Chapter 543: Chapter 543: Auction (Part 1)
Early in the morning, Raina North got out of bed, and a huge pile of documents was stacked on her bedside.
Yesterday, the elder who went to The Willows Family with Lune, also the Third Elder of The Celestial Alliance, said with a face full of smiles, "The situation is urgent, Alliance Hierarch, I’m afraid we’ll have to trouble you to work hard."
Before Raina could respond, he swiftly made his exit.
Lune carried breakfast in and said, "Orion, time for breakfast."
"What breakfast?" Raina glanced at the massive pile of documents, grumbling, "Already full."
Although Raina was quite displeased, she didn’t neglect any of her duties. After quickly eating a little, she began handling the documents.
Even though she had left The Celestial Alliance for years, she was no stranger to the matters she stirred up outside, so she was quite familiar despite not handling these for some years.
However, Raina didn’t rush to process those miscellaneous items but rather carefully examined the recent status of The Celestial Alliance, as well as the situation of the troublesome Elders.
The more Raina read, the heavier her heart became. The situation of The Celestial Alliance was worse than she imagined.
Setting aside the antagonistic forces against The Celestial Alliance, just the internal and external betrayals from branch offices and subordinate families were major troubles.
If they were to be exterminated one by one, rivers of blood would certainly flow.
In earlier years, Raina did lead people into battle quite a bit, but in the end, it was for survival. By nature, she’s not fond of seeing blood, which is why she took the opportunity to retreat from The Umbral Zone.
But then she was brought back by that scoundrel Jonah Rivers.
Raina took a deep breath, unwilling to dwell on this vexing matter.
The more troublesome issue was still the internal affairs of The Celestial Alliance.
Since she left, the Elders have become restless.
They were originally the founding elders who established The Celestial Alliance with her, and already had a lot of seniority. Plus, they had confidants and followers even before joining The Celestial Alliance, and have only expanded through it over the years, leading to further ambitions.
Lune, despite his high prestige in The Celestial Alliance, was ultimately still young. Plus, his natural aloofness didn’t favor building close relationships, so even though his status was high, he held little real power.
The Elders with real power were filled with mutual suspicion, division, and opposition, bringing The Celestial Alliance to the brink of fragmentation, just as the Third Elder mentioned.
Raina set the documents aside and couldn’t help but sigh.
Lune was busy wiping his knife, hearing Raina’s sigh, and noticing the hidden worry on her face, he couldn’t help but say, "Orion, no need to be so troubled. If someone disobeys, just eliminate them."
Raina was speechless. This kid was getting more and more ruthless and violent.
However, he had a point. Whether it was The Celestial Alliance or The Umbral Zone, no grand argument surpassed violence with violence.
Raina stood up and patted Lune on the head, praising him, "My little Lune is getting more clever."
Lune kept a serious face, but his ears quietly turned red, and his sparkling eyes were adorably bright.
Raina couldn’t help but smile.
The auction at The Dark Tower started at eight in the evening. After dinner, Raina led Jonah Rivers, Lune, and the Third Elder, who hurried over upon hearing the news, from The Celestial Alliance.
The address for this auction was at an auction house under The Dark Tower.
The space in this auction house was vast, with a tall auction stage in the center of the hall, and not a single seat was empty, underscoring the auction’s scale.
However, given Raina’s identity, she wouldn’t sit in such a public area. Instead, under the Waiter’s guidance, she went to a private booth.
