible. Lin Feng was not without a chance.

After several rounds of exchange, Lin Feng discovered that the controlled Clark fought in a straightforward manner.

If there was a suitable opportunity and angle, a counterattack might be possible.

Lin Feng didn't hesitate and employed the delaying tactic.

While "kiting" Clark, he asked Batman via his earpiece how long it would take.

Diana was bringing Kryptonite weapons. As long as the Kryptonite weapons arrived, Lin Feng could turn the tables.

"Less than 10 minutes!" Bruce's voice came through.

Kiting Clark for ten minutes wasn't too long. It was daytime, with ample sunlight.

Lin Feng could take a gamble.

Lin Feng's idea was correct, but someone else did not want to gamble with him.

Barry didn't notice that while the two Supermen were fighting intensely, a faint blue beam of light appeared behind him.

Then, with a swish, a sharp pain shot through his chest. Barry felt all his strength instantly drained away, leaving only excruciating pain.

It was Steppenwolf!

Steppenwolf was teleported by the beam of light. Without a word, he slashed at Barry. The poor Barry, before he could even cry out, was ambushed and left on the brink of death.

Kicking aside the half-dead Barry, Steppenwolf picked up the Mother Box from the ground, a satisfied smile on his face.

Fighting? How could that be as important as the Mother Box? This was Steppenwolf's objective this time.

"Doom is coming!" Steppenwolf shouted, and the two fighting in mid-air simultaneously looked over.

"Clark, come with me!" With an order, the beam of light reappeared.

"You cheat! You have no honor!"

Seeing Barry lying on the ground, a pool of red blood flowing beneath him, Lin Feng was both angry and anxious.

In this moment of distraction, Clark seized the opportunity and landed a punch on Lin Feng's waist, sending him flying a considerable distance again.

Clark, however, obeyed Steppenwolf's command and flew to Steppenwolf's side. The faint blue beam of light enveloped them both and teleported them away.

The Mother Box was already in hand; there was no need to continue fighting with a Superman. Too many variables.

"Damn it!"

Lin Feng, flying back, was furious. He watched the teleportation portal disappear, helpless.

Looking at Barry, fortunately, he was still breathing.

Lin Feng quickly took out a small green vial, with about half of the liquid remaining.

Opening the cap, he carefully dripped some onto the wound on Barry's chest and his ankle.

After a few drops, Barry's injuries healed rapidly, and his breathing stabilized.

He touched his wounds and flexed his ankles, exclaiming in amazement, "You saved me! Superman!"

At this moment, Barry felt like crying. Heaven knows how much pressure he had been under during this period.

Finally, hope had arrived, only to be ambushed by Steppenwolf and left fighting for his life.

Life was truly a rollercoaster.

Now, Barry just wanted to cry his eyes out, then take a hot bath, and finally have a hearty meal.

However, his dreams were temporarily unattainable.

Things had become even more dire.

Lin Feng sat down on the ground, resting.

He looked up at the sky, his face grim, and said, "Things have gotten worse, Barry."

"They took the Mother Box!"

This could be considered Lin Feng's first difficult battle since gaining Superman's abilities.

However, the outcome was not satisfactory.

Steppenwolf had still taken the Mother Box. Lin Feng had thought he could prevent it.

But reality had given him a harsh lesson.

Still, Lin Feng wasn't too dejected. After all, compared to the original story, this event was full of variables, and Clark was the biggest variable among them.

*Buzz...*

A black fighter jet slowly descended from the sky, landing in front of them.

Batman and the others had arrived late.

Bruce emerged from the fighter jet, clad in his Bat-suit, with Diana and the others behind him.

He saw the two sitting on the ground, both with grim expressions.

Glancing around, he saw irregular craters everywhere, clearly indicating that a fierce battle had just taken place.

Not seeing the Mother Box, Bruce's expression turned somber.

"Oh man! You guys are finally here!" Seeing them, Barry almost broke down in tears.

Bruce nodded. "You've worked hard, Barry! Are you injured?"

Barry jumped up. "I almost died!"

"It was Lin Feng who used some strange liquid... no, a magical liquid to heal me!"

Seeing Barry hopping around as if unharmed, Bruce stopped paying attention to him and turned his gaze to Lin Feng.

Lin Feng looked somewhat dishevelled, his hair messy, his face a little pale but fading, and his suit had several tears and scratches.

Before Bruce could say anything, Lin Feng spoke first. "Things have gotten worse, Bruce."

"Clark, after being controlled, became much more powerful than before. They took the Mother Box!"

Hearing this, Bruce's face darkened further, as he had suspected.

At this moment, Diana also ran over and keenly noticed Lin Feng's injuries. "Lin Feng! You're hurt?!"

She leaned closer to examine Lin Feng's wounds.

Beneath the torn suit, there were jagged wounds emanating a black-red aura, refusing to heal, and blood was slowly seeping out.

The corrupted and enraged Clark's heat rays were like magic, making it impossible for even Lin Feng's superhuman physique to heal quickly.

Lin Feng turned to Diana and smiled faintly, nodding. "Don't worry, I'm fine..."

Then, he turned back to Bruce and said, "I'm sorry, Bruce, I couldn't protect the Mother Box!"

Bruce calmly nodded. "It's not your fault, Lin Feng. We still have a chance!"

"Let's get on the fighter jet. Tell us the details of what happened."

Lin Feng shook his head. "Let Barry tell you. He knows everything!"

"I need to go to outer space."

"Without the atmospheric barrier, the intense solar radiation will heal my wounds quickly!"

Lin Feng explained, "When I'm healed, I'll find you!"

Bruce knew the effect of the sun on Superman, so he nodded. "Alright. When you're ready, go to my base!"

"Here's the address of the base..." Bruce produced a card from somewhere, with a line of text on it.

"We need to hurry. We don't have much time!" Bruce added.

Lin Feng took the card, nodded at Bruce and the others, and then ascended rapidly, disappearing from their sight.
