Chapter 181: Chapter 181: All Are Ill-Fated Sinners (Part 1)

Old Master North used the communal chopsticks to pick up a dish and placed it on the plate in front of Raina, watching her eat and smiling as he asked, "Is it good?"

"It’s good." Raina smiled, "What I’ve missed the most all these years is Auntie Warren’s cooking."

Auntie Warren served a bowl of soup and placed it in front of Raina, "If the young miss enjoys it, eat more. I’ll go make a few more dishes for you."

"No need. This is already enough." Raina ate with great delight.

Old Master North originally had a poor appetite, but seeing Raina eat so heartily, he couldn’t help but have an appetite and ended up eating more than half a bowl of rice.

Auntie Warren smiled from the side, "If the young miss came back every day, it would be great. Then the old master could eat this much every day and wouldn’t have to worry about getting his health back."

Raina said, "If Grandpa is willing, you can come stay with me."

Old Master North shook his head, "No, I’ve lived here all my life, and I hope to take my last breaths here."

"Grandpa, please don’t talk like that. I don’t like hearing it."

"Birth, old age, sickness, and death are normal parts of life, nothing to worry about." Old Master North paused and said, "I know about what happened at home. Raina, this matter concerns the North Family’s reputation this time. Could you ask Elias Hawthorne if he could help our family?"

"Grandpa, this was my own doing." Raina suddenly said, "Claire North and Brenda Adler wanted to set me up with Beau Shelby, but when I found out, I countered and brought Claire down."

Old Master North was silent, his aged face filled with guilt, "Raina, you’ve been wronged."

"Hmm." Raina responded softly.

In truth, she wasn’t wronged initially. She and Claire North and Brenda Adler were originally enemies, and it was only natural for them to want to eliminate her.

But, Grandpa was different.

He was the closest person to her in the North Family.

But...

"Raina..."

"Grandpa, rest assured, this time I will let them go, but it will be the last time." Raina’s voice was cool, "Tell them not to provoke me again."

After finishing the last bite, Raina pushed back her chair and stood up, "Grandpa, it’s getting late. I’ll leave now. Please take care of yourself."

After Raina spoke, she turned and left.

Old Master North watched Raina’s departing figure, sadly saying, "This child is still blaming me. Auntie Warren, do you think I was wrong?"

Auntie Warren quickly comforted, "Old Master, you had no choice. You couldn’t just watch as the North Family was destroyed."

Old Master North’s face fell, "Karma, it’s all karma."

If only he hadn’t been so stubborn back then...

...

After leaving Old Master North’s room, Raina stood by the path, gazed at the blooming flowers for a moment, then slowly walked over.

Gideon North was overjoyed when he saw Raina, "Raina, you finally came. Please, speak up for your sister!"

Raina’s gaze swept over Gideon and then settled on Brenda Adler.

Her expression was calm and indifferent, but Brenda couldn’t help her heart skip a beat. Immediately, she was even more furious—this little brat dared to treat Claire this way. She shouldn’t have shown mercy back in the day!

However, for the sake of her daughter, she chose to bow her head in front of Raina, "Claire was truly set up, Raina, you must help her. Don’t forget that you are sisters of the same family!"

The last sentence came as a threat.

Raina couldn’t be bothered with Brenda. She paced over and glanced at the reporters, "Today’s event is a misunderstanding, an accident, an absurdity. I’m sure you all wouldn’t want to deceive the public with something like this, right?"
