Chapter 219: Chapter 219: No Pleasure in the Abuse (Part 1)

Fiona Yates was pressed down on Chloe Jarvis; with her weight of about a hundred pounds, Chloe could barely catch her breath.

She pushed Fiona hard and angrily said, "Get up now!"

"I’ll get up right away."

Fiona struggled to stand up, but twisted her foot and fell back on Chloe several times instead.

Chloe, overwhelmed with anger, shouted at the onlookers, "What are you staring at? Hurry up and pull her off me!"

Several Female Pharmacists rushed over, pulling Fiona away while helping Chloe to her feet.

Meanwhile, Raina North had already turned to leave.

Chloe wasn’t about to let Raina North off easily: "Raina North, stop right there!" Seeing several people standing like wooden posts, she shouted, "Get moving! Why are you spaced out? Do you really want someone like Raina to walk all over you?"

Those few Female Pharmacists were already feeling uneasy; hearing Chloe’s call and recalling her background made them steel themselves and charge at Raina North.

As Raina heard the footsteps behind her, she felt particularly helpless, realizing there was no chance of peace today.

She sighed deeply, turned swiftly, and swept her long leg out, knocking the Female Pharmacists to the ground with a thud.

The commotion was loud, attracting Aaron Warren and Claire North.

Aaron’s face changed immediately upon witnessing the scene: "Raina North, you’ve gone too far! How can you resort to violence?"

Raina glanced sideways, impatience marked her expression: "If you want to come at me, then do it quickly. If you’re chickening out, then get out of here, don’t waste my time."

Aaron was instantly provoked, "You’re asking for it!"

He charged at Raina.

Raina flexed her wrist, watching Aaron like an enraged bull, finding the situation dull.

Leila Foster returned from a phone call, stunned by the chaotic scene.

"Raina!" she called out, stepping forward to help, but was restrained.

"What are you doing?"

"I’m helping Raina, of course. Can’t you see everyone bullying her?" Leila said urgently, "Director Woods, I know you have issues with Raina, but you can’t just watch Chief Warren hit her!"

Wanda Woods frowned, "Don’t talk nonsense! When have I ever had issues with Raina North?" She paused and added, "Can’t you see Raina is the one dominating? Do you actually want her to let them go?"

Leila blurted, "Of course not."

Aaron is a troublemaker, always messing with Raina, and as for Claire North, though others praise her, Leila dislikes her, feeling she’s always wearing a mask.

Leila Foster is like a blank sheet of paper; all her thoughts are written on her face.

Wanda Woods saw this clearly; she thought this must be an animal-like intuition. It was this intuition that made Leila stand by Raina without hesitation, even when everyone else was targeting her. Considering Raina’s temperament, Leila—a young girl—likely has an exceptionally promising future.

And that’s something to be envious of.

Wanda sighed inwardly, preparing to walk over but was stopped by Leila.

"Director Woods, please don’t go over just yet."

Wanda was surprised, "Why not?"

Leila replied, "Raina’s anger hasn’t subsided yet, no rush."

Wanda chuckled, "Wait any longer, and they’ll all be black and blue. That won’t be easy to explain. Even watching bystanders like us won’t fare well."

"What’s the big deal?" Leila said confidently, "When the time comes, I’ll call my grandpa. Even the inspection team wouldn’t dare lay a finger on Raina."
