Chapter 469: Chapter 469: Your Son Has Been Stopped
"After you fell into a coma, I exercised tight control over the information and didn’t let anything slip. I apologize, I wasn’t aware that Miss Vaughn needed to be informed about your presence at the family residence beforehand," Miyi Yates bowed her head, biting her lip apologetically.
In essence, Cyrus Hawthorne, serving as the current Family Head of the Hawthorne Family, has actions and safety that can easily impact the entire family’s operation.
To prevent opportunists from using his coma to create unrest, blocking information and ensuring his absolute safety is the primary duty of the guards.
So Miyi’s actions in this regard are indeed reasonable, finding no fault in them.
"That’s enough." Cyrus Hawthorne coldly retracted his gaze, saying no more, "You may leave."
"Yes, please rest well."
...
It’s been more than two hours since Laura Quinn and Ann Vaughn lost contact, and Bella Hawthorne initially thought there might have been some delay along the way.
But even the driver’s phone, which cannot be reached, seems too strange.
"Mom is currently in a place with a signal jammer, so we can’t locate her precise whereabouts, but from the data transmitted by the necklace, she hasn’t been harmed," Kenny sat on the sofa with a serious look on his cute face, fat little hands working quickly, constantly pulling up road monitoring to search for Ann Vaughn’s figure.
"Could it be that the family over there simply hasn’t let your mom out? Otherwise, my mom should have contacted me already." Bella Hawthorne fretted so much that her mouth was drying up, pacing around the living room.
"We won’t know until we go and see." After finishing, Little Dumpling smoothly put away the mirror in his hand, jumped off the sofa, and strode with short legs toward the door, "We’re going to the family residence."
Luckily, Bella Hawthorne had just gotten her driver’s license recently, and although not too experienced in driving, she managed to safely arrive at the villa in the family residence’s back mountain.
But as soon as they were about to get off the car, Kenny felt like he was about to throw up, his face turning pale, "Auntie, promise Kenny that you’ll never drive alone again."
For everyone’s sake.
"Uh haha, auntie isn’t too familiar with this car yet, but once I am, I’ll take you for a spin!" Bella Hawthorne chuckled dryly, making bold promises.
Kenny silently pushed open the car door, got out, and closed the door behind him. He then saw guards stationed by the classical-style villa building, the outside surrounded by a black wall, the imposing gates guarded heavily, exuding a solemn aura that made one hesitant to approach.
"Where did this little rascal come from? This is no place for a child’s play, leave quickly!" The guards soon noticed Little Dumpling’s presence, shooting fierce glances their way.
"Oh wow, brother, you sure know how to throw your weight around, addressing the little prince of the Hawthorne Family so imperiously. Does that mean you don’t respect my brother either?" Hearing Little Dumpling being reprimanded, Bella Hawthorne slammed the car door and walked over, pointing at them, "Let us in, we have urgent matters to discuss with Cyrus Hawthorne!"
The guards exchanged glances, one of them nodded and walked towards the main gate.
"We will seek instructions from above; whether or not you can enter depends on their decision," the guard said.
This is the family territory, not some random place. Even with Bella Hawthorne and Kenny’s legitimate identities, without orders, they couldn’t recklessly let anyone inside.
Upon hearing this, Bella Hawthorne’s expression dulled, and she turned to the slightly dazed Kenny watching the guards, saying, "Look, my brother’s strict and rigid subordinates are just like him... J.B., what are you looking at?"
Little Dumpling eyed the guard’s waist where a seemingly ordinary black baton was carried, which would transform into a highly lethal weapon when deployed.
These guards may never realize that such a weapon’s blueprint originated from the hands of a little child...
Inside the villa, with Leo Lowell and Levi Lowell’s positions suspended and undergoing penalties, the guards directly reported the matter to Miyi Yates for her decision.
"Miss Miya, since they are the Family Head’s sister and little prince, do you think it would be better to let them in?"
"The Family Head has just woken up, and Dr. Kane repeatedly reminded us to ensure good rest and recovery for the Family Head... Why do they remain so negligent and come to disturb at such a time?" Miyi Yates gently countered.
The guards paused for a moment, "You’re right, I know what to do now."
"Go ahead, thank you for your hard work."
"It’s our duty."
In less than ten minutes, the guard returned to Bella Hawthorne and Kenny, saying, "The Family Head cannot see you, please leave here promptly."
Cannot see them?
Kenny suddenly furrowed his little eyebrows, his cute face turning somber, these people couldn’t possibly be lying to them, could they?
"Is this really my brother’s direct order? Or is it someone else’s word?" Bella Hawthorne refused to believe their nonsense, promptly questioning.
Just as the guard was about to respond, he noticed his waist communicator being snatched away by a small hand. As he reached to retrieve it, Kenny swiftly dodged!
"Hey! You brat!"
Kenny paid them no mind, quickly finding the most crucial set of numbers on the communicator, ready to dial—
The next moment, the communicator in Little Dumpling’s hand was forcefully snatched by the guard, causing him to topple to the ground, the scraping pain on his knee biting, making Little Dumpling grit his teeth.
Almost...
"Kenny!" Bella Hawthorne exclaimed, rushing over to check on Kenny’s condition.
Meanwhile.
In the master bedroom on the fifth floor, calming incense wafted lazily, filling the air with a faint fragrance.
Cyrus Hawthorne reclined near the headboard, eyes lowered to the documents he held, his expression cool and focused, showing no trace of emotion.
Knock knock.
The sudden knocking sound echoed, but before there was any response from inside, Dragon defied convention by saying, "Your son is at the door, blocked by the guards."
Kenny blocked?
Cyrus Hawthorne slightly frowned in irritation, quickly discarding the document in hand, throwing off the covers, and leaving the master bedroom with only a robe.
Once the man’s figure vanished into the elevator, Dragon leisurely straightened from against the wall, crossing his arms with a smug step forward.
"Aren’t you a bit out of line?" Miyi Yates approached Dragon from behind, her pretty face tinged with derision, "Your role is to serve the Family Head, prioritize everything for him."
Dragon halted, turned back to gaze at Miyi Yates, with a wild and unconstrained smile, "Don’t try to bind me with your rules and illusions, Miss Self-Righteous."
After saying this, Dragon casually walked away, utterly unconcerned with what Miyi Yates had said.
Perhaps the increasingly closer scent of freedom was causing his true nature to resurface.
