Chapter 332: Chapter 332: The Resurrected Fawn (Part 2)

She shook her head to get the man’s face out of her mind, but as soon as she looked up, she saw Elias Hawthorne leaning against the door, clearly having witnessed her embarrassment.

The room’s dim light cast shadows, and his expression carried a hint of... schadenfreude.

Raina North couldn’t help but feel annoyed: "Did you do it on purpose?"

Elias Hawthorne looked innocent: "What do you mean?"

"Of course..." Knowing that she was pretending, he insisted on not exposing her, forcing her to continue acting.

Yet, when she was about to speak, Raina couldn’t say it.

Elias looked at her quizzically, "Why aren’t you saying anything? What did I do on purpose?"

"You leave, I’m sleepy."

Raina didn’t want to talk, wrapped herself in the blanket, and played dead.

After a while, instead of hearing the door close, she heard the rustling sounds of clothes being taken off.

Suddenly, a corner of the blanket was lifted, someone crawled in.

Raina sat up with a start.

"What are you doing up here?"

Elias’s deep star-like eyes glanced at her: "This is my bed."

Raina: "...I’ll go sleep with the kids."

Raina lifted the blanket, about to get out of bed, but Elias’s large hand pulled her back, lying her down again in the same spot.

Elias’s body moved closer, his breath rhythmically warm against her face.

Their breaths intertwined, creating an unusual intimacy.

Raina felt as if all strength had been drained.

Elias’s thin lips curved into a slight arc, his deep eyes like a starry sea seemed to glow, her face was the only scenery in the halo.

"Today..." Elias spoke, his voice low and intoxicating.

Raina’s expression immediately became serious, thinking he was going to settle accounts later; she prepared herself for it.

Then she heard him continue: "How did I do today?"

Raina: "???"

What the hell?

How did I do today???

Raina’s eyes flashed, she looked seriously at the man in front of her, wondering if he meant what she thought.

After an agonizing three-second silence.

Raina was sure, the man capable of shaking Southgate with just a lift of his leg, The Great Hell King Hawthorne, was indeed seeking praise and validation.

"Uh... Not bad."

He was right on time, saying fifteen minutes, not a second more or less, just too precise.

Fortunately, he cooperated well afterward.

Though he spoke little the whole time, standing behind her, he was invincible, with excellent exorcism abilities.

"Then... a reward?"

Raina was once again taken aback, reaching out to touch his forehead: "No fever. Elias, are you okay? Could it be the antidote earlier affected your nerves?"

Elias’s face turned dark instantly: "I’m perfectly fine."

"If your nerves are fine, how come you’ve suddenly become so childish? Even your son isn’t this childish."

Elias snorted coldly: "Can I be outdone by my son?"

Raina raised an eyebrow, was he feeling proud?

Elias wouldn’t give up his benefits: "Raina, I’ve worked so hard to cooperate with your performance, even sent my own father to the detention center, don’t you think you should thank me?"

"Oh, thank you then." Raina said.

Elias raised an eyebrow: "That’s it?"

Raina retorted: "What else?"

"Well, you’re a woman who cuts ties callously." Elias knew it would be like this, yet he preferred her this way.

Well, if the mountain won’t come to him, he’ll go to the mountain.

Earn your own benefits, relying on your own abilities is nothing to be ashamed of.

He lowered his head and fiercely bit the lips he had coveted for so long...

But a few minutes later, staring at the woman below him, her expression calm, eyes wide open, without a trace of shyness or any other emotion, Elias felt somewhat defeated.

"Woman, can’t you have a normal reaction?"

"Your teeth bumped against my lips..."

Elias: "..."
