At the entrance of the VIP lounge, Du Fei pulled open the door, about to enter.
He saw a girl standing inside the lounge, looking very much like the photo Liu Shishi had sent him.
He tentatively called out, and the girl indeed looked over at him.
"Who are you?"
The girl spoke, her voice clear and loud.
This question further confirmed Du Fei's suspicion about her identity, so he walked over and told her that he was Liu Shishi's boyfriend, responsible for picking her up.
"Oh, so you're my cousin's boyfriend?"
The girl was Liu Yingting.
When she heard Du Fei introduce himself as Liu Shishi's boyfriend, she began to scrutinize him carefully.
Even though Liu Yingting was a young girl not yet twenty, her gaze when sizing someone up was anything but polite.
Du Fei frowned slightly but said nothing.
Immediately after, Liu Yingting followed Du Fei to the airport parking lot.
"Well, I'll be. You dress pretty plainly, but your car is quite nice."
Liu Yingting looked at the Mercedes-Benz van and then turned to Du Fei.
Du Fei smiled and remained silent.
After getting into the car, Liu Yingting spoke again, "By the way, Du Fei, how did you win over my sister? Back then, there were so many people chasing her, whether they were rich or handsome – you could line them up for three miles. I never expected you to be the one who ended up winning her heart."
"Oh really? So many people were pursuing your sister? Perhaps I was just lucky."
Du Fei knew that Liu Shishi had many suitors, but he had no intention of discussing this with a young girl, so he brushed it off.
Subsequently, no matter how Liu Yingting pressed for details, Du Fei remained vague, never directly answering.
Soon, the young girl, huffing with annoyance, fell silent.
Du Fei was driving and initially planned to take Liu Yingting to Liu Shishi's company. However, halfway there, he received a text message from Liu Shishi saying she was still in a meeting with clients and asked him to take Liu Yingting around Rongcheng first, and they would have dinner together later.
Du Fei naturally replied with "no problem," though he was somewhat reluctant to continue escorting such an ill-mannered girl who said whatever came to her mind.
"Your cousin is busy for now. She asked me to show you around. Where would you like to go?"
After replying to Liu Shishi's message, Du Fei turned to Liu Yingting and asked.
The girl had been silent, playing on her phone, so Du Fei had left her be.
But now that Liu Shishi had sent a message, Du Fei couldn't continue ignoring her.
"Take me to Jiulong City."
Liu Yingting said, then turned her head to the side with a blank expression.
Seeing that the girl was still sulking, Du Fei didn't say much more and quietly turned his attention back to driving.
Jiulong City was an old district in Rongcheng.
In recent years, as Rongcheng developed better and better, some of its old districts gradually became insufficient to accommodate the ever-increasing population, leading to the development of new areas.
Because the new districts were built with the latest architectural concepts, coupled with the relocation of administrative departments and good schools, the focus of Rongcheng's development naturally shifted towards the new districts.
Years passed, and the old districts were no longer as glorious as they once were.
However, due to Rongcheng's large population, the old districts still retained some vitality.
Du Fei didn't ask why Liu Yingting wanted to go to Jiulong City.
He wasn't her babysitter; he was just entrusted by Liu Shishi to pick her up.
If Liu Shishi hadn't been delayed in her meeting, Du Fei would have already handed Liu Yingting over to her.
Half an hour later, the car arrived at Jiulong City.
Next, Liu Yingting named a milk tea shop.
Upon reaching the location, without waiting for Du Fei to speak, Liu Yingting yanked open the car door and ran out.
Seeing this, Du Fei naturally followed.
Although Du Fei disliked Liu Yingting's lack of restraint, she was Liu Shishi's cousin, and he had a responsibility to ensure her safety.
If Liu Yingting had run off without a word and something happened, Du Fei would have no way to explain it to Liu Shishi.
"Why are you following me?"
Liu Yingting got out of the car. As she neared the entrance of the milk tea shop, she noticed Du Fei had also followed.
So she turned around, staring at him coldly.
"Since your cousin asked me to pick you up, I am responsible for your safety until I hand you over to her personally."
Du Fei said calmly.
Liu Yingting snorted, "I don't need it. I'm not a three-year-old child; I don't need you watching me."
With that, she turned and walked into the milk tea shop.
However, when she saw Du Fei still following her, Liu Yingting glared at him fiercely.
But Du Fei completely ignored her gaze and chose a table near the door where he could see her.
Seeing that her glare had no effect on Du Fei, Liu Yingting had no choice but to give up.
She chose a table by the window and took out her phone to send messages.
Shortly after, Liu Yingting and Du Fei each ordered a milk tea.
Liu Yingting occasionally glanced out the window, as if waiting for someone.
Du Fei found it strange. According to Liu Shishi, after Liu Yingting settled abroad, she only returned occasionally during holidays and shouldn't have many friends.
So why did she seem to be waiting for someone now?
However, this was not his concern. In another two or three hours, Liu Shishi would be free, and once he handed the girl over, his job would be done.
As for what Liu Yingting did during this time, he would let her be.
About ten minutes later, a fashionably dressed young man entered the milk tea shop.
The young man wore large headphones and the trendiest brand-name clothing of the moment. Upon entering, he began looking around.
When he spotted Liu Yingting, the young man immediately walked over to her.
Soon, the two began conversing excitedly.
After the young man said something, Liu Yingting hesitated slightly and then pointed at Du Fei, who was sitting by the door, with her finger.
The young man glanced at Du Fei, then his eyes darted around. He then leaned close to Liu Yingting's ear and whispered a few words.
Upon hearing this, Liu Yingting immediately revealed a mischievous smile and nodded vigorously.
The young man took out his phone and started making a call.
Not long after, more people entered the milk tea shop.
This time, the newcomers glanced at the young man. Seeing him point towards Du Fei's location, they walked directly towards him.
"You, get out of here."
The leader of the newcomers spoke.
Du Fei glanced at him and then continued to look down at his phone.
Seeing that Du Fei was ignoring him, the man directly reached out to grab Du Fei's shoulder.
Unexpectedly, before his hand could reach Du Fei's shoulder, it was already caught.
"If you don't want trouble, leave now."
Du Fei's voice was cold.
However, the man was acting on instructions and naturally wouldn't give up.
He then called out to his companions, intending to teach Du Fei a lesson.
To their surprise, in the blink of an eye, Du Fei had them all subdued on the ground.
At this point, staff from the milk tea shop rushed over.
Du Fei subconsciously looked up towards Liu Yingting's seat.
To his astonishment, Liu Yingting was nowhere to be seen.
Du Fei was greatly alarmed and rushed over.
When he reached where Liu Yingting had been sitting, Du Fei discovered that right next to Liu Yingting's seat was a small door. However, it had been covered by a curtain, and Du Fei's seating position meant he couldn't see it, so he hadn't noticed.
But in the blink of an eye, Liu Yingting had vanished.
