Chapter 55 Evolution Approaches, Tony's New Toy

After dinner, Susan coaxed Alina to sleep.

It was getting late, and sending the little one back would mean arriving after midnight, so she ended up staying at Lin Feng's place.

Children need to sleep early and wake up early to grow, they shouldn't stay up late.

For the next two days, Alina stayed at Lin Feng's villa, enjoying her school break.

Of course, this was decided after getting Lin Feng's consent.

Lin Feng happily played with the little one for two days.

The little one watched Lin Feng save the day with her own eyes and exclaimed how thrilling it was.

Lin Feng even took her deep-sea fishing.

Both the big one and the small one loved to play, and they had a wonderful time!

But happy times always pass quickly.

The holiday ended in the blink of an eye, and the little one had to go back to school.

On this day, in front of the villa, Alina tearfully said goodbye to Lin Feng.

Susan waited in the car, not rushing her.

"Superman brother, I will miss you!" Alina said, sniffling.

Lin Feng, amused, wiped her nose. "Superman brother will miss you too!"

"Hurry back! Remember to listen to your sister!"

"Next holiday, come over, and I'll take you fishing in the sea again!"

Upon receiving Lin Feng's promise, the little one reluctantly climbed into the car, still waving her small hands vigorously at Lin Feng before leaving.

The experiences the little one had these past two days were something most people wouldn't experience in a lifetime.

Let alone deep-sea fishing, who else could take selfies in outer space without a spacesuit!

After sending Alina off, Lin Feng slumped onto the sofa to rest.

While playing with children is fun, it's also tiring, primarily mentally!

After a short rest, Lin Feng took out his phone and tapped on Tony Stark's contact.

That old guy had sent him a photo a couple of days ago, showing Lin Feng taking Alina on a trip through the universe.

He even teased Lin Feng about when he started a cosmic tourism business.

Lin Feng couldn't be bothered to reply.

He was looking for Tony this time to ask for a favor...

A call was made, and luckily, Tony was at his villa.

After hanging up, Lin Feng flew over directly.

With the popularity and fallout from the Avengers 1 incident, his reputation value was nearing a hundred million, almost enough to exchange for Silver Superman.

He learned from the system that upgrading to Silver Superman required him to stay in the sun for two months.

Lin Feng couldn't quite understand why.

Since the system said so, he'd just do it.

Didn't upgrading to Iron Body also involve staying in outer space for about three months?

However, before heading to the sun, Lin Feng planned to ask Tony to keep an eye on Susan.

Even though Susan had the Superman gauntlets he gave her, an extra layer of security was always good.

"Playboy, what are you busy with?"

When Lin Feng arrived at Tony's workshop, he saw him fiddling with a circular shield.

"Hey, buddy, come check out my new toy!"

Seeing Lin Feng arrive, Tony held up the circular shield.

The shield was about the same size as Captain America's vibranium shield.

However, its paint job was in the signature red and gold of the Iron Man suits.

In the center was the iconic inverted triangle reactor logo.

Lin Feng was a bit confused why Tony was making a shield and asked, "Are you tired of being Iron Man? Want to be Captain Iron, replacing Steve?"

Hearing this, Tony rolled his eyes.

"Why would I replace that old popsicle?"

"This is made from metal I got from Nick Fury!"

Tony explained.

"This thing is almost the hardest metal in the world!"

"I managed to get my hands on some, but not a lot..."

Last time Thor's hammer struck Captain America's shield, the immense kinetic energy was dispersed by the shield, and Tony took notice of this item.

According to Jarvis's analysis, Captain America's shield had top-tier kinetic energy absorption capabilities.

Later, after some investigation, he learned that Captain America's shield was made of vibranium.

This piqued the interest of the tech-savvy Tony.

After understanding vibranium's properties, he approached "Egghead" (Nick Fury).

After much persuasion, he paid a hefty sum to acquire some.

He originally wanted to buy more, to see if it could be used in the next generation of his suits.

Unfortunately, SHIELD's vibranium reserves were not extensive.

Jarvis spent a long time searching before finding some clues about vibranium's source.

The vibranium Tony acquired was partly used to forge this shield.

After simple testing, vibranium proved to be much sturdier than his Iron Man suits.

Tony fixed the shield onto a stand.

"Come on, Lin, give it a punch and see!"

Tony invited.

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

"Go ahead, let me see if it can withstand your attack!!"

With that, Tony ran to a pre-made bunker nearby.

It seemed Tony had prepared for him to test it.

Lin Feng shook his head, saying nothing more.

With his current strength, even without the amplification of the Infinity Stones, he could destroy the vibranium shield.

Under the combined influence of the Infinity Stones and solar radiation, Lin Feng was now significantly stronger than when he had first become Superman.

He took two steps forward and punched the vibranium shield.

*Bang*

Circular sonic waves spread from the shield.

The immense force was dispersed outwards, scattering some of the surrounding tables, chairs, and tools.

A fist-shaped indentation appeared on the shield, slightly caved in, but not pierced through.

"Hahahaha!" Tony jumped out excitedly.

"How about it, Lin! Isn't it incredibly strong?"

In Tony's eyes, even though there was a fist-shaped dent on the shield, it had undoubtedly withstood Lin Feng's punch!

Did this mean he could build an anti-Superman suit?

Seeing his uncontrollable joy, Lin Feng dismissively curled his lip and took the shield from the stand.

He applied force with both hands.

*Crrrunch*

An unpleasant sound of metal deforming echoed as he bent the vibranium shield in half.

"You probably don't know," Lin Feng casually tossed the bent shield onto the floor.

"That punch of mine didn't even use a third of my strength!"

Tony looked silently at the vibranium shield on the floor, shaking his head and giving a wry smile.

"Good heavens, I underestimated your strength..."

"On Earth, is there anything you can't break?"

Lin Feng raised his eyebrows. "Probably not."

"But vibranium is indeed very hard, and from just now, its ability to absorb and disperse kinetic energy is excellent."

"So, do you want to use this to build a suit?" Lin Feng asked.

"I have that idea," Tony nodded.

"But due to some reasons, I plan to only incorporate vibranium metal in the main parts."

"But that will still require actual testing."

After speaking, Tony picked up the vibranium shield and set it aside, instructing Jarvis to record the data.

"What about you? What do you need me for?"

Lin Feng wouldn't normally come to him without a reason; the guy was usually cooped up at home with his girlfriend, being all lovey-dovey.

Seeing Tony bring up the main topic, Lin Feng said, "Tony, I need to go to outer space."

Tony: "?"

"That sounds a bit familiar."

Lin Feng rubbed his nose. "Hear me out!"

Tony made a 'continue' gesture.

"I need to go to outer space for about two to three months."

"During this time, I'd like you to send someone to look after Susan for me."

"Don't let her get bullied!"

"Who would dare bully Superman's girlfriend?" Tony was speechless. "Are you kidding me?"

Lin Feng shook his head and said seriously, "I'm being serious, Tony."

"SHIELD is more complicated than you think."

Lin Feng's words were pointed, and Tony's eyes flickered.

"Are you saying the threat comes from SHIELD?"

"Is it Nick Fury? Do you think he might do something unfavorable to you because you haven't joined the Avengers?"

Lin Feng shook his head and explained, "I've never worried about that, and Nick Fury wouldn't be that foolish!"

"The threat comes from SHIELD, yes, but it's not Nick Fury."

Black Egghead isn't very effective, Lin Feng couldn't understand it.

He might as well have told Egghead directly that Hydra was peeing on his head.

There were still a large number of Hydra operatives wandering around SHIELD.

It seemed like not joining SHIELD back then was the right decision...
