Chapter 140 The Blue Book Two (Thanks to Alliance Leader Xie Luobowan Ya)
Opening the car door and getting in, Li Cheng颐 glanced at the driver's seat.
It was a middle-aged woman with a ponytail.
"Boss, where to?"
"Just follow the navigation," Li Cheng颐 replied.
"Okay!" The woman's accent was noticeably different from that of Fuzong Province, making it clear she was from out of town.
"Are you from out of town, miss?" Li Cheng颐 asked casually, a thought striking him. "This is my first time in Yunshan County, and I get a strange feeling from the people here."
"Yes, that's a common feeling for first-timers," the female driver laughed. "For some reason, staying here always feels incredibly comfortable. Everything tastes delicious and fragrant, and your mood improves without you even realizing it. No one argues either; everything is harmonious."
"Yunshan County must have at least a million people, right? Can so many people really be that harmonious?" Li Cheng颐 asked.
"It's strange, isn't it? That's why I think the *feng shui* (geomancy) is good here. How else could something so odd happen? As far as I know, many young people who went out to work didn't stay away for long. They all say that life outside isn't as comfortable as it is in Yunshan." The female driver laughed.
"That is strange," Li Cheng颐 nodded. "Have you heard of a place called Dujia Village here?"
Dujia Village was where the boss had fallen unconscious, and also the location Song Ran had initially mentioned.
"Dujia Village? There's a famous scenic spot there called Wolf Cave. A lot of people used to come to study the geological environment and whatnot. Are you going to see Wolf Cave too?" the female driver quickly responded.
Speaking of Wolf Cave, she seemed to have endless topics to discuss. She mentioned that film crews often used the location for shooting, and experts had come to study the geology, water quality, and soil, even unearthing some ancient burial artifacts.
In short, Wolf Cave was a rather mysterious place.
Li Cheng颐 had also researched the area before coming, based on the information Song Ran had transmitted.
They had found the blue book left by Li En, which was likely located within Wolf Cave.
So, the boss, Xindela, had personally led a team to Dujia Village, intending to investigate.
But during a split-up, Xindela and Sima Gui, along with three other experienced woodland exploration experts, had all mysteriously fallen unconscious.
By the time Song Ran's team arrived, the boss was completely unconscious and never woke up.
As he listened to the driver's story, Li Cheng颐 pondered.
'It doesn't seem related to a blind spot. But since Song Ran asked me to come, there might be some hidden circumstances.'
"Boss, we're here." The driver's voice pulled Li Cheng頤 from his thoughts.
Outside the car window, a two-story white building appeared before Li Cheng颐.
To the left of the building's main entrance, a white sign with black characters read: Yunshan County Library.
A familiar figure was already standing there waiting.
The person was burly, wearing tinted sunglasses, with a serious expression, and dressed in a simple denim jacket and gray trousers.
It was Song Ran.
Li Cheng颐 paid the fare and got out of the car.
"Brother Song!" he waved.
"You're here!" Song Ran took off his glasses, his face visibly relaxing a little.
"Come in quickly. We're going through the county records, looking for clues about the boss's unconsciousness."
"Where's the boss?"
"At the hospital; they don't have the necessary life support equipment here," Song Ran sighed. "We thought this would be like before, a routine investigation of a blind spot, finding nearby blind spot individuals, and then locating traces of information left by Li En. But I never expected..."
The two spoke in low voices as they went inside.
With Song Ran's explanation, Li Cheng颐 finally understood the situation they were facing here.
"We initially found out that Li En had entered Wolf Cave and left something there. Li En was also heading for the blue book, and he actually saw it in the end. He learned that the so-called blue book didn't record how to escape the blind spot, but rather documented a special blind spot language mastered by the great calligrapher Wu Guangcheng.
Only by learning that written language could one find a true and complete way to escape the blind spot within the blind spot.
Moreover, the blue book reportedly contained some mysterious knowledge, all related to the blind spot.
So the boss wanted to come here and find the blue book that was once circulating," Song Ran said quickly.
"We did find a place called Wolf Cave here, but after investigation, we discovered that this Wolf Cave is not that Wolf Cave. The Wolf Cave that Li En entered wasn't the ordinary Wolf Cave in reality, but a blind spot called Wolf Cave."
"...A blind spot?" Li Cheng颐 frowned.
Anything involving a blind spot became dangerous and complicated.
"Yes, a blind spot," Song Ran nodded.
The two entered the library. In the reading room of the lobby, they saw Sima Gui and another strange person wrapped in a thick gray coat.
"Brother Gui... are you okay?" Li Cheng颐 noticed that Sima Gui looked unusually haggard.
"I'm fine, not dead yet... I don't want to go into that damn place a second time," Sima Gui waved his hand weakly.
"Is this the support you mentioned?" The strange person beside him suddenly raised his head, a pair of light yellow eyes staring at Li Cheng颐.
The strange person's entire head was wrapped in a layer of gray turban, revealing only his eyes.
He was about five foot three inches tall, a bit short, neither fat nor thin, with a hint of scrutiny in his cold eyes.
His voice was extremely hoarse and unpleasant, as if it had been burned.
"Mr. Mu, to find the blue book, we must enter the real Wolf Cave, but I barely managed to get in once, and I can't do it again. The danger of the blind spot Wolf Cave is far beyond my imagination. Moreover, the suppression of technological products is the strongest we've encountered in a blind spot so far."
Sima Gui explained in a deep voice.
"So, his arrival will be of use?" The person called Mr. Mu asked in a deep voice. "The blue book is stored in the depths of Wolf Cave. I don't think this young man can do that. High-frequency flashing only means it's easier to get in and out in a timely manner. But how to break through the obstacles and get the blue book is the most difficult part."
"We are preparing on two fronts now. As Mr. Mu said, finding that He family blind spot individual, He Bing, is the key to everything. And this brother of mine coming over hasn't affected our previous arrangements in any way. We can proceed simultaneously, right?" Song Ran said in a deep voice.
He looked at the somewhat puzzled Li Cheng颐 and introduced him.
"This is Mr. Mu. He's one of the blind spot individuals we met in the blind spot Wolf Cave. He's also the one who told us that the boss's unconsciousness was caused by the blue book."
"Okay, don't waste time. I may enter Wolf Cave again at any moment. The assistance you promised to provide me must be in place today!" Mr. Mu said in a low voice.
"Mr. Mu, Brother Chengyi has solved several blind spots. His arrival will definitely bring us great help..." Song Ran wanted to explain.
"Enough, other blind spots are different from Wolf Cave. You don't understand anything. If you want to save your boss, just listen to my arrangements." Mr. Mu impatiently interrupted him.
"I'm leaving first." He turned around, ignoring everyone else, and strode away.
Li Cheng颐 frowned as he watched him.
"Can someone tell me why you're listening to him?"
"Mr. Mu's goal is the same as ours. He's also here to find the blue book. And the blue book caused the boss's unconsciousness.
According to the other experts who fell unconscious and woke up, they personally saw the boss take the blue book handed to him by that He Bing and read it before they knew anything else," Sima Gui answered.
"So, to figure out why the boss is unconscious, we have to get the blue book first, right?" Li Cheng颐 asked.
"That's right. The blue book is likely in the depths of Wolf Cave now. We don't know how that He Bing got it, but he did get it and put it back, so we must find him as soon as possible.
Because we've tried it, we can't enter Wolf Cave to get the blue book. Only He Bing knows how to enter safely. He probably has the escape method for the Wolf Cave blind spot," Sima Gui explained.
"So, whether for the blue book or the escape method, we must find He Bing," he concluded.
"Then where is He Bing now?" Li Cheng颐 had a headache; there were too many uncertainties here.
"We don't know. That's what's giving us a headache. After a blind spot individual temporarily leaves, if he deliberately hides, no one knows who he really is or where he is," Song Ran said helplessly.
"Which hospital is the boss in? Let's go see him first." Li Cheng颐 thought of his radiance force field. No matter what, he would try it first. If he could cure him, it would be one less major concern.
"In the Second People's Hospital of the county. I'll take you there," Song Ran said. "The company's medical experts are there, as well as hired bodyguards, so security is no problem."
"Also... that Mr. Mu, I don't have a good feeling about him. Be careful when listening to his advice. Don't believe everything he says," Li Cheng颐 said seriously.
"Don't worry, we're not that easily fooled. We've been following the boss for so many years after all," Song Ran nodded affirmatively. "Mr. Mu was the one who led us to the place where the boss and the others fell unconscious. His goal is simple: he needs us to support him with money and resources. The blue book is just a book. It's not like if one person reads it, others can't. So there's no fundamental conflict of interest between us."
"..." Li Cheng颐 didn't say much.
Song Ran had been following the boss for so many years. Did he not have any idea who was giving the suggestions?
"I'll go to Wolf Cave once after I see the boss and try to flash in. Brother Song, you can wait outside to respond. Brother Gui, do you want to try with me?" he asked in a deep voice.
"Okay!" Sima Gui gritted his teeth, feeling that he should try again for the boss's sake.
"But you better be careful. I've been to Wolf Cave, and it's very dangerous. The real danger isn't the large cave entrance, but after you go in, there's a very mysterious and dangerous special blue cave.
That blue cave emits a blue light and will suddenly and intermittently unleash a powerful attraction, sucking in everything around it."
"Blue cave?" Li Cheng颐 narrowed his eyes. "Do you know what's inside the cave?"
"We don't know. We tried testing it with ropes, but all the ropes that went in disappeared out of thin air. According to Mr. Mu, that blue cave is a non-door," Sima Gui said in a deep voice.
"Non-door? What's that?" This was the first time Li Cheng颐 had heard the term.
"Mr. Mu said that blind spots are portals that connect all the worlds we can perceive. That is, they are the edges of our perception," Song Ran explained from the side.
"And outside the blind spots... is a collective term for all places outside of perception."
"That blue cave is a natural non-door that connects to what's beyond perception. That is, a door that cannot be perceived."
