Chapter 492: Chapter 492: No Chance to See It in This Lifetime (2)
After a pause, Raina added, "But Shea doesn’t need to worry too much. Although I appreciate the kindness of raising me, I’m not one to let others bully me. If she really doesn’t know when to stop, I won’t be too soft-hearted. Especially, I won’t let her bully you guys."
Shea rubbed against Raina’s leg, looking up with a bright-eyed face, "Raina, I feel the same way. If that old witch dares to hurt you, I won’t let her go. No one can harm my mommy."
"Yes, anyone who hurts Raina, I’ll chop off his hand!!"
Baby Hawthorne sneered, "Chopping hands? That’s nothing. ’Cool vibes’ is the correct attitude, okay?"
Raina listened to the chatter of the little ones, feeling a headache and dark lines across her forehead, as she lowered her face, "Did the reflection time end already? Do you really not want your third leg anymore?" She glanced at Shea, "And your little butt, is it itching?"
Before her words finished, the little ones rushed into the living room like a whirlwind.
Only then did Raina let out a snort.
Elias Hawthorne walked over, his black eyes sparkling with a special light, "Raina truly is a kind and sincere girl, marrying you is a blessing for me and the Hawthorne family."
"Could you be more genuine with this flattery? It’s so fake, okay?" Raina paused and then said softly, "I just told Shea a lie earlier, I really don’t care much about Brenda, I just don’t want to affect the kids. They’re still young, and I don’t want them to get embroiled in adult grudges too early. I hope they have simple, clear lives."
Raina paused again and said, "Besides, life is so boring. If we just crush Brenda like that, where’s the fun in life? Wouldn’t life be too dull?"...
The North Family.
Claire North took advantage of the empty kitchen and walked in.
She lifted the lid of the stove where chicken soup was bubbling, took a hot towel and opened the lid of the earthen pot.
The aroma of herbs wafting out invigorated Claire.
This was a therapeutic diet recipe specially prepared by Raina for the old man. It speaks volumes of Raina’s abilities.
Claire gritted her teeth, wondering where Raina got her abilities from, becoming so impressive in just a few years.
This can’t continue, or she’ll really fall into disgrace.
Claire took out the herbs Morgan Payne gave her and put them in the earthen pot.
The herb was dry, and there was a noticeable difference from the other herbs that had been stewing for a long time.
Claire, afraid of being noticed, pressed the herb down with chopsticks.
Just then, a voice came from the doorway, "Second Miss, what are you doing?"
"Ah!" Claire was startled and turned to see Auntie Warren standing at the door, "Auntie Warren, why didn’t you make any noise when you walked? Really scared me."
Auntie Warren apologized quickly, "Sorry, Second Miss, I didn’t mean it, didn’t expect to frighten you." "Alright, alright. It wasn’t intentional, I won’t make a fuss."
Auntie Warren breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank you, Second Miss. Are you here in the kitchen for something?"
"Oh, I heard that my elder sister prepared some herbal food for Grandpa, so I wanted to come and see. You know I’m a pharmacist too, I’m really interested in this."
Auntie Warren nodded knowingly, "I see, you’re here to learn some tricks, aren’t you?"
Claire’s face stiffened, but under Auntie Warren’s watchful eye, she could only nod, "I just want to learn a bit, Auntie Warren, please don’t tell anyone."
