Chapter 190: When the White Moonlight Fades

Chapter 190: Chapter 190: When the White Moonlight Fades

Two years later.

The Qin family’s Fenghe Hospital.

"Ah..."

"It hurts too much..."

"I don’t want to give birth anymore!"

Xiao Li, in her white coat, had just reached the delivery room when she heard increasingly louder cries of pain, even before she entered.

With a slight smile, Xiao Li pushed open the delivery room door and saw Feng Qing lying on the bed, crying out in pain while enduring the contractions.

Beside the bed, Dai Zihan and Xiao Wenjing were going crazy from her cries of pain.

Feng Qing had been screaming not for just a minute or two, but for several hours now.

Since she was admitted for abdominal pain, they had been with her the whole time, and each time a contraction hit, Feng Qing had to scream until it ended, then stop.

Xiao Li walked over to Feng Qing’s side, "Crazy woman, you should save some energy for later! How are you going to manage when the real labor starts if you keep screaming like this now?"

Feng Qing, terror in her voice, asked, "What do you mean? Is it going to hurt more than this during labor?"

Xiao Li rolled her eyes, "What else did you expect? You’re in the medical field, don’t ask such silly questions, okay?"

Hearing that, Feng Qing felt like dying.

Ah!

Why do women have to give birth?

She never wants to give birth again!

Damn Huo Zhi, stinky Huo Zhi!

I’m here fighting for my life to have your baby, and you’re enjoying your time in a warm embrace, you bastard!

Just as Feng Qing finished cursing Huo Zhi in her heart, the delivery room door opened, and Huo Zhi burst in with a cold aura.

Seeing the main character arrive, Xiao Li called Dai Zihan and Xiao Wenjing out.

Out of the delivery room, Xiao Li took Dai Zihan and the others to sit on the chairs in the corridor for a while.

A nurse walked by and greeted, "Doctor Xiao!"

Xiao Li nodded and smiled in response.

After giving birth to Little Li, Xiao Li didn’t return to work at B City First Hospital.

The workload there was too intense, and after experiencing those things, Xiao Li didn’t want to be so busy anymore once she started working.

But she didn’t want to just idle at home either, so she came to work at her family’s hospital, because it’s a private hospital and the work isn’t as demanding as at a public hospital.

Once seated, Dai Zihan asked, "Little Li, did you call Huo Zhi over?"

Xiao Li shook her head, "No, Huo Zhi called me, asking if Feng Qing had run off to B City, so I told him."

Hearing this, Dai Zihan said, "Sigh... We never thought the crazy woman could be so dramatic, why did she become so troublesome after getting pregnant?

It’s almost her due date, and she still flew to B City just to spite Huo Zhi.

As soon as we got off the plane, she goes into labor. You have no idea, Wenjing and I went to the airport to pick her up, and when she said she was in labor, we were all frozen!"

Xiao Wenjing chimed in, "Exactly, not to mention being startled by her at the airport, I was already freaked out when she called me in the morning saying she was at the airport!

Who would have thought someone so close to giving birth would still get on a plane!

When Zihan and I got to the airport, we picked her up, and as soon as we got in the car, she said her stomach hurt.

I was losing my mind at that point!"

Xiao Li chuckled lightly, "Pregnant women’s emotions are naturally unstable. The feelings between the crazy woman and Huo Zhi were her initiative, and she’s always been the weaker party in this relationship.

At this time, Huo Zhi’s first love came back, do you think she’d feel okay?"

Speaking of Huo Zhi’s first love, Xiao Wenjing quickly asked, "Little Li, will Huo Zhi and Feng Qing really break up because of Huo Zhi’s ex-girlfriend?"

Xiao Li shook her head, "A first love, if they don’t appear again, will always be a first love.

But once they reappear, they risk falling from grace."

Xiao Li wasn’t too worried about Feng Qing and Huo Zhi’s situation. Someone like Huo Zhi’s ex-girlfriend, if she remained just a memory, Huo Zhi might treasure that memory.

Now that she insists on stepping out of the past, she has to vacate that corner of Huo Zhi’s heart too.

The three of them continued chatting idly, and as they talked, Xiao Wenjing suddenly asked, "Little Li, Zihan, you’ve both given birth, is it really that painful?

I mean, the crazy woman’s screams were terrifying!"

Xiao Wenjing had married Zhou Junren, but she’s the only one among their girlfriends who hasn’t had a child yet.

Probably scared by Feng Qing just now.

Xiao Li smiled, "Wenjing, you were scared by the crazy woman!

Everyone knows giving birth is painful, but pain tolerance varies from person to person, some handle pain better, some less so.

And everyone has different labor durations, so you can’t generalize it.

The crazy woman’s screams are more because she’s aggrieved and needs to vent, which is actually good. If she kept it bottled up, she’d explode someday.

It’s better to explode now than to have a cold heart and explode later."

Dai Zihan and Xiao Wenjing both nodded in agreement.

The three of them sat outside for about an hour. The doctor responsible for Feng Qing entered the delivery room to check on her, finding that her cervix was sufficiently dilated, and immediately transferred her to the delivery room.

Huo Zhi went in with her.

Xiao Li and Dai Zihan stayed outside the delivery room, waiting for around two hours. Feng Qing finally gave birth, to a daughter.

After Feng Qing and the baby were moved from the delivery room to a ward, Xiao Li, Dai Zihan, and Xiao Wenjing left.

However, Xiao Li discussed with Huo Zhi on how to care for Feng Qing, and with Huo Zhi’s agreement, arranged for a maternity nurse from the neighboring postpartum center to care for Feng Qing, with plans for her to move directly into the center after discharge.

After arranging for Feng Qing, Xiao Li finished work and, stepping out of the hospital entrance, Qin Xiao was there waiting.

Picking up Xiao Li after work was something Qin Xiao had done every day for years, unless there was a special reason preventing him, otherwise he would always pick her up if she worked.

Xiao Li took a few quick steps and jumped into his embrace, something the hospital security had long grown used to.

They’ve been seeing it for almost a year now; they’re accustomed to it.

"Uncle, have you been waiting long?"

Qin Xiao, wrapping his arms around Xiao Li, led her to the parking lot, "Not really."

Though Qin Xiao said it wasn’t long, Xiao Li knew he must have arrived at her usual finish time to wait here, even if Xiao Li had texted him before. Sending a text was futile, as he preferred to wait at the hospital entrance rather than go home early, leaving Xiao Li to go back alone.

Once they got in the car, Qin Xiao handed a bag of chestnuts to Xiao Li, who was surprised, "Why did you bring snacks today?"

Qin Xiao smiled, "When I drove to the hospital, I saw someone selling them. Knowing you might get off work late, I thought I’d buy some."

Hearing this, Xiao Li smiled, opening the bag as she said, "Perfect timing, I’m just a bit hungry!"
