Under the gaze of the Avengers, Lin Feng didn't stop, charging straight for the portal in the sky. His figure soon vanished from everyone's sight.
"What did he mean by a grand gift?" On the ground, Natasha looked at Captain America, puzzled. Steve, still panting, returned a question mark.
"How should I know?"
"Aren't you worried about him?"
"Isn't the other side of that portal space?" Steve felt Natasha's question had veered off course. Lin Feng's actions, in his eyes, were akin to self-destruction. To his surprise, no one seemed worried.
"No need to worry, Captain!" Iron Man's voice crackled over the comms. "The cosmic environment is not an issue for Lin Feng! He often goes into space to sunbathe. Instead of worrying about him, let's deal with these ugly aliens on the ground first!"
Hearing Tony's reply, Steve was utterly bewildered. "Have Blue Star humans evolved to this extent now?"

After Lin Feng flew into the portal, his earpiece cut out, and he could no longer hear their discussion about him. He looked ahead. In the vast expanse of the cosmos, countless Leviathans, carrying the Chitauri legions, were flying towards the portal. Behind them was a colossal H-shaped spacecraft – the Chitauri mothership! The mothership continuously disgorged Leviathans into the army. At this rate, it would take the Avengers days to finish them.
The Chitauri legions also spotted Lin Feng. At the mothership's command, they directed the Leviathan beasts towards him. Lin Feng had no intention of engaging them. He didn't want to fight the Chitauri in space; how could he finish them all? His target was the mothership. Once the mothership was destroyed, the Chitauri legions would become like mud!
Lin Feng stared intently at the giant mothership behind the legions. In the original story, Tony destroyed the mothership with a nuclear bomb. However, due to Lin Feng's butterfly effect, the nuclear bomb was never launched. Still, Lin Feng had a way to destroy the mothership. With a thought, he activated the Mind Stone. On Earth, the Avengers, still locked in a desperate battle, watched as the alien invaders, who moments ago were full of life, suddenly collapsed on the ground the next second. The Chitauri riding their aerial vehicles, the colossal Leviathans, all plummeted from the sky. This sudden turn of events left everyone bewildered. Natasha and the others instinctively looked towards the portal.
"Lin Feng succeeded?" someone blurted out.
"Jarvis?" Tony called out from within his helmet. The highly intelligent AI immediately understood. "Sir, it has been confirmed that all alien life forms have lost vital signs!"
With confirmation, the Avengers collectively let out a sigh of relief. Their taut nerves relaxed. Exhausted, they sank to the ground, resting.
"He really did it!" Everyone marveled at Lin Feng's incredible combat power.
"Why hasn't the portal closed yet?" Steve asked, noticing the portal remained unchanged.
"Didn't Lin Feng say he had a way?" Natasha leaned against a wrecked vehicle, gazing at the portal in the sky. "Let's wait for him to come back!"
Hearing this, those resting on the ground fell silent, their gazes returning to the portal. They were all waiting for Lin Feng to return. After a while, Thor suddenly raised his hammer and pointed.
"He's back!" Thor, with his keen eyesight, spotted Lin Feng's figure. Indeed, everyone saw the familiar black silhouette flying back from beyond the portal. It was Lin Feng.
Lin Feng flew back and slowly landed on the rooftop of Stark Tower. He still needed to close the portal to truly end it.
"I'll go check!" With those words, Tony manipulated his armor and soared into the sky. *Thump*. Tony landed on the rooftop as well. Lin Feng stood beside the portal device. However, Tony couldn't understand why Lin Feng wasn't closing the portal immediately. Instead, he was frantically rubbing his eyes? What was he doing?
"Hey, buddy! What's wrong with your eyes?" Tony greeted him as he walked over.
"Hm?" Hearing Tony's voice, Lin Feng instinctively looked up.
"What the f***?" Tony stared at Lin Feng's eyes in astonishment. They were red, as if he had conjunctivitis, and tears were uncontrollably flowing.
"Did you get hit in the eye?" Tony asked uncertainly, while his mind raced. Could Lin Feng's weakness be his eyes?
Lin Feng also felt the discomfort in his eye sockets. It was his first time using the Mind Stone, and Lin Feng hadn't controlled the intensity well. The energy transfer was too high, and his eyes hadn't recovered yet.
"It's nothing!" Lin Feng said, rubbing his eyes. "How is it? Are all those Chitauri dead?"
Tony nodded. "Yes, they're lying on the ground motionless! How did you do it?"
Lin Feng blinked, feeling a little better. "I blew up their mothership. I overused my heat ray!" Lin Feng pointed to his eyes. It was as he thought. After the Chitauri mothership disappeared, all the Chitauri legions went offline.
"Alright, I'm not surprised! After all, you're a monster!" Tony pointed to the portal device, reminding him. "Now, shouldn't we figure out how to turn this thing off?"
Lin Feng nodded and took two steps forward. "Don't worry, I have a way to turn it off!" It was time to close this portal. Lin Feng raised his left hand, wearing the wrist guard. The Mind Stone glowed again. The energy shield that even Iron Man's palm repulsor couldn't destroy was like air to Lin Feng; he directly reached his hand in. He grasped the Cosmic Cube and yanked it out. *Buzz!* The light beam, deprived of its energy supply, instantly snapped. The portal, under the gaze of countless people, slowly closed, signaling the defeat of the Chitauri and the end of the invasion.
