Chapter 44 Resolving One's Own Issues, Stark Industries' PR Department Steps In

Lin Feng pushed the tea towards Gu Yi, who took the cup and drank it all in one gulp.

The tea was very hot, but that was nothing to a superhero.

Even boiling water would not cause Lin Feng the slightest harm.

After finishing the tea, Lin Feng took out the tea leaves he had just bought from the system's inventory.

"Sorcerer, I've brought a gift!" Lin Feng said with a chuckle, pushing the tea leaves towards Gu Yi.

Gu Yi glanced at them and shook her head with a slight smile.

She knew very well what Lin Feng meant.

"Even without a gift, I would have helped you..."

"From the moment you left this world, I already knew."

Gu Yi hesitated for a moment before accepting the tea leaves.

Lin Feng's tea leaves were of unknown origin. Gu Yi tried to trace their source,

but the screen only showed blackness.

"You don't need to worry. The dark magic you were afflicted with is not complicated,"

Gu Yi said, knowing Lin Feng was a somewhat impatient superhero.

She didn't expect a young man to be able to calm down.

"Look!" Gu Yi said, extending her hands.

She wove her fingers together, drawing symbols that Lin Feng couldn't comprehend.

As Gu Yi moved, a golden magic circle appeared out of thin air.

It spun and shifted continuously.

The magic circle slowly approached Lin Feng.

Lin Feng felt as if something within him was being peeled away.

It didn't take long.

Gu Yi quickly pulled her casting hand backward.

A thread-thin black line was pulled out of Lin Feng's body.

The black line emitted a dark mist, floating in mid-air, trapped by the magic circle.

After examining it closely, Gu Yi opened a portal and tossed the black line inside.

As the black line left his body, Lin Feng immediately felt a great sense of relief.

The malevolent fire that had been constantly present vanished without a trace.

"I've thrown it into the Dark Dimension," Gu Yi said.

"It won't affect you anymore, don't worry."

Gu Yi had her reasons for doing this. It was dark magic, after all, and she figured Dormammu wouldn't mind Gu Yi littering.

Seeing how effortlessly Gu Yi had resolved the issue, Lin Feng breathed a sigh of relief.

It seemed the dark magic of the Exile was not much to Gu Yi's liking.

"Thank you for your help this time, Sorcerer..." Lin Feng cupped his hands in thanks.

Gu Yi, however, shook her head, her gaze full of meaning: "Helping you is helping Blue Star!"

"You will play a significant role in the future, Lin Feng."

Lin Feng listened to Gu Yi's words, feeling a sense of vague understanding.

He had read the original story and could roughly guess what Gu Yi was referring to.

The future likely referred to the events of Avengers 3 or 4.

In the Marvel universe, the greatest crisis for Blue Star thus far came from the purple-skinned alien.

Lin Feng didn't know if he could easily defeat the purple-skinned alien, but based on his performance in the movies,

he doubted the purple-skinned alien could withstand more than a few of his heat rays.

Thinking this, Lin Feng felt a little more at ease.

The only thing worth noting was whether Lin Feng's arrival would trigger a more significant butterfly effect.

Although there were no signs yet,

Lin Feng believed a butterfly effect was inevitable.

The few things he had done since arriving in Marvel had altered some of the plot.

This wasn't what he wanted, but he couldn't help but change the plot.

The moment he appeared in Marvel, it was destined that the plot would change because of it.

Only by being fully prepared could he face the unknown storm stirred up by the butterfly effect.

After bidding farewell to Sorcerer Gu Yi, Lin Feng soared towards Tony Stark's villa.

Having resolved his own troublesome issue,

it was time to deal with Susan's problem.

Tony happened to be at his villa.

He welcomed Lin Feng's arrival.

"Lin? You're back?" Tony said, sitting in the living room, watching Lin Feng fly down from the sky and enter the house.

Lin Feng didn't stand on ceremony. He walked straight to the sofa, picked up a wine glass in front of him, and poured himself more than half a glass.

He had told Tony Stark he would be away for a few days when he departed for DC, just not where he was going.

After taking a drink, Lin Feng let out a sigh of relief.

He noticed that Tony's arc reactor had undergone some changes.

The light source was triangular.

"You made it?" Lin Feng pointed to the arc reactor on Tony's chest and said with a smile, "Congratulations!"

Tony replied with a look of self-importance: "Of course, I made it. Who do you think I am?"

"Genius inventor, Tony Stark!"

Tony continued, "I have a rough idea of why you're here..."

"It's about Susan, isn't it?"

This was the second tactical backward lean of the day.

Lin Feng couldn't help but roll his eyes.

How did everyone know what he was going to do?

Lin Feng shook his head, a little helplessly: "Susan is still at home, crying."

"I've also noticed," Tony said, a hint of hesitation in his expression.

"Stark Industries has already started its public relations campaign."

"I should have resolved this matter immediately, but Lin,"

"You might not know, but I've been a bit busy lately."

"It's that..." Tony gestured with his hands in the air.

"A big guy insisted on having a mech battle with me, um..."

"So..."

Lin Feng interrupted Tony, nodding: "I know! Tony."

"I'm not blaming you."

Tony's incident had made the news. Ivan Vanko and Hammer Industries had replicated his mechs.

However, Ivan Vanko had never genuinely collaborated with Hammer Industries.

He controlled a large number of mechs, chasing Tony and causing quite a spectacle.

This was the plot of Iron Man 2, happening around this time.

Therefore, Tony couldn't attend to everything.

Tony nodded, relieved.

He had said this because he was afraid Lin Feng would blame him for not intervening to stop the rumors.

It was true that Tony Stark had been incredibly busy these past few days.

The development of the new arc reactor,

and Ivan Vanko's scheme,

had left Tony overwhelmed.

"The public relations efforts will yield results soon," Tony continued.

"J.A.R.V.I.S. has identified all the key individuals spreading the rumors."

"I believe tomorrow, the US authorities will lock them all up."

"What about you? As Superman, do you want to come forward and clarify things?"

Half of the rumors were about Tony Stark, and the other half involved Superman.

Lin Feng nodded. As Superman, he naturally had to come forward.

Even if Susan wasn't his girlfriend, he would still step forward to clarify the truth for the innocent.

"This is why I came to see you."

"I don't think simply explaining the situation will be credible enough."

"Then what's your suggestion?"

Lin Feng's words made Tony a little puzzled.

"I was thinking we could film a video together and post it online..." Lin Feng explained.

"Oh, man, I never do that kind of thing!" Tony squinted in exasperation.

"It's beneath my dignity, you know?" Tony refused.

"I mean, it's too lowbrow..."

Rejected, Lin Feng didn't say anything, but just stared at the arc reactor on Tony's chest and asked,

"Was the tea good..."

A single sentence left Tony speechless, his eye twitching.

He understood the underlying meaning of Lin Feng's words.

I gave you tea to detoxify you, and information to create new elements.

And now you're telling me you're unwilling to film a video?

"Alright, alright, Lin, you're an exception," Tony surrendered with a helpless gesture.

"Just this once, only this once!" He held up one finger.

Lin Feng smiled in satisfaction: "No problem!"

The two happily planned the video content, with J.A.R.V.I.S. in charge of filming.

The process took about an hour.

Tony kept complaining that he didn't look handsome enough in the shots, leading to two reshoots.

By the time they finished, it was already past midnight.

Lin Feng didn't go home, nor did he stay overnight at Tony's villa.

Since he had his own villa,

Lin Feng was somewhat reluctant to stay in other people's homes.

He found it strangely peculiar.

And as long as he was exposed to sunlight,

even if Lin Feng didn't sleep for days and nights, he wouldn't feel tired.

Time quickly passed to the next day.

Early in the morning, Stark Industries' public relations department made its move.

Lawyer letters and statements spread across major forums,

detailing the key figures who had disseminated the rumors.

Even the personal information and photos of the key figures were blurred and released.

Stark Industries stated that they would pursue legal responsibility to the fullest extent.

This left the onlookers bewildered.

Even when Tony Stark had been involved in gossip news, he had disdained to explain.

Situations where public relations were involved were rare. Although the scale of this rumor was indeed significant,

some perceptive netizens already sensed that there was more to the story.

The protagonist of the incident, Susan Carter, might have a background they didn't know about...

Under the watchful eyes of countless netizens,

several masterminds who had been paid to spread rumors were quickly arrested.

Even on-site footage was released.

John was apprehended live on BBC radio.

He shouted in terror, being unceremoniously dragged into a police car.

Flora also couldn't escape.

She looked utterly stunned and disbelieving.

They had barely shown their faces throughout this rumor-mongering incident.

Even when hiring anonymous internet trolls, Flora had been cautious enough to have John conduct transactions using Bitcoin.

Why were the police at her door so quickly? She couldn't understand.

John was still yelling about wanting to make a phone call.

He harbored the hope that his uncle would save him.

However, what he didn't see was

his uncle standing not far away, with a dark expression, watching him being taken away in silence.

He didn't know that his uncle had already received the information.

Stark Industries had exerted immense pressure on the authorities in New York this time.

This was a situation that a radio station boss could not possibly resolve.
