Chapter 348: Chapter 348: Three Seconds Means Three Seconds! (Part 2)

Elias Hawthorne thought, Raina surely didn’t realize how captivating and alluring that glance of hers was.

The beast sealed in his heart was becoming more and more restless, clearly unable to be contained much longer.

If it weren’t for their current location, he would definitely make Raina realize his intensity.

Thinking of this, Elias suddenly became aware of a very serious matter: he had been married to Raina North for quite some time, yet had remained abstinent.

And now, faced with this situation, although he desired to savor some pleasure, Raina surely wouldn’t be in the mood, nor cooperate with him.

The more Elias contemplated, the more his anger grew, gritting his teeth in frustration at the mastermind behind all this; daring to delay him seeking pleasure was utterly unforgivable!

He saw Raina diligently examining the corpse again, took a deep breath to suppress his inner turmoil, and asked, "Any leads?"

Raina shook her head and sighed, saying, "No trace found. Even if there was, it would be pointless. A hundred and seventeen poisons, using the principles of mutual promotion and restraint, crafted into life-saving medicine, can transform into an incredibly lethal toxin by simply tweaking a few elements, yet all detected ingredients are the same, leaving no clues at all."

Elias said, "No clues might actually be the biggest clue. I presume you already have your suspects?"

Raina raised an eyebrow, surprised at Elias’ quick reaction, and didn’t hide her thoughts, "Indeed, I do have suspects."

Though the principles seem simple, executing them is not easy. Counting those who harbor grudges and possess this skill, there are truly only a few individuals.

Elias asked, "So what do you plan to do next?"

"Naturally, it’s about luring the snake out of its hole and then giving the kill a final strike." Being spied on by such a malevolent person from the shadows is truly displeasing.

Raina looked at Elias and said, "But I’ll really need your help in this matter."

"And how do you want me to assist you?"

Raina beamed a radiant smile, "It’s simple, I just need President Hawthorne to pretend to be dead for a while."

She raised her hand, the silver needle gleamed sharply under the light.

Elias’ handsome face stiffened involuntarily, abruptly recalling the previous experiences with those five bizarre liquids, and instinctively gulped.

Raina didn’t miss Elias’ reaction and hastily comforted him, "Don’t worry, I’m quick, it won’t hurt."

"..." Was he afraid of pain?

No, he was more afraid of whatever other antics Raina, this bold-to-the-point-of-reckless woman, might try!

Nonetheless, however apprehensive, he could only endure it; otherwise, how would he maintain his image of masculinity?

"Let’s begin."

Raina, watching Elias’ expression, couldn’t help but laugh behind her hand.

Elias, knowing he couldn’t deceive Raina, glared at her, "No laughing..."

Before he finished speaking, Raina had already acted.

The silver needle in her hand struck him like a lightning bolt, and then she smacked his chest.

Elias opened his mouth uncontrollably.

Whoosh—

A mouthful of blood was spat forth.

Raina caught Elias, shouting and yelling, "Elias! What’s wrong with you! Elias, wake up, hurry up and wake up!" Seeing Elias still looking at her, she pinched his arm, glaring at him, "Hurry and lie down, close your eyes!"

Seeing Elias unmoving, she simply lifted her foot and kicked the bend of his knee.

Caught off guard, Elias’ legs buckled, and Raina immediately pressed him to the ground.

Damn!

Elias couldn’t help but curse lowly; this audacious woman dared to kick his legs!

Once this matter was concluded, he definitely needed to seek retribution, to teach Raina well about some boundary-setting realities regarding men.
