Chapter 164 Feelings Warm Up

Her casually spoken words made Song Na's face turn ugly.

Leng Xunze remained silent, his gaze fixed on Wen Yan.

At this moment, he seemed to see her as he had when they first met, when Wen Yan had stood before him like a little fox baring its teeth.

Song Na thought for a moment and gave an awkward smile. "Miss Wen, you jest. I didn't mean anything else, I just wanted to tell Miss Wen that one should maintain distance from everyone, especially those at the pinnacle of the pyramid."

Wen Yan's tone was indifferent. "Doesn't Miss Song think she's being too nosy? Who I choose to be close to is my own business."

Her remark left Song Na speechless. She bit her lip and glared at Wen Yan, then turned to Leng Xunze. "Xunze, some people might have ulterior motives when approaching others. You need to be careful."

Leng Xunze's expression soured. He glanced at her. "Miss Song, didn't you say you were joining us to share a table? Why aren't you ordering?"

Wen Yan fell silent, observing the situation.

Song Na's face flushed with embarrassment. She chuckled. "Xunze, thank you for the reminder. Miss Wen and I were chatting so congenially that we forgot to order."

Wen Yan found Song Na quite resourceful at this moment.

Just then, a waiter brought the dishes. Song Na quickly ordered a signature dish, and the waiter, glancing at her, seemed perplexed.

It was clear they were three people dining together, so why would this lady order another dish?

The meal was filled with an awkward atmosphere.

Wen Yan decided she would never invite Leng Xunze to dinner again. Wherever Leng Xunze was, there was bound to be romantic entanglement.

An hour later.

The three finished their meal.

Wen Yan found an excuse to leave. "Young Master Leng, Miss Song, I have some urgent matters at my company, so I'll be leaving now."

Leng Xunze looked at her. "I'll take you."

Seeing Song Na's displeased expression, she politely refused. "No need, Young Master Leng. My studio isn't far from here. I'll be going now."

Saying this, before Leng Xunze could respond, she turned to the counter, paid the bill, and walked out of the restaurant.

Leng Xunze frowned as he watched Wen Yan hurry away. She had just left him.

Seeing Wen Yan depart, Song Na couldn't be happier. She said softly, "Xunze, if you have time this afternoon, shall we go shopping?"

That annoying woman was finally gone.

She wondered what method Wen Yan had used to get involved with Leng Xunze.

It seemed she needed to quickly secure Leng Xunze, otherwise, that woman would always be a rival.

Leng Xunze's tone was cold. "I have a meeting this afternoon."

As he stood up to go to the counter to pay, the cashier informed him that the lady who had left earlier had already settled the bill.

He acknowledged this and left the restaurant.

Seeing this, Song Na chased after him. "Xunze, my car needs to go for maintenance. Could you give me a ride?"

Leng Xunze's brow furrowed. "It's inconvenient."

Upon hearing this, Song Na bit her lip and watched Leng Xunze drive away, clenching her fists in anger.

She refused to believe that she, a distinguished young lady of the Song family, couldn't compete with a powerless young lady from the Wen family.

She had already investigated and found out that Wen Yan was the young lady of the Wen family, but merely an abandoned one, posing no threat.

The Wen family wasn't even considered a second-rate family in the capital, so she didn't need to worry about her.

I am the one most worthy of Leng Xunze.

At the hospital.

Bai Quan's injuries were gradually healing, and a hint of color had returned to her face.

She looked at Rong Beifeng, who was sleeping beside her, finding it hard to believe.

If it were before, Rong Beifeng would have wanted to stay as far away from her as possible.

Now, he was taking care of her day and night, sleeping soundly by her bedside.

Bai Quan felt thirsty and reached for the water cup on the cabinet. Rong Beifeng was startled awake and instinctively asked, "Are you feeling unwell?"

Bai Quan shook her head. "I want some water. I'm sorry I woke you."

Rong Beifeng heard her and handed her the cup from the bedside table. "Tell me if you want a cup."

Bai Quan took the cup and took a sip. "You should go back and rest for a while. I'll ask Yan Yan to come and keep me company."

Rong Beifeng's expression changed slightly. "Wen Yan is busy with her studio, she might not have time to come."

Bai Quan thought about it and dropped the idea. As she was about to bring up the divorce, Rong Beifeng spoke, "When you're better, come home with me to see the children."

Bai Quan's voice was calm. "I will go back. Aren't you afraid Sun Liyan will be angry if you stay here?"

Rong Beifeng detected a hint of sourness in her voice and replied, "What does it matter to me if she's angry or not?"

His relationship with the Sun family was purely a business collaboration.

Bai Quan understood. She continued, "I know about your relationship with Sun Liyan. You don't need to hide it from me. After you divorce me, you can be with her."

Every time the topic of divorce came up, she felt a pang of pain.

But as her heart was no longer invested in this man, the pain lessened.

Rong Beifeng frowned upon hearing this. "Bai Quan, don't mention divorce again. I don't agree to it."

"As for Sun Liyan, I've had various dealings with her, and nothing more."

Bai Quan looked at him, puzzled. "If we continue like this, aren't I holding you back?"

Rong Beifeng moved closer to her, a hint of coldness flashing in his eyes. "Bai Quan, this marriage isn't something you can enter into and then decide to leave. I don't agree."

Bai Quan knew that no matter what he said, it would be useless, so she wisely closed her mouth and lay down to rest.

Rong Beifeng noticed a hint of displeasure on her face and suddenly remembered something. "Bai Quan, you haven't been to your venture capital company for days. Shall I have my assistant manage it for you?"

Bai Quan didn't want to speak.

Seeing her silence, and recalling her mention of divorce, a nameless anger surged within Rong Beifeng.

Did she want to leave him that badly?

When he and Bai Quan had first married, he had thought about divorcing her constantly.

But after so much time had passed, that thought had gradually faded.

That was why he had been so resistant when Bai Quan proposed divorce.

Now that he had stopped bringing it up, she still harbored such thoughts.

In the afternoon.

Wen Yan finished her work early and took a taxi to the hospital.

Upon arriving at the ward, she saw Bai Quan resting in bed, and beside her, Rong Beifeng was leaning over, his head resting by Bai Quan's side.

Seeing this scene, Wen Yan felt it would be impolite to disturb them. Just as she was about to turn and leave, Bai Quan heard the movement and opened her eyes.

Seeing Wen Yan about to leave, she softly called out, "Yan Yan."

Wen Yan turned to look at her. "Bai Quan, I won't disturb you any longer."

"What are you talking about!" Bai Quan's expression changed.

She smiled. "Let Rong Beifeng sleep for now. He didn't even wake up when we spoke, he must be very tired."

Bai Quan nodded. "He didn't sleep a wink last night."

Wen Yan heard this and praised, "Not bad, he's showing some qualities of a husband. I'll come back when he has to leave for something."

Bai Quan agreed, "Alright."

Wen Yan chuckled softly and turned to leave. "Quan Quan, I think Rong Beifeng has been behaving very well recently."
