Chapter 41 Night Club Ride

For a moment, she thought she was hallucinating.

A man in a custom-made black suit stood not far away, hands in his pockets, with President's special assistant Zuo An by his side.

The man wore a silver mask that covered most of his face, but it couldn't conceal his handsome features or the noble aura that commanded attention.

"Mr. Ye."

She turned and saw the man, her legs almost giving out.

When had he arrived?

"Is the design department using work hours for slacking off?" the man's deep voice was magnetic yet exceptionally cold.

"I just came out to wash my face," Wen Yan quickly explained.

Her freshly washed face was even more fair, making the dark circles under her eyes more pronounced.

The man's presence seemed to grow colder.

"Are you that sleepy?"

"I'm alright, maybe I haven't been sleeping well lately," Wen Yan whispered.

"Come with me."

The man dropped the three words and turned, leaving Wen Yan somewhat bewildered. Seeing him walk away, she immediately followed.

Underground parking lot.

In front of a luxurious Rolls-Royce, Zuo An opened the rear door first. Mr. Ye got into the car. He looked at Wen Yan and said respectfully, "Please get in, Miss Wen."

Wen Yan was confused but still got into the car.

The black interior was grand and luxurious.

The man casually crossed his long legs, arms folded, leaning back against the leather seat with his eyes closed.

His jawline beneath the mask was exceptionally smooth and proud.

Wen Yan tentatively asked, "Mr. Ye, did you need me for something?"

"Be quiet," his voice was faint.

Wen Yan dared not speak again.

Zuo An drove very smoothly, and coupled with the excellent performance of the Rolls-Royce, there was almost no sensation of movement inside the car. Seeing that Mr. Ye wasn't speaking, Wen Yan slowly leaned back against the seat. In the quiet atmosphere, drowsiness soon swept over her intensely.

Wen Yan fell asleep.

Mr. Ye, however, opened his eyes and took out his phone to look at it.

He wasn't sleepy at all, just resting his eyes briefly.

Suddenly, weight landed on his shoulder. Mr. Ye turned his head and saw the girl's head leaning against him.

Her face was serene, and she slept soundly.

His cold gaze slowly softened.

Was she that tired?

What had she been doing these past two days?

He watched for a while, then noticed a crystal-clear liquid starting to flow from the corner of her mouth. His eyes instantly froze, and the next second, he instinctively pushed her away. However, the girl smudged her lips, adjusted her position, and then continued to lean on his shoulder, successfully wiping her saliva onto his clothes.

Mr. Ye: "..."

Zuo An clearly saw this scene in the rearview mirror and immediately panicked.

Mr. Ye had severe潔癖 (germophobia/obsessive cleanliness). It was already remarkable that he tolerated someone leaning on him, and now Wen Yan had even wiped her saliva on his clothes. He feared that Mr. Ye would throw Wen Yan out in the next second.

Zuo An was somewhat distracted when he suddenly saw the car in front run a red light and quickly swerved.

Wen Yan was immediately thrown to the right.

The man's hand was quick, and he swiftly embraced the girl's waist, pulling her back into his arms. Wen Yan let out a soft moan, leaning against his chest, and soon fell asleep again.

His heart gradually relaxed.

He spoke to the front, "This month's bonus is halved!"

Zuo An did not dare to say more, "Yes."

Watching Mr. Ye hold her, letting Wen Yan lean against him on his lap as she slept, he felt a sense of disbelief.

Was this gentle person truly their Mr. Ye?

"Drive slower," the man spoke again.

Zuo An complied and reduced the speed.

Wen Yan slept for a long time. By the time they arrived, she was still asleep.

Mr. Ye gave no instructions.

Zuo An glanced back. The petite and soft girl leaned into the tall, upright man's embrace. The scene inexplicably had a strong couple vibe!

However, time was running out.

"Mr. Ye, we arranged to meet Mr. Wang at five o'clock. It's time now," Zuo An whispered.

Mr. Ye lowered his gaze to the girl in his arms and parted his lips slightly, "You go first."

"Alright."

Zuo An had no choice but to go down and meet the client first.

The two of them drank tea and chatted, and time gradually passed.

"Assistant Zuo, hasn't Mr. Ye arrived yet?" Mr. Wang was becoming anxious.

Zuo An was also anxious. Why hadn't Mr. Ye arrived yet?

"Mr. Ye had an urgent matter to attend to, which is why he sent me ahead. He should be here soon," Zuo An said.

He took out his phone, about to send a message to Mr. Ye.

The next second, the door opened.

The man's striking figure walked in, accompanied by a petite and delicate figure.

Wen Yan's expression was calm, with a faint smile.

Inside, however, she was panicking.

So Mr. Ye had brought her because the secretary had a last-minute issue, and she was to be a substitute. But she had accidentally fallen asleep in the car, and she didn't know how long she had slept...

"Mr. Ye is here," Mr. Wang said joyfully.

"Mr. Wang, it's a pleasure. Long time no see," Mr. Ye's voice was deep and cold.

Wen Yan also greeted Mr. Wang and then sat down next to Mr. Ye.

The dishes had already been served, their aroma filling the air. It was mealtime, and Wen Yan couldn't help but swallow.

"Mr. Wang, I apologize for being late due to a last-minute issue. I'll toast you," Mr. Ye picked up his wine glass. Mr. Wang immediately waved his hand, saying it was fine, and clinked glasses with him.

"I have nothing else to do today. It's enough that you're here. Try the dishes here; they're the most authentic. I come here to try them whenever I have free time," Mr. Wang said with a smile, a very down-to-earth person.

Wen Yan didn't know what a secretary did.

Seeing Mr. Wang's secretary pour wine for him, she poured wine for Mr. Ye.

The two began to eat and chat. It was evident that Mr. Wang greatly admired this junior, his words full of respect. Mr. Ye's occasional suggestions hit the mark with Mr. Wang.

After sitting for a while, Wen Yan felt her stomach starting to rumble.

Mr. Ye suddenly picked up a piece of pork rib and put it in her bowl. Seeing this, Wen Yan picked up her chopsticks and ate quietly.

Admittedly, the food at this restaurant was truly delicious.

Unlike other high-end restaurants that looked good but tasted bland.

However, the dishes in front of Wen Yan were all vegetarian. The meat dishes were on Mr. Ye's side, and she didn't feel comfortable reaching for them casually.

The man chatted with Mr. Wang while casually placing fresh shrimp and fish into her bowl.

It seemed insignificant.

But it was noticed by the other party's secretary.

Mr. Wang's secretary couldn't hide her envy and surprise.

Generally, bosses out for business dinners were there to discuss deals and wouldn't possibly attend to their secretaries' meals.

Mr. Ye, holding a high position, noble and cold, was unexpectedly so attentive to his secretary. She was truly envious. Unlike her, Mr. Wang's eyes were solely on Mr. Ye, and she didn't dare to casually pick up her chopsticks.

Dessert was also served after the meal.

Men generally had no interest in these things, and Mr. Wang didn't touch it.

Wen Yan's eyes lit up when she saw the small cake, and it was even Black Forest flavor.

However, her expression remained unchanged, and she inwardly wondered if she could eat it after the business talk was concluded.

"Mr. Wang doesn't like dessert either?" Mr. Ye asked casually.

Mr. Wang smiled, "Yes."

"Indeed, most women like this kind of thing," he said indifferently. His well-defined fingers picked up the cake and handed it to Wen Yan.

"Hahaha, that's right. I don't like overly sweet things at all. By the way, Mr. Ye, since everything is settled, shall we sign the contract shortly? I'll give you that five percent profit," Mr. Wang said, his heart aching slightly, but having such a good partner was rare.

Mr. Ye agreed.

They signed the contract.

Wen Yan had just finished her cake, her stomach pleasantly full.

The group walked to the restaurant entrance and parted ways.

"Full?" Mr. Ye glanced at her coldly.
