Chapter 323: Chapter 323: Beating Up Claire North (1)
Raina North entered the reception room of The Veridian Institute of Medicine; the antique room was filled with people standing or sitting—people from the Institute, the Hawthorne Family, the North Family, even bodyguards were present; it was quite the grand event.
"Such a big show, you really do think highly of me."
Raina’s gaze swept over the group of black-suited bodyguards and landed directly on Vincent Hawthorne, his wife, and Claire North.
Vincent wore a gloomy expression, seemingly wishing he could tear Raina apart. Mrs. Hawthorne, Susan Kensington, remained ever-so "elegant and poised," indifferent to the chaos around her. Claire stood like a pitiful figure beside Mrs. Hawthorne, though her eyes hid her schadenfreude and smugness.
"Raina North, you malicious woman, how dare you come here!" Aaron Warren glared at Raina in anger.
Raina leisurely found an empty chair to sit on, lazily crossed her legs, and yawned indifferently, exuding an air of arrogance.
"Why wouldn’t I dare? I’m not the one courting disaster."
If she didn’t come, how else would she teach these people a lesson?
If she didn’t come, how else would she enjoy watching their impending doom?
"My Hawthorne Family is truly unlucky to be entangled with a venomous woman like you!" Vincent fumed, clenching his teeth.
"Sister, if you hate me, take it out on me. You can hit me or scold me however you like, I won’t make a sound. Baby is just a child; how could you... how could you..." Claire covered her mouth, barely managing to say a couple of words before playing the virtuous mother role.
"Stop!"
Raina picked at her ear; she hadn’t come to watch them put on a show.
"My time is precious, please don’t waste it with this cliché and shabby performance. Let’s get to the point."
"Indeed, there’s nothing worth discussing with a woman like you. Darling, let’s get straight to business," Mrs. Hawthorne glanced at Vincent, who understood, and gestured for the secretary to hand over the prepared documents to Raina.
"Sign these papers, and whether you live or die will have nothing to do with the Hawthorne Family."
Raina glanced down at them: "Divorce agreement, confession, stock transfer... quite thoroughly prepared."
"Sister, everyone knows you incited your two children to poison Baby. If you don’t want them to end up in prison with you, it’s best to sign these according to Uncle Hawthorne’s wishes. Though you’ve been unkind to me, those two children are innocent. Rest assured, once you’re inside, I’ll convince our parents to bring the children back to the North Family."
Once they’re back at the North Family, she would ensure those brats would wish for death.
"Claire, with how cruelly this woman treats you, you’re still considering her; you’re far too kind," Aaron Warren said, as he gazed at the angelic aura surrounding the kind-hearted woman, his heart melted. When he looked at Raina, he could hardly bear to see her; how could two people be so vastly different?
Claire rubbed her reddening eyes: "She is, after all, my sister."
"Enough, who’s trying to disgust me at this hour!" Don’t they believe she could hurl all her expensive delicacies at their faces?
It’s truly enough.
Raina casually tossed the documents towards the trash bin.
The color drained from everyone’s faces.
Vincent Hawthorne: "Raina, what do you mean by this?"
"This can wait. I’m short on time; let’s deal with other matters first. Anyone unrelated should leave now; if not, suffer the consequences."
Fifteen minutes had turned into ten; her time was quite tight.
No one left the reception room, Raina pursed her lips—she had given them a chance, but they chose to stay and seek trouble.
"Could someone by the door please shut it?" Raina pointed elegantly, treating one of the Institute’s master-level experts as a doorman.
"Raina North, what trick are you up to now?" Vincent furrowed his brows, brimming with displeasure.
