Chapter 72 Resurrection of Fang Ming

"Stop! Stop!" A shout suddenly rang out from not far away. Nannan's hands paused upon hearing the familiar voice, and her gaze immediately turned towards the source of the sound.

"Miss Nannan, please stop. I have a way to save Fang Ming!"

Zheng Zhu Liu ran over, panting. He had discovered the situation earlier but had been too timid to approach until he saw Nannan about to kill Qing Mian, forcing him to reveal himself.

"Fang Ming…" Nannan repeated the name, as if something deep in her memory was about to surge forth, causing a dull ache in her head.

"Are you serious?" Qing Mian, disregarding his current state, asked with surprise.

"Professor's research includes methods for reviving Fiends. Fang Ming's current condition is likely very similar to that of a Fiend, so it might work!" Zheng Zhu Liu speculated.

"Then what are we waiting for? Hurry and take Fang Ming!"

Qing Mian glanced at the still-dazed Nannan, who was no longer attacking him. He quickly rushed to Fang Ming's side and picked him up.

"What do we do next?" Qing Mian asked, standing before Zheng Zhu Liu.

"Follow me." Zheng Zhu Liu led the way, heading rapidly towards the computers, with Qing Mian quickly following.

Nannan, having regained her senses, looked at them and then had Xue Mang carry her to follow. Perhaps only by reviving this "Fang Ming" could she learn some things.

Zheng Zhu Liu led Qing Mian, who was carrying Fang Ming, to a black cultivation tank and pointed at it.

"Put Fang Ming in there. I'll operate the console for the subsequent cultivation. According to the professor's experimental data, as long as Fang Ming isn't completely dead, this can revive him."

Qing Mian nodded solemnly, then entered the chamber with Fang Ming. Moments later, Fang Ming's body appeared in the black nutrient solution, and Qing Mian reappeared beside Zheng Zhu Liu.

"Keep an eye on things here," Zheng Zhu Liu instructed before rushing back to the computer.

Nannan had also followed, her gaze fixed on Fang Ming in the nutrient solution, her expression softening in a way she herself didn't realize.

"Gurgle, gurgle…" The nutrient solution suddenly began to bubble, and numerous pipes at the top pumped in various colored medicines, which dissolved into the solution.

Does it work?

Qing Mian stared anxiously at the cultivation tank. Nannan cast him a strange glance.

"You are a Fiend, but do you worry for others?" Nannan's clear, cold voice rang out, devoid of curiosity, merely a question.

"Perhaps," Qing Mian chuckled lightly. He himself didn't understand why he was so worried about Fang Ming's safety, given they hadn't known each other for long.

Furthermore, Fiends were not known for their rich emotions. Qing Mian's current behavior exceeded certain limits.

"Your feelings for him run much deeper than mine," Qing Mian sighed. "Otherwise, you wouldn't have ended up like this."

"Oh?" Nannan questioned, then fell silent.

They watched the changes in the cultivation tank in silence. As more medicines were introduced, the liquid inside became even darker, and Fang Ming's figure, once visible through the solution, was now completely obscured.

Eighteenth Floor Penthouse.

The Professor looked at Nannan and the others with astonishment.

"I never expected this little girl to contain such terrifying resentment, causing her to transform from a Fierce Fiend to a Nether Fiend through extreme emotion."

He had some understanding of Nannan's current state.

Nether Fiends were beings superior to Fierce Fiends. They could be considered sources of resentment, often accompanied by a primeval Fiend Beast, which was the distinguishing mark between Fierce and Nether Fiends.

If Fierce Fiends' attacks transcended physical damage, then Nether Fiends' attacks directly touched something fundamental. Like Nannan now, the Professor had glimpsed some clues; her connection was likely to blood.

Anything that touched blood was controlled by her, even given life.

However, no matter how Nannan changed, it was merely an "added surprise" for the Professor. Nannan's strength, however great, was only the principal's target. His true target was someone else entirely.

"Don't disappoint me…" A sinister smile curved the Professor's lips as he looked towards the cultivation tank.

Inside the black cultivation tank, a large amount of nutrient solution surged into Fang Ming's body, beginning to alter his physique comprehensively.

Fang Ming's body, after being fully immersed, rapidly dehydrated, becoming skeletal. A large amount of medicine remained within him, transforming his body.

From muscle fibers to the very marrow of his bones, the changes were all-encompassing and thorough. Even his blood began to change color, and his hair grew rapidly, turning a striking shade of purple.

Fine scales emerged across his skin, shimmering with a faint purple light. His broken right hand regrew, completely replacing his original Fiend body.

However, the newly formed arm was vastly different from his original, resembling a bizarre beast claw, somewhat like the Dragon Man arms in movies. Yet, visually, it was far more appealing than his previous tentacles.

"Thump, thump, thump…" A faint heartbeat sounded.

"He's alive?" Qing Mian outside the cultivation tank exclaimed excitedly. He heard the heartbeat from within the tank—it was Fang Ming! Fang Ming was alive!

Now, all they could do was wait for Fang Ming to wake up!

Time trickled by. Qing Mian, like a man awaiting the birth of his child, paced restlessly outside the cultivation tank, fearing any potential mishap.

An hour later.

Zheng Zhu Liu came running, out of breath.

"Why did you run over here?" Qing Mian's heart sank upon seeing Zheng Zhu Liu. Had something gone wrong?

"All the medication in the program has been administered. Fang Ming should be fully revived in about two more hours, but…" Zheng Zhu Liu's tone was hesitant.

"But what?" Qing Mian was nearing his breaking point. Why were these people taking so long now?

"It's just that I discovered some strange side effects from these medications, such as… such as becoming a monster…" Zheng Zhu Liu spread his hands helplessly.

"Becoming a monster?" Qing Mian had expected something far more serious. This?

Fang Ming was already close to being a monster. It was a miracle he was alive, and he was worried about this?

"Yes, becoming a monster of unknown form." Zheng Zhu Liu nodded affirmatively.

"Let's see when Fang Ming comes out," Qing Mian said, not wanting to dwell on it. If Fang Ming could accept it, then these things wouldn't matter.

Two hours later.

"Bang!" A sudden explosion, and several sharp claws pierced the cultivation tank's walls before quickly retracting. Another forceful strike followed.

Large cracks appeared on the tank's surface, and the faint outline of a figure inside could be seen violently attacking it.

"It's Fang Ming!" Zheng Zhu Liu and Qing Mian's faces broke into smiles.

"Boom!" The entire cultivation tank exploded, splashing nutrient solution everywhere. Qing Mian quickly moved aside to dodge, while an invisible barrier appeared before Nannan. Only Zheng Zhu Liu was drenched, lamenting as he spat out the nutrient solution that had entered his mouth.

A tall figure slowly emerged from the shattered tank. He was at least five meters tall, with waist-length purple hair, two slightly curved horns atop his head, and fine scales covering his body. His muscles bulged, exuding explosive power. His arms were now two sharp claws, their tips reflecting a cold gleam. A tail nearly six meters long swished with each movement, creating sonic booms.

"Fang… Fang Ming?" Qing Mian asked tentatively.

"I'm… I'm still alive?" Fang Ming exclaimed in a hoarse voice. He clearly remembered being crushed to death by the guards, yet here he was, alive and feeling incredibly well.

"That's great, as long as you remember who you are," Qing Mian said, relieved. He had feared Fang Ming might have lost his memory like Nannan.

"What is this…" Fang Ming looked around, finally noticing something amiss. Why was his perspective so much higher? He quickly looked at his current body and felt as if struck by lightning.

What had happened to him? Why had he become this strange form?

"This is a side effect from saving you…" Zheng Zhu Liu explained cautiously.

"Side effect?" Fang Ming sighed. Why did he have to go through something like this every time he was revived? He had become a Fiend in Bai Mu Village, and now he had become this.

"Try to control your transformation. If you can manage the power within you well, you should be able to suppress it," Zheng Zhu Liu said. Of course, this was all based on his readings of the Professor's notes; he didn't know the specifics of how to operate it.

"Oh? Let me try." Fang Ming took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and began to sense the energy changes within him.

With his previous experience controlling resentment, Fang Ming quickly located the source of this power—his heart. Once he found the source, Fang Ming began to attempt to control its release.

Fang Ming's height began to gradually decrease, his skin tone shifted back to normal, the horns on his head receded, and his tail shrank until it disappeared.

In less than the time it takes to brew a cup of tea, Fang Ming had suppressed everything except his hair, returning to a normal human appearance, even his arms had become normal.

Fang Ming opened his eyes and examined his appearance, quite satisfied. The only drawback was that his hair wouldn't return to black; the sheer volume made it more troublesome to control than his entire body.

"Fang Ming…" Nannan called out suddenly upon seeing the familiar face.

"You are…?" Fang Ming was bewildered. Who was this woman who looked like an ice goddess? And was that a Fierce Fiend beneath her feet? Another person who used Fierce Fiends as mounts, the last one being Chang Sheng.

"She's Nannan," Qing Mian stated directly.

"Nannan? You're Nannan? How did you get so big? What happened?" Fang Ming was shocked. How had Nannan grown so much?

"Fang Ming… I thought you were dead… Wuwuwu…"

Memories from deep within his mind flooded back. The moment Fang Ming regained his original appearance, Nannan remembered everything and began to cry pitifully.

"There, there, don't cry," Fang Ming quickly walked over, concerned. However, it was awkward that Nannan was standing so high, and he couldn't reach her…
