Chapter 27: Chapter 27 Alice’s Satisfaction, Forming an Adventure Team
The next day.
In the private room on the second floor of the Adventurer Guild.
A girl with hair as brilliant as burning flames raised an eyebrow at Louis:
"Are you the famous Prince Enchanting Demon?"
Louis chuckled, "At most, I’m just a human with demon blood, but for now, don’t call me Louis."
"Call me Gaius Julius Caesar."
"Or just Caesar is fine."
Louis gave in.
His name stacked buffs too heavily.
So when Olivia made up a new identity for him, he decisively used the title of Emperor Caesar.
At least it stacks fewer debuffs, right!
Alice glanced at him.
The youthful spirit wasn’t evident on him; he seemed a bit mature.
She spoke, "Olivia told me you have great talent in training in sword techniques and are filled with decisiveness and courage, but at first glance, you don’t seem like it."
Louis seemed a bit surprised, "Is that how Olivia sees me? But decisiveness and courage...
it’s hard to say since I’ve never really faced danger; I wouldn’t know what state I’d be in."
Alice smiled, "So, you do think you have some talent in sword techniques?"
Louis gently tapped the scabbard Beatrice prepared for him, "I do have a bit of confidence in my learning ability."
Hearing Louis’ confident words, the tall beauty sitting across from him let out a low, cool, yet pleasant laugh.
She was a tall beauty, around the same age as Louis, approximately twenty years old.
Her downcast eyes and elegant demeanor made her stand out, even in the dimly lit private room.
Clad in a black tight-fitting outfit covered by a cloak, her alluring figure was hard to conceal.
She swirled the wine glass, sipped from it, and licked the beer foam from her thin lips with her tongue.
She was like a wild cat... perhaps a tiger.
"Just how talented are you?" Alice asked.
Louis scratched his head.
Do people in this world speak so bluntly?
He made a small gesture that would infuriate South Korea:
"Instructor Jino says my talent is just a tad weaker than his."
After Louis said this, Alice’s usual indifferent face showed a slight change.
She stood up subtly, downed the remaining beer, and once again licked the beer foam with her tongue before suddenly looking at Louis.
—Those dark eyes seemed like they could devour him whole.
"That’s... just wonderful!"
That voice was as deep as if frozen.
William, standing next to Louis, instinctively stepped forward.
A brown light flashed, and the special class skill, Damage Transfer of the Iron Guard, directly covered Louis.
He sensed a dangerous aura.
"Tsk, don’t worry, Beatrice’s man, I’m not crazy enough to pick a fight with him."
William looked at the woman warily; it was hard for him to believe her words.
But in the next moment, Alice chuckled lightly:
"Very nice, you’re much more interesting than Olivia said."
She looked down at the tip of a heart-shaped tail biting into her thigh, holding her flushed face with both hands:
"Is this the energy absorption of a demon?"
"No, not just that, it’s also simultaneously injecting paralyzing and hallucinogenic toxins?"
"Such decisive action, I was worried you might be the type to hold others back, but it seems unnecessary now."
"I like your straightforward attitude, Louis... no, Caesar, I really fancy you."
As she said things likely to be misunderstood, Alice patted his shoulder, then stood up and opened the private room door, shouting to the front desk lady delivering drinks at the Adventurer Guild:
"Darling, is there still a ’Hunting Tree Demon’ task available? Save one for me."
The front desk lady smiled as she refilled her glass:
"Lady Alice, porcelain-level tasks give priority to newcomers, even if you take it, it won’t count towards your promotion merits."
"I know, the family wants me to take on an interesting newcomer, just bring it up for me."
The front desk lady glanced into the private room, meeting Louis’ gaze.
A second later, she blushed and lowered her head, "I’ll get the task sheet."
Alice couldn’t help but whistle, turning back to say, "Your face is more reliable than my Fine Steel Adventurer status."
It wasn’t long before the front desk lady rushed back up with a large stack of documents.
"I’ve brought up the forms, but you’ll need to register as a newcomer in the guild before taking the task."
"I brought up a form for newcomer registration, you just need to fill in the information."
"The ’Hunting Tree Demon’ task is quite special; it cannot be taken directly. If you wish to receive it, you must sign with an adventurer group’s proxy."
"Lady Alice, and... this Iron Guard mister, you need to form an adventurer team or register an adventurer group to take the task with a newcomer."
"Lady Alice, you..."
Alice downed her drink, "An adventurer team or adventurer group, huh."
With a flushed face from the poison injected by Louis, the hallucinogenic poison was spreading in her body, yet she showed a calm smile.
"Long time no see, old friend! Thank you, Louis... no, Caesar."
"Let’s form an adventurer group; the perks of being Fine Steel level."
The front desk lady bowed, sliding the badge in front of her, which emitted a faint magical glow:
"Please confirm again if you want to form an adventurer group."
Alice said, "Confirmed."
Front Desk: "Please confirm the adventurer group name, Lady Alice."
Alice paused for a moment, "...call it the Moonlight Cat Cat Group."
"Huh?!" The front desk lady was stunned for a moment, hesitantly saying, "Are you sure?"
"I’m sure."
The front desk lady clenched her hands, "Honorable Fine Steel Adventurer, under the witness of the God of Contract, may order and promise illuminate your career with the adventurer group."
Alice laughed heartily, "Then I accept your wish."
Her gaze turned to Louis, "Caesar, is it okay to call you that?"
Louis nodded and curiously asked, "How strong are Tree Demons?"
Alice smiled, "Trust me, they are opponents you would surely enjoy."
Louis nodded, "I also want to change my mentality, it’s time to see some blood."
...
Meanwhile.
Inside the Imperial Palace.
Olivia happily rolled around on her bed.
"That guy, Country’s Enchantment, must have run into Alice by now, right?"
"Hehe, Alice is such a pure warrior, strict with herself and others alike."
"One year later, she would still be level 11, daring to mingle with the dragon slayer squad in the Sapphire Dragon Disaster Extermination Battle."
"Three years later, she would be level 13, slaying a mountain sub-dragon alone, and got exceptionally promoted by the Adventurer Association, becoming the titled strong ’Canghong Sword King’."
"Though she hails from a noble family, she detests noble etiquette and loathes cowardice."
"Louis, oh Louis, if you’re still afraid to face formidable enemies, then go be a rich man obediently!"
"I don’t believe it, you can’t keep winning forever!"
