Chapter 484 Cannot Descend the Mountain

The sky slowly darkened.

As Xiao Liang Mountain was sparsely populated, it immediately became quiet once night fell.

When Du Fei finally slowly woke up, the first thing he saw upon opening his eyes was the faint starlight filtering through the canopy and branches.

He truly never expected to still be alive.

Du Fei had thrown out the small milky white sword, thinking he would be killed by the black masked man’s palm strike, but unexpectedly, his life proved resilient, and he miraculously survived.

Thinking of the black masked man, Du Fei pushed himself up with his hand, intending to sit up.

“Hiss!”

But immediately, a wave of immense pain surged through his entire body, and Du Fei slumped back down.

He lay there for a good ten minutes before feeling the pain in his body lessen slightly.

Just as he tried to sit up, Du Fei felt as though every part of him was about to split open from the pain.

However, Du Fei comforted himself, telling himself that no matter how much it hurt, he was still alive, and that was the most important thing.

Once he rested a bit longer and gathered some strength, he could try to sit up slowly again.

Boom.

Boom.

As Du Fei lay on the ground waiting to recover, a loud rumbling sound came from the ground.

When he turned his head to look, a giant like an iron tower appeared.

Then, with just a few steps, the giant reached him.

Du Fei looked at the approaching giant, a bitter smile appearing on his face.

He had been fortunate to escape the giant last time, but he never dreamed he would return here so quickly.

Now that he couldn't move, falling into the giant’s hands meant certain doom.

However, just as the giant was about to reach Du Fei, his steps halted.

The giant bent down, picked up something from the ground, and then approached Du Fei.

Whoosh.

The giant’s palm, as large as a fan, appeared beside Du Fei and slowly opened.

Du Fei clearly saw the small milky white sword he had used to deal with the black masked man before he lost consciousness, lying quietly in the giant’s palm.

Was he going to give it to him?

Seeing the giant holding his palm open, right beside him, Du Fei made a guess.

Du Fei was no longer as afraid of the giant as he was before. After all, even when he was in perfect condition, he wasn't the giant's match. Now, gravely injured, the giant could crush him with a single finger.

Since the giant hadn’t attacked him yet, it was clear he had no intention of killing him.

Du Fei mustered all his strength, took the small milky white sword from the giant's palm, and said thank you.

The giant stared at Du Fei for a while, then turned and left.

Seeing the giant depart, Du Fei's tense mood finally relaxed.

Although the giant had never shown any intention of attacking him, Du Fei couldn’t communicate with him and had no idea what he was thinking. Therefore, even if the giant decided to kill him the next second, Du Fei would be powerless to resist.

People always feared the unknown, and Du Fei was no exception.

Seeing the giant completely disappear, Du Fei felt his eyelids grow heavy. Coupled with his extreme fatigue from the day, he simply let his head fall to the side and fell asleep.

After an unknown amount of time, Du Fei was woken by a jolt.

Reluctantly opening his eyes, he was surprised to find the giant standing beside him once again.

Seeing Du Fei awake, the giant pointed to the side of his head.

Du Fei looked and saw several fruits lying on the ground that he had never seen before.

“Are these fruits for me to eat?”

Du Fei pointed at the fruits, then at himself.

The giant nodded his massive head.

Seeing the giant nod, Du Fei reached out and picked up one of the fruits.

As the fruit was about the size of an apple, Du Fei could only pick up one at a time.

Seeing the giant staring at him with unblinking eyes, Du Fei didn’t care anymore. He brought the fruit, which looked greenish and had a rough skin, to his lips and took a bite.

Despite its ordinary appearance and somewhat rough skin, the fruit was surprisingly not hard to bite.

Perhaps it was because Du Fei was hungry, but after a few bites, he found the fruit quite delicious.

Crunch, crunch.

Du Fei sped up, and soon, one fruit was gone.

Then, he picked up another.

After all the fruits were consumed, Du Fei patted his stomach with satisfaction and let out a burp.

Hoo hoo hoo.

Just as Du Fei burped, a deep gruff sound came from beside him. Du Fei turned his head and saw that the giant next to him was grinning, as if laughing.

However, the giant’s face was unkempt, and his facial hair was too dense, making it difficult to discern clearly.

Moreover, after the fruits had been in his stomach for a while, Du Fei vaguely felt that the injured parts of his body no longer hurt as much.

He never would have dreamed that the fruits the giant gave him, besides filling his stomach, also had healing properties.

It was truly thanks to these fruits that his stomach was full and his injuries had significantly lessened.

Du Fei stood up, intending to leave.

After all, he had been gone for a day and a night, and he figured many people must be looking for him. If he didn’t go back soon, it would be troublesome.

As for calling someone, Du Fei had thought of this the first time he regained consciousness, but after continuous pursuit and escape, his phone was long gone.

“Thank you, giant. If it weren't for you this time, I would likely be dead. If I have the chance another day, I will definitely come back to thank you.”

Although he had decided to leave Xiao Liang Mountain, he hadn’t forgotten that he was able to escape the Lord of Kunlun thanks to the giant before him.

Hmm hmm hmm.

Seeing Du Fei about to leave, the giant immediately extended his hand and waved it at him repeatedly.

At first, Du Fei didn’t understand what the giant meant.

Then, Du Fei spent a full hour communicating with the giant, using gestures and guesswork, before finally understanding.

It turned out the giant was telling Du Fei that the Lord of Kunlun had not left and was still somewhere below Xiao Liang Mountain.

He had only temporarily retreated because their battle had been a stalemate.

Du Fei then noticed that the giant had many wounds on his body.

Even though they were starting to scab over, the battle must have been incredibly fierce at the time.

The Lord of Kunlun was still waiting at the foot of the mountain?

This was a terrible predicament.

Let alone his current condition, even a healthy Du Fei was no match for him. Du Fei was now troubled.

Although, on Xiao Liang Mountain, with the giant’s protection, the Lord of Kunlun wouldn't dare to come up and kill him, he still had to descend the mountain eventually.

Moreover, Du Fei had just tried to communicate with the giant, asking him to protect him as he descended, but the giant repeatedly shook his head, clearly indicating it was impossible.

Would he be trapped here for the rest of his life?

Du Fei slumped back down, dejected.
