Chapter 165: Chapter 165: I Will Let You Marry Me in Glory (Part 1)

Raina stayed and chatted with Grandpa North for a while. When she noticed a weary expression on his face, she helped him lie down. After he fell asleep, she quietly left the room.

"Miss Raina." Auntie Warren hurriedly caught up with her. "Old Master North wants me to tell you to leave The North Family quickly. Madam and Miss Claire are upset, and I’m afraid they might vent their anger on you. You should hurry back, don’t let them harm you."

Raina smiled faintly upon hearing this. "Auntie Warren, they can’t hurt me. The Raina today is no longer the Raina of five years ago. I don’t need to fear anyone anymore."

Auntie Warren stared blankly at Raina.

Today’s Raina was still beautiful, but her beauty was no longer like the exquisite vase-like beauty from five years ago.

She was confident and composed, carrying a subtle intimidation in her demeanor, reminiscent of what she saw in Grandpa North when he was young.

After a moment, Auntie Warren finally spoke. "No wonder the Old Master said you’re different from before."

"Auntie Warren, Raina has grown up."

"That’s wonderful." Auntie Warren said sincerely. "Miss Raina, the Old Master also wants me to tell you, whatever you want to do, just do it. Don’t worry too much about him."

Raina fell silent for a while before saying hoarsely, "Auntie Warren, tell Grandpa I will always remember my last name is North. Let him take good care of his health."

Auntie Warren genuinely smiled. "Having your word is better than anything."

Raina lowered her eyelashes to hide the glint in her eyes, smiling, "Then I’ll go up front and have a look. Take good care of Grandpa."

...

The front yard.

More and more people gathered on the open lawn, with crowds bustling everywhere.

Because of the North family’s daughter marrying into the Hawthorne Family, many people surrounded Gideon North, flattering him and inquiring about Elias Hawthorne.

Rachel Shelby held a glass of red wine and said, "See, this is the influence of the Hawthorne Family. Truly worthy of being the king of this city."

If she hadn’t met Elias Hawthorne, Claire North wouldn’t care.

To her, no matter how powerful the Hawthorne Family was, she wouldn’t be willing to marry the infamous Elias Hawthorne.

But she had met him.

Elias Hawthorne was tall, handsome, commanding, and peerlessly noble.

A man like this can ruin a woman’s life with just one glance.

And the woman who stood beside him, who belonged to him, should have been her.

Claire North had ordered herself many times not to think about it anymore. Thinking that way would drive her crazy, but she couldn’t help herself.

"Take your time, I’ll be leaving for a while."

Claire North said, and without waiting for Rachel Shelby’s response, she had already turned to leave.

Rachel Shelby stared at Claire North’s hurried departing figure, muttering to herself, "What’s going on with Claire? That’s so strange."

"Claire."

"I told you, I want to be alone, listen..." The latter part of her words got interrupted. Claire North looked at Beau Shelby who had walked in and withdrew her gaze. "Oh, it’s Beau."

"Yes, it’s me." Beau Shelby walked in. "Claire, aren’t you feeling well?"

"Yes."

"Are you upset about that matter?"

Claire was a little bewildered.

Beau Shelby didn’t see it and continued, "I’ve already talked to Raina about it. She said as long as Grandpa North agrees, the shares will be returned to you. I’ve also talked to Grandpa, and he didn’t outright refuse, so we still have a chance. I promise you, I’ll make sure you marry me with grandeur. So, Claire, don’t be upset, alright?"

"You say Raina is willing to transfer the shares to me?"
