Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Faking Death with Brotherly Teamwork (Part 2)
Master North: "... Playing dumb and spending money recklessly, what’s wrong with you?"
Baby Hawthorne let out a cold laugh and pointed to the unconscious fake Bobby on the ground, "Deal with him first."
"Got it!"
The two of them discreetly threw the fake Bobby into a garbage truck and carted him away.
Once they were done, they didn’t linger, dusted off their hands, and left.
By the time The North Family noticed the fake Bobby was missing, they had already fled long ago.
Meanwhile, over at the Hawthorne Family, Raina North received a questioning call from Claire North.
Claire North: "Raina North, I really underestimated you, but do you think this is over? This is just the beginning."
Raina North: "Claire North, what do you mean?"
Claire North: "Raina, don’t play dumb! You used the two kids to the North Family to kidnap Bobby. Do you think you can hide it? Do you think taking the kid away guarantees everything? Dream on, I’m telling you."
Claire North slammed the phone down after her harsh words.
Raina gripped her phone, just catching a glimpse of Shea North’s fleeting figure.
Shea North, who stayed at home base, realized the plan was exposed, and immediately informed Baby Hawthorne and the others once she got back to the room.
"Exposed! The North Witch called to provoke us, Mom already knows."
As soon as the words were out, she turned around to see her mom standing at the door with a sardonic smile.
"M-Mom."
Raina glanced at the guilty-looking Shea and the kids in the video, "I’ll give you one minute to come up with an excuse to fool me."
Saying this, she walked over to sit down on the sofa.
Casper North swallowed his spit and spoke first, "Raina, I can explain."
"Go on." Raina wasn’t in a hurry, which made the other three kids even more nervous.
"As the saying goes, ’if you don’t enter the tiger’s den, you won’t catch its cubs.’
Raina nodded, "Hmm, not bad. Quoting proverbs now."
"Of course, who do you think I inherited from? I’m the one who inherited your high IQ, Raina. Once I step in, everything is settled. You don’t know how miserable the North Witch was when we dealt with her..." Casper bragged immediately, tail up in pride.
Raina’s smile grew wider as she listened to the whole event.
Shea sighed deeply, covering her face due to her dumb brother.
Even though there was a delay across the screen, Casper still sensed his mom’s displeasure and promptly fell silent.
Baby Hawthorne kept it simple, bowing his head, "Mom, Baby knows it was wrong, Baby just wanted to protect you."
Casper quietly muttered, calling Baby cunning.
Raina’s playful expression disappeared, turning serious.
"Do you all think you’re very clever, very capable, while everyone else is foolish and dumb?"
The three kids shook their heads immediately, "No."
But!
Their expressions clearly said otherwise.
"It’s just... we thought the North Witch was really dumb..." Casper whispered.
Raina let out a cold laugh, and at that moment, Aunt Rivers’ voice came from outside.
"Young Madam, bad news! Claire North is here with the police, she said that young master and Casper kidnapped the child adopted by the North Family."
Raina went downstairs to see the crowded living room, not just Claire North and her group, but also a lot of unfamiliar faces.
Even Old Mrs. Hawthorne, who usually stayed out of things, was there, talking with the crowd.
"Those are some of the elders from the Hawthorne Family side branches, and company shareholders." Jasper Hawthorne walked over, his gaze falling on one person in the crowd, his face full of sarcasm, "They were all summoned by my dear dad. Sis-in-law, you should be cautious, these people come with ill intentions."
