Feng Yan watched the retreating figure of the woman, a smile playing on his lips.
Wen Yan, such an interesting woman.
Just then, his phone suddenly rang.
Feng Yan snapped back to attention, pulled out his phone, and his gaze faded as he saw the contact name on the screen.
He walked out of the hall and answered the call.
Wen Yan and Bai Quan walked to the bar, and under the guidance of a waiter, they went upstairs and chose a private room.
She glanced at the bottles of red wine on the coffee table. Just as she was about to ask Bai Quan if she wanted a drink, Bai Quan quickly walked to the sofa, opened a bottle of red wine, poured it into two glasses, and looked up at Wen Yan, "Yan Yan, we're not going home tonight until we're drunk! Have a glass first."
Wen Yan walked closer, picked up her glass, and intended to join Bai Quan, "Okay."
Their glasses clinked, and they smiled at each other.
After a while, Bai Quan had had a few drinks. A blush spread across her face, and her eyes were hazy as she spoke about her relationship, "Yan Yan, I really don't know what he feels about me. Before, I felt he was very indifferent, but a few days ago, he broke up with Sun Liyan to help me."
"Besides that, I really don't feel he loves me at all. I've mentioned divorce to him several times, but he won't budge. I don't know what he's thinking."
As she spoke, her eyes misted over.
Wen Yan thought of what Rong Beifeng had done for Bai Quan at the hospital. She smiled and comforted her, "Quan Quan, have you ever thought that Rong Beifeng is just not good at expressing himself?"
She now felt that the reason Rong Beifeng was unwilling to divorce might be that he truly didn't want Bai Quan to leave.
Bai Quan chuckled lightly and was about to take another drink when Wen Yan quickly snatched the glass away, "Quan Quan, you just recovered, drinking so much will harm your body."
Bai Quan smiled, "Yan Yan, you're the best."
As they spoke, she was already quite drunk and within seconds, she slumped onto Wen Yan's shoulder.
Wen Yan hadn't drunk much. She tilted her head, looking at the tipsy Bai Quan, and sighed. It seemed she would have to take her home later.
Just as she stood up, supporting Bai Quan with one hand, Bai Quan's phone in her pocket began to ring.
She laid Bai Quan down on the sofa, took out her phone from Bai Quan's pocket, and with a hint of surprise at the illuminated screen, answered. Rong Beifeng's voice came through, "Where are you?"
"Bai Quan is drunk, I have her phone!" Wen Yan explained.
Rong Beifeng then asked, "Where are you?"
She gave him the address, and then she heard a rustling sound on the phone, "I'm coming over now."
Wen Yan nodded, hung up the phone, and looking at Bai Quan's drunken state, she shook her head. She felt her best friend was lost in a fog, completely unaware.
If Rong Beifeng didn't care about Bai Quan, he wouldn't be calling her best friend so late at night.
Wen Yan thought for a moment and decided to help her best friend.
She would tell Rong Beifeng about this when he arrived.
An hour later.
The private room door was suddenly opened. Wen Yan saw Rong Beifeng walk in, "Quan Quan is drunk, please take her home."
Rong Beifeng responded, his gaze fixed on the intoxicated Bai Quan on the sofa. He walked to the sofa, picked up the sleeping Bai Quan. The woman's body was soft, like she had no bones. The scent of alcohol wafted into his nostrils, and his eyes gradually deepened.
He had never seen Bai Quan drink before; in front of him, she always had a gentle and sensible demeanor.
In her daze, Bai Quan suddenly felt a familiar male presence enveloping her. She opened her eyes and looked at the man's blurry face, "Husband?"
Rong Beifeng looked down at her and said with satisfaction, "Yes, sleep. I'm here!" Then, he looked at Wen Yan and thanked her, "Thank you. It's hard to get a taxi right now, I'll give you a ride back too."
"No need, someone will pick me up later," Wen Yan smiled.
Rong Beifeng heard this and didn't insist, "Alright."
As he spoke, he was about to leave.
Wen Yan called out to him, "Mr. Rong, if you truly love Quan Quan, let her know your feelings. Otherwise, if Quan Quan never knows your feelings, she will leave you sooner or later."
Rong Beifeng paused, looked at the woman in his arms, and a softness flickered in his heart. He nodded, "Thank you, I know what to do."
Wen Yan hummed and followed Rong Beifeng out of the private room and the hall. She watched Rong Beifeng's car drive away, thinking, Quan Quan, you should soon be on the path to happiness.
She turned and sent a message to Leng Xunze: Husband, you don't need to pick me up, I'll take a taxi back myself.
She hadn't even finished one drink, so taking a taxi back should be fine.
As Wen Yan was thinking, Leng Xunze replied: Where are you, wife! Have you been drinking? I'll come pick you up.
Seeing the message, she raised an eyebrow and sent her location, typing: I haven't had many drinks, I can get back.
As soon as she sent it, she saw Leng Xunze send two words: Not safe. Wait for me.
Wen Yan's eyes twinkled with a smile, her heart filled with a deep sense of love: Okay.
An hour later.
Wen Yan and Leng Xunze returned to the rental apartment. Just as she was about to enter the bathroom, she heard Leng Xunze say, "You go take a shower first, I'll make you a hangover tea."
Wen Yan's lips curved. She turned and looked at the man's back, "Husband, you can make hangover tea?"
"There are tutorials online," Leng Xunze said, and then took out the ingredients for making hangover tea from the refrigerator.
Wen Yan walked into the kitchen. Leng Xunze glanced at her, "Wife, why aren't you showering?"
She took the ingredients from his hand, raised an eyebrow, "I'm really not drunk, I don't need it. It's a bit late, let's go back to sleep. We have to go to the company tomorrow."
Leng Xunze looked at her fair cheeks, stepped forward, and wrapped his arms around her waist, gazing at her alluring lips, "Wife, shall we have a deeper connection?"
Wen Yan looked up at the desire in the man's eyes and nodded, her face flushing, "Okay."
Considering they had broken up and gotten back together several times, and this man had always treated her well, she no longer hesitated.
Seeing Wen Yan nod, Leng Xunze's lips curved slightly. He lowered his head and kissed her lips.
Wen Yan closed her eyes, responding to the man's kiss.
The next morning.
A ray of morning light shone into the master bedroom through a gap in the curtains.
Wen Yan opened her eyes and saw Leng Xunze's handsome face. She smiled and got up, only to see their clothes scattered on the floor.
Her face flushed with embarrassment, imagining how wild last night had been.
Just as she was about to get out of bed, the pain from beneath her made her frown. Leng Xunze's voice came from behind her, "Wife, don't go to work this morning. What do you want to eat? I'll have it delivered."
Wen Yan turned and looked at him, "It's okay."
Leng Xunze hugged her waist, resting his head on her shoulder, his breath fanning her ear, "You lie down for a while, I'll make arrangements."
Wen Yan's heart trembled, and she agreed with a blush.
For the entire morning, Leng Xunze stayed at home with her, making her feel as if she were ill, but her heart was sweet.
After lunch, Leng Xunze looked at her and said, "We're going to see Mom later."
