Chapter 310: Chapter 310: Borrowing a Building to Make a Scene
Sang Youming and Hu Zhi’s livestream popularity grew rapidly, so much so that even Li Sulan and Chu Tian heard about their cursing livestream.
Chu Tian had always been aloof and looked down on such lowbrow tactics. He only glanced at the doll in the stream that looked 90% like him but was uglier, then turned off his phone.
"Such a pointless act. It’s just for attention! Who would actually buy into this crap?" Though he said this dismissively, Chu Tian still felt uneasy. After all, that ugly doll indeed looked disturbingly like him.
Li Sulan didn’t take the cursing livestream seriously either. On the contrary, she rather enjoyed watching Sang Youming and Hu Zhi frantically curse her in the stream.
This only proved that the couple was completely powerless against her and Chu Tian.
No matter what rumors she and Chu Tian spread about the Sang Family, they couldn’t defend themselves and could only resort to this pathetic means to vent their frustration.
But so what? At best, it might help them relieve some anger temporarily.
Ants will always be ants. No matter how much effort they put in, they can’t shake a towering tree.
"Honey, let’s eat. Don’t waste your energy on these clowns. Anyway, Sang Ning has nothing more to do with us now. Whether the Sang Family lives or dies is none of our business." Li Sulan also turned off her phone and looked at Chu Tian. A faint sneer appeared at the corners of her lips—blatant contempt and disgust for Sang Youming and Hu Zhi.
Chu Tian nodded in agreement, but suddenly, there was a cracking sound in his neck. He felt a stiff pain and realized he had a crick in his neck, unable to move it.
"Hiss—" Chu Tian couldn’t help but suck in a breath of cold air, the noise drawing significant attention.
"What’s wrong?" Li Sulan, who was eating, quickly put down her chopsticks upon hearing Chu Tian’s voice and asked with concern.
"Nothing, maybe I’ve been too tired these past few days. My neck feels a bit uncomfortable." Chu Tian massaged the back of his neck lightly with his fist, but the stiff pain didn’t ease at all.
"I’ll have the maid call a professional to give you a massage right away," Li Sulan said with apparent concern, though her impatient expression gave her away. "You’re really getting more and more useless as you age. Honestly, is there any part of you lately that feels fine?"
As she spoke, Li Sulan didn’t forget to roll her eyes at Chu Tian.
Chu Tian’s eyes widened in instant rage, a smoldering fire flickering in their depths. But remembering how every argument with Li Sulan ended, with her behaving like a madwoman who would hit and scream, he decided he couldn’t take her insanity anymore. He chose to swallow his indignation and stayed silent.
Seeing that Chu Tian didn’t dare talk back, Li Sulan, satisfied, picked up some food and took another bite.
In this household, she was still the one in charge.
But her moment of triumph didn’t last long. Suddenly, a bloody taste spread on her tongue, followed by a piercing scream.
Looking toward the source of the commotion, several teardrops glistened at the corners of Li Sulan’s eyes—tears of pain.
"What now?" Chu Tian imitated her earlier dismissive tone of concern and asked.
Li Sulan slapped the table forcefully and shot Chu Tian a deathly glare. "I bit my tongue!"
The sharp pain inside her mouth was so intense that even her speech turned slurry. Luckily, Chu Tian still understood what she said without issue.
"You’re really getting more and more useless with age. Biting your tongue at dinner—honestly, how stupid can you be?" Chu Tian retorted mockingly. To avoid escalating into another argument, he set down his chopsticks and left the dining table. "Suit yourself. I’m full."
Chu Tian walked off, supporting his stiff neck. Meanwhile, Li Sulan hissed in pain as she cursed at his retreating back.
"What rotten luck! It’s all that damn Sang Youming and Hu Zhi’s fault! Those wretched bastards, ruining my day!" Li Sulan continued cursing through her pain.
When the pain finally subsided, she rubbed her cheek and snarled venomously, "I’ll see how you think you can actually ruin me! Let’s see if you’re that powerful!"
To her, the events just now were mere minor inconveniences, not even worth connecting to the curses.
After all, when she was little, her parents had hired a master for a reading. The master predicted that barring major upheavals, she would lead a life of wealth and prosperity.
The master even added that the odds of such major upheavals were nearly zero, which practically guaranteed her luxurious lifetime.
As someone with such an excellent fate, how could she possibly be harmed by some casual curses?
Just as this thought crossed her mind, she took a spoonful of three-ingredient soup, intending to soothe herself.
But before the spoon even left her mouth, the scalding soup burned her tongue, causing her to start coughing violently.
"An accident—definitely just—cough cough cough—"
"Cough cough cough—"
"Cough cough cough—"
"Absolutely just—an accident—"
After coughing for a long while, Li Sulan managed to stammer out an entire sentence.
After leaving the dining table, Chu Tian wanted to discuss matters regarding a collaboration with Hai Chuan Entertainment with Duan Wenhu.
He had already acted on Duan Wenhu’s instructions, shamelessly spreading rumors about Sang Ning. Yet, Duan Wenhu had yet to openly bring up the collaboration. This made Chu Tian uneasy, worried he might be getting played.
He called Duan Wenhu countless times, but no one picked up. Just as Chu Tian wondered if something had gone wrong on her end, she sent him a message.
[I’m in the middle of a livestream. Let’s talk after I’m done.]
Chu Tian: ???
Livestream? Duan Wenhu was livestreaming now?!
Chu Tian rarely cared about anything beyond company affairs, including the cursing livestream by Sang Youming and Hu Zhi—which he only noticed because someone pointed it out due to its skyrocketing popularity.
With this in mind, he searched "Duan Wenhu" as a keyword and immediately saw a result that involved "livestream."
Clicking on it, he saw Duan Wenhu and her so-called younger boyfriend flirting affectionately on screen while showing off their matching couple jewelry.
Chu Tian: "..."
His face turned a riot of colors, as messy as a spilled palette. As the president of Hai Chuan Entertainment, how could Duan Wenhu degrade herself by livestreaming to sell products?
Regret surged through him. He had an ominous feeling that agreeing to smear Sang Ning wouldn’t bring him the benefits he’d hoped for. Instead, it might drag him into an abyss from which he could never escape.
Meanwhile, Sang Youming and Hu Zhi’s livestream was becoming increasingly lively.
Initially, the comment section was full of insults directed at them. But after the "cursing" gimmick went viral, viewers began to have some fun in the chat.
[Excuse me, do Sang Ning’s parents take custom curse orders? My boyfriend has been cheating on me with five other women. I’d like you to curse him so he’ll never be a man again.]
[Replying to the message above—I’d like to curse my boss. He’s always gaslighting me into working 24/7. I curse him to live this lifetime as a permanent bald man!]
