Chapter 484: Chapter 484: Turning the World Upside Down (Part 2)
Raina chuckled, "Master Foster, are you using me as a garbage collector?"
"No way, a garbage collector isn’t as useful as you, right, Master of my little Leila?"
"Leila’s master? Who is that? Where is that?"
"Oh, don’t pretend you don’t know. I’m talking about you, aren’t I?" Master Foster leaned in a bit. "How about it? Isn’t my little Leila especially adorable and great? Aren’t you just tempted to take her as your apprentice? For the sake of our friendship, I agree to it. When do you plan to hold Leila’s apprenticeship ceremony? How about today?"
"No way."
Master Foster nodded, "Yes, of course, it’s not feasible. How many masters can my little Leila have in her lifetime? The apprenticeship ceremony must be grand, right?"
Raina was speechless, "You want Leila to have several masters?"
"Don’t worry, no matter how many masters Leila has, you’re the most important one, so stop being jealous. Who should we invite? Old Zhang, Zane..."
Raina saw Master Foster already mumbling about who to invite, and she just felt exasperated, "I mean, I can’t take Leila as my apprentice."
Foster suddenly became anxious, "But you just said Leila is a good kid, how come you changed your mind so quickly?"
Seeing Master Foster looking at her as if she were a heartbreaker, Raina was at a loss for words, "Leila calls you grandpa, yet she wants to take me as her master, won’t that make me a generation younger than you for no reason? Master Foster, am I that naive?"
"So that’s all it is, what does it matter, we each speak from our perspectives and that’s it. Alright, since there’s no problem, let’s consider it settled." Master Foster didn’t wait for Raina to speak and then called out, "Leila! Leila, come here a moment."
Leila was happily playing with three little kids, and when she heard her grandfather call her, she hurried over, "Grandpa."
"Leila, the Void agreed to take you as an apprentice."
Leila was full of delight, "Really? Raina, you really agreed to take me?"
"Would grandpa lie to you?" Master Foster urged, "Hurry, kneel to your master."
Leila didn’t kneel.
Master Foster urged, "Quickly, don’t keep your master waiting."
Leila still didn’t move and said, "Grandpa, Raina hasn’t said she wants to take me as an apprentice herself. If I just kneel down like this, how is that any different from forcing her? I can’t do that."
Master Foster was exasperated, glaring, "Who said she didn’t say it? If I say she said it, she said it."
Leila still shook her head, her little face full of determination.
Seeing Raina not saying anything, her expression inevitably dimmed, but there wasn’t a hint of resentment.
Faye Shelby heard the commotion and came out from the bedroom, leaning against the doorframe, she said, "Master, I like this girl, quickly take her as an apprentice."
Master Foster’s spirit lifted, "Did you hear that? Your chief apprentice says she likes my girl, so what are you waiting for?"
"Why are you rushing me? Am I taking an apprentice or are you?" Raina couldn’t help rolling her eyes at Master Foster, then turned to look at Leila, "Since you appreciate me, alright, from today on, you’re my second apprentice."
Leila was stunned, unable to believe what she was hearing.
Master Foster immediately jumped up, grabbing his granddaughter, "Did you hear that? Your master said she’s taking you in, what are you standing there for, quickly bow and offer tea."
"Oh, oh." Leila snapped back to reality, and with a plop, she knelt on the ground and properly bowed three times.
Raina sat upright and accepted it, taking the tea Leila handed her and drinking a sip, "Today was prepared in haste, I will give you your apprenticeship gift another day."
At this moment, Elias Hawthorne entered with Jasper Hawthorne.
Jasper looked at the scene and remarked, "Oh, my sister-in-law is taking in an apprentice."
Leila smartly handed over another cup of tea, "Grandmaster, please have tea."
