Chapter 490: Chapter 490: Breaking Three Legs (Part 2)
Raina threw down the flower trowel in her hand and humorously said, "But you have a butt, and I’m going to let you experience the joy of spanking!"
Shea shivered with fright, "Mommy, I’m sorry, I’m sorry."
Elias Hawthorne spoke up at this point, "Raina, do you think I planted this herb correctly?"
"Yes, but you should add more soil."
"Okay." Elias gave Shea an OK gesture.
Shea was grateful to have her idol backing her up.
Raina snorted, "Don’t think I didn’t see you two exchanging looks."
Elias didn’t argue but directly changed the subject, "How’s the situation with Grandpa Raina?"
Raina was silent for a moment, then recounted what happened at the hospital today.
Elias said, "I’m afraid Mrs. North won’t agree to kneel and beg you to operate on Grandpa."
Raina wasn’t surprised at all and said calmly, "Brenda sees me as a curse and hates me to the core, so how could she possibly kneel and beg me? The only reason I agreed was just to disgust her. Besides, that is the grandfather who has protected me all these years; I can’t possibly ignore him."
"Actually, having her kneel to apologize isn’t that hard to achieve."
Raina glanced at Elias, "Elias Hawthorne, if you really did that for me, people would laugh at us."
"If I can’t ensure my wife’s peace and joy, then I might as well not be the president of The Hawthorne Group."
Raina was momentarily taken aback; it was the first time someone was willing to go all out for her.
After a while, Raina suddenly laughed, "Thank you, Elias, but really, it’s not necessary."
Just then, the doorbell rang.
"Mommy, I’ll go see who the visitor is."
"Mommy, I’ll go too."
"Me too."
As soon as they finished speaking, the three kids, along with the silly husky, rushed to the entrance like a whirlwind. Soon, they came rushing back.
Casper North hurriedly said, "Raina, the witch from The North Family and Baby’s lousy mom are here."
Raina was surprised, "You mean Brenda Adler and Claire North?"
"That’s right, it’s them. Oh, and Granny Warren, they look aggressive, definitely here to cause trouble."
Shea wasn’t too concerned, "What’s there to worry about? We’ve got two superpowers here: Baby and my idol. As long as they’re around, no matter how powerful that old witch is, she can only kneel."
Baby Hawthorne patted their chest, "Rest assured, Shea. As long as I’m here, I’ll definitely protect Raina, for sure."
Elias looked at Raina, "If you don’t want to deal with this, I’ll go open the door."
"No need. Since someone’s delivering entertainment right to our door, we should at least be hospitable. I’ll go have some fun with them." Raina threw down the trowel, dusted off her hands, and walked over slowly.
Brenda Adler had been ringing the doorbell for quite a while, and no one opened the door. Her face grew increasingly sour, and just as she was about to raise her hand to pound on the door, the door swung open.
Brenda’s hand was left hanging in the air, and upon seeing Raina at the door, she asked angrily, "Why did it take so long to open the door?"
Raina stretched lazily and grinned, "I just love listening to the sound of someone ringing a doorbell, it’s so pleasant."
"You!" Brenda fumed, "Such a lack of manners!"
Raina raised an eyebrow, "Ms. Adler, are you sure you want to discuss manners with me?"
Brenda was suddenly at a loss for words.
Claire North tugged at Brenda’s sleeve and reminded her, "Mommy."
Brenda turned her head to see Auntie Warren standing beside her and could only take a deep breath to suppress her anger.
She asked coldly, "Are you willing to personally operate on Grandpa?"
