Chapter 168: Doing Something Wrong
In recent days, Hilla and Bruce commuted busily between the mansion and the Lakeshore Center.
Every day they had dinner with Tyree and Orlenna, and then drove back to Lakeshore Center to see Halle.
Halle’s body was getting heavier and heavier. That was a sign of childbirth. Hilla was busy in two places and felt even more tired than when she went to school and went to work.
Each day they asked the nanny to stay till they returned, but Hilla was still worried.
She had dinner at the mansion and left Orlenna in a hurry after only a few words.
Orlenna understood and brought a lot of nutritious food.
"Halle is about to give birth. Be sure to give her these during the postpartum break. Shall I get her a babysitter?"
Hilla nodded. "Thank you, mother. I have already got one. She’s in River City, and she can start work after Halle gives birth."
"Good. But it’s better to prepare another one. If one can’t make it, and there is a substitute. No matter the price, personality comes first when we select a babysitter."
Hilla smiled and nodded. If Orlenna didn’t talk about giving birth every time she came, Hilla was very willing to spend her time with Orlenna.
"It’s so late. You should go back. Pregnant women can’t stay up late. Let me know if you need anything. By the way, is the car ready?"
Orlenna was always more thoughtful than Hilla.
Hilla nodded. "It will get ready tomorrow. There are still a few days before the due day."
Looking at Hilla’s innocent face, Orlenna couldn’t help but chuckle. "Silly girl. Unlike signing a contract, the exact time of delivery cannot be determined."
"It could be a few days earlier or a few days later. Maybe in the morning, maybe at midnight. You have no experience, so remember Halle has to be accompanied at all times these days."
After Orlenna finished, Hilla frowned. She really hadn’t expected that giving birth would be like this. She thought that the baby would be born on the due day. It was not what she had thought.
If Orlenna hadn’t reminded her, she probably wouldn’t have realized this until Halle gave birth.
She thought there was only normal labor and premature labor, and those only unexpected things could lead to premature labor. As long as pregnant women were carefully taken care of, they would not give birth until the due date.
"Mother, I understand. I will go back to accompany my sister."
Hilla was a little anxious. Halle’s due date was less than ten days away, and Hilla couldn’t afford to be careless.
"By the way, don’t come over for the next two days. You can come back after Halle has the baby. Master Anderson will understand."
Hilla tried to say something. She could tell that Tyree was very weak now. However, he insisted on not going to the hospital. He’d rather die in the bed which belonged to his passed wife.
If he could have remained affectionate, how could their love end in betrayal? When Hilla saw Tyree, she felt distressed and could not help thinking of herself.
If Bruce were to do this to her later, reluctantly or accidentally betraying their marriage, would she, like Lynn, swallow her pride and die of grief?
Tyree’s story was a tragedy. Now he on the bed had a weak breath. Hilla could not help but hold Bruce’s hand tightly.
"Mother, I will take some time to come back."
Hilla didn’t promise Orlenna that she wouldn’t return until Halle gave birth.
It was necessary for her to take some time to visit Tyree when she was sure that Halle was in stable condition.
After all, he was old and needed someone to accompany him. Maybe he was alive one day and gone the next.
"Good girl, I know. I will tell Master Anderson. It is hot outside. Drive safe."
Orlenna couldn’t stand the heat, and soon she was sweating on her forehead and cheeks.
Hilla quickly followed Bruce into the car.
When they returned in the evening, Halle had already gone to bed early and the nanny was cleaning in the living room. She was relieved to see them back.
The nanny was old. Looking at Halle’s belly, she was really worried. She was so afraid she couldn’t take care of these noble girls here. If anything happened to Halle, she would be scared to death.
"I’ll get a maid tomorrow."
Bruce said. He was speaking to Hilla, but the nanny relaxed a little when she heard this.
It was good to have someone to help her and the pregnant Halle in this family.
"Will too many people disturb Halle’s rest?"
Hilla furrowed her brows in worry. Bruce smiled, "Just find hourly workers."
This was a good idea. When she was here, she did not need anyone. If they had hired a lot of people for her, it would be too awkward for her to live here.
"Sir, madam, I’ll be leaving!"
When the nanny saw them return, she quickly put down her things and left.
Bruce stepped forward and took the initiative to hold Hilla’s waist. He lowered his head and bit her earlobe. "Only us now."
"Only us? Halle is upstairs. Besides, she has one in her belly."
There were four people in this house and it was getting crowded. If they had children later, wouldn’t they be unable to live in the house with guests?
"She is sleeping upstairs, so we can do something downstairs..."
The arm around her waist tightened. Hilla groaned subconsciously and pushed him with a red face. "That’s enough. We agreed to do it twice a week. You already had an advance this week."
"It doesn’t matter. I can have another advance."
Bruce chuckled. He lowered his head and breathed on her face. His lips were bewitching as he gently rubbed against her ear. Hilla subconsciously shrank her neck.
It was so shameful. And they were still in the living room. Thinking that Halle would open the door and look down to see what was happening downstairs, Hilla quickly cleared her head and pushed Bruce away.
"You don’t have the right to advance. You are not allowed to come here again. I need to accompany my sister these days. You should... calm down!"
After Hilla finished, she left Bruce and rushed upstairs.
Bruce stood downstairs and blinked. Looking at the little figure fleeing in panic, he revealed a smile of satisfaction.
His wife was really attractive when she was shy!
Hilla quietly entered Halle’s room. She was afraid of disturbing Halle’s rest, but after entering, she found that Halle had not slept at all.
It was a good thing she refrained from doing something downstairs with Bruce. Otherwise, Halle would have heard it all!
"Halle, why haven’t you slept yet?"
Halle rubbed her temples and pondered for a long time before asking, "Do you know that Dr. Hutt beat Titus up in the hospital?"
...
Hilla leaned closer, not expecting Halle to suddenly ask her about Horton.
She thought that Halle wouldn’t know as long as she didn’t say it. Did Margaret say it?
"Halle, are you worried about Dr. Hutt?"
Hilla gazed at Halle, hoping to find some clues on her face.
Halle frowned slightly. "Dr. Hutt helped me. No matter what, I owe my family an apology if an outsider is involved in my affairs."
"I will solve Titus’s matter. Can you help me ask about Dr. Hutt tomorrow?"
Halle said it in a dignified manner, but Hilla couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows when she heard it. Why did she feel that it was a little fishy?
Was it true Halle didn’t care about Horton? She should at least be impressed that Horton had been cooking her chicken soup for days.
"Titus, that scum, he just had it coming. I wanted to do it myself, but I was too late."
"Whatever this man did to me is water under the bridge. He and I are divorced. There is no grudge or involvement between us. I will be stuck with... the Tyson family again."
Halle frowned, thinking of the message that Titus had sent her to the hospital just now. She felt a little annoyed.
She was not afraid of the Tyson family. She was just worried that her child would be involved. She was not alone now. She had a weakness.
If the Tyson family really hurt her child, she would risk everything to fight them. "Did the Tyson Family come to bother you again? Did they come?"
Hilla became nervous. Thinking of the Tyson Family, she suddenly got annoyed. Could it be that Halle couldn’t live in Lakeshore Center anymore?
Seeing that Hilla was nervous, Halle quickly held her hand and comforted her, "Don’t worry. This is the Anderson property. The Tysons, no matter how arrogant they are, don’t dare to come over and mess with Bruce. I’m just worried about you and..."
Knowing that it was Horton who sent Titus to the hospital, she already had a bad feeling.
Titus was not a generous man. In addition, the Tyson family was now in dire straits, and the entire family depended on Titus alone. If he was injured, Spring would not be an easy one to deal with.
She was worried that Horton would not be able to escape the entanglement of Spring and Titus.
After all, she was the reason Horton was in trouble, and Halle felt sorry.
"And what? Oh, yes, Horton. Halle, if you’re worried about Horton, just say it. Besides, we did get him in trouble, and if the hospital wants to punish him, I’ll talk to Bruce."
Bruce could at least help out a little. She actually felt that it was not good for them to owe Horton.
While Horton may have been fighting for justice, it was them who caused it. One must always have a conscience.
Halle frowned and didn’t argue with Hilla anymore. She only said, "Don’t tell Bruce. I don’t want to involve the Anderson family."
When she divorced, it was the lawyer the Andersons found for her. After helping her so much, she was so grateful to the Anderson family. Even if Hilla said that she lived well in the Anderson’s, she still felt uncomfortable.
Now that Titus suddenly came to remarry her and Horton got involved, she was already uneasy.
"Halle, don’t worry. I’ll go ask around tomorrow and see how Horton is doing. And how did you know about this?"
If it was really Margaret who said it, she would start an epic serious talk with her!
"Titus told me. He hoped that I could marry him again. He said that he would give me all the assets of the Tyson family."
Halle pursed her lips and spoke slowly.
Hearing this, Hilla was stunned for a moment, and then he couldn’t help but laugh sarcastically.
"The Tysons have any asserts left? I’m afraid it’s a bunch of debts!"
After saying that, she rolled her eyes. Only the shameless Tysons could say such words.
When did Halle ever covet the Tyson family’s money? When the Tyson family was rich, they relied on the Holt Corporation’s help every year. And now... Wasn’t it ridiculous to talk about property in a small company of less than a hundred people?
She wanted to throw the pocket money that Bruce gave her every month onto the Tysons’ face. No matter how poor they were, they were not going to beg from the Tyson family.
"Forget him, Halle. Titus is not worthy of you."
Even Halle was pregnant with someone else’s child, a scum like Titus would never be worthy of her.
Halle shook her head carelessly. "No matter how rich they are, what can they exchange with me? I just want to live a peaceful life now. When the child is born, I will build a studio or a factory in the countryside. You will design products for me and I will sell them all."
"We can live on our own. My child and I don’t want much."
"Are you sure you don’t think about Hor... Do you want to get married and give the child a complete family?"
Hilla didn’t finish Horton’s name. Maybe Halle didn’t like this man, but she was still thinking about remarrying.
"Didn’t I tell you? My baby and I are fine together. Do you think it’s too much pressure to help us?"
"Of course not. You are my sister, and this is my nephew."
Halle nodded with a smile. "Good. We can talk about the future later. What do you need to worry about now? Sleep. I’m a little tired today."
Hilla tucked her in, turned on the air conditioner, and lay flat on the bed.
There was always a small night lamp in the room, and the light was dim. When Hilla looked at the roof, she could not help but be lost in thought.
She was not Halle and she could not make the decision for Halle, but if she was really hurt, perhaps she wouldn’t want to continue the marriage.
At noon the next day, Hilla sent a message to Margaret, telling her about the conversation she had with Halle last night.
There was no response from Margaret for a long time. Hilla couldn’t help frowning. How late did Margaret stay up last night?
No wonder the Andersons kept her in check. She was too playful and wild.
If Bruce knew about what happened that day, Margaret would probably come crying to her again.
After thinking for a while, Hilla called Margaret.
The phone rang for a long time, but no one responded. When Hilla was about to hang up, someone picked it up.
She kept silent.
"Hello?"
Came a man’s voice!
Hilla was stunned for a moment. She grabbed the phone and put it on the sofa. Did she hear it wrong? Margaret’s cell phone was answered by a man.
She picked up the phone but that man hung up.
"A man. It was a man." Hilla thought in amazement, "Margaret, you are really good at making trouble!"
