Chapter 102: Putting Lord Cithron Down

Chapter 102: Putting Lord Cithron Down

"Sixth Gate!" Cithron yelled, as his Qi pressure spiked up even more, causing the ground beneath him to turn into a crater. The cloth covering his torso had torn into pieces under the pressure as his hair spiked up.

Cithron instantly lunged his clenched fist forward in an attempt to give Jarius a punch to his chest.

Jarius moved his hand towards Cithron and whispered "Times ten," which significantly increased the gravity around the Lord. This in fact stopped him in his tracks and further cratered the floor Cithron stood on, as a heavy force of gravity acted upon him.

Cithron grunted under the effects of the gravity as he continued the attempts to force his way through, although the gravity made his hand move a lot slower.

But this left a shock on Jarius’s face. Cithron being strong enough to even move within his gravity x10 spell was not what he’d expect from someone who didn’t use magic.

"Arrgh!!" Cithron yelled as it seemed as though he was becoming successful in pushing through.

But then Jarius only increased the effect of gravity around him even further. "Times twenty."

And that brought Cithron down to one knee. He struggled continuously to get back up but to no avail. Jarius’s gravity magic had been too strong for him to struggle against at this time.

Jarius walked closer to Cithron while still maintaining the spell. He stopped in his tracks, turned towards the other Rulers simply watching him, then laughed lightly for a second and added, "I know some of you here are waiting on any opportunity you can grasp at to make a move against the House of Crowley, to claim my throne..."

Then Jarius clenched his hand into a fist and swung it towards Cithron’s face. With his gravity magic’s enhancement to his arm to increase the weight and strength of his punch, he was able to decapitate Cithron.

The Lord’s head flew away to the other side of the throne room, and blood gushed outwards from his neck and spilled everywhere. Jarius didn’t mind letting it spill this time.

He said finally, "...but this is to remind you that not only will your attempts fail, you will suffer a fate just like this one."

The King’s words was practically a threat that carried every bit of certainty with it.

The Lords watching all had this grim look on their faces. None of them had expected this very outcome.

Oberon was the first to bow his head. "Your Grace..." he said, and then started making his way out of the throne room.

One by one they all bowed, greeted respectfully, and proceeded out of the throne room, except for Arnarra who had intentionally waited for the others to leave completely.

The Elven Queen walked in closer and said, "Your Grace, Elandria and I will continue to support the throne. But with all due respect, inviting a Lord under the guise of a feast for the purpose of killing him to set an example was not the wisest thing I’ve seen you do..."

Then she bowed and turned away to leave.

"Arnarra..." Jarius called out.

She stopped in her tracks and said, "I was hoping to maybe spend the rest of the day in Dragonhold, but after this display, I’ll be leaving for Elandria right away."

"I understand, but tell me how she’s doing at least," Jarius asked, with a sad expression on his face.

"She’s growing up quite well, full of energy and stubborn like her father," then she turned towards him slightly and smiled before bowing her head and taking her leave.

A little smile appeared on Jarius’s face as well as he watched the Elf Queen walk away.

None of the other Lords as well chose to stay the night at their designated quarters. They and their envoy got back into their carriages and horses and made their ways back to their Kingdoms.

About the same evening in Xathia, Aiden was currently going through his status window and current updates.

The system had made clearing the C-ranked dungeon from earlier today a side quest and had additionally given Aiden a special quest.

Clearing the Side Quest earned him 100,000 experience points, 10 stats points, and a new space skill, called Phasing.

The Phasing skill let him become intangible and with this, could also phase through objects, walls or structures.

The Special Quest earned him the same amount in experience points, 5 stats points, and no skill.

In the course of the battle at the dungeon, Aiden had copied one spell from Oliver’s usage of Chain Magic.

[Copied Technique: Homing Chains(C)]

They had fought off Beta-Arachnids, monsters that had the forms of giant looking spiders.

Aiden had only taken a brief glance at the spell in use, and unintentionally before moving his eyes away towards another target, so he never truly understood the spell’s usage.

Which was why he said this, "Show me the spell’s description," and the system responded accordingly.

[Technique Copied: Homing Chains → Host is able to create a weighted chain that can extend to very long lengths to pursue a target. It is strong enough to break through large rocks]

Oliver seemed like a skilled mage and was only hampered due to being in a guild where the seniors preyed on the entering ones.

Aiden shook his head at that thought and then decided to use the gathered experience points to rank up.

"Level up," Aiden said to the system.

[You have leveled up]

[You have gained +2 to all stats]

The required 409,600 XP required for ranking up had been deducted accordingly.

With 25 stats points available, he assigned 7 stats each to strength and intelligence, 6 stats to Agility, and 5 stats to endurance.

Strength: 75 → 82

Intelligence: 88 → 95

Agility: 63 → 69

Endurance: 60 → 65

He returned to his status window to take note of his dragon meter now at 14.4, before nodding.

After setting up his statistics, he stood from his room and left for the guild’s main room. They were about to have dinner before closing out for the night.

Per usual, he shared the seat with his team, and Laela sitting closest to him.

When they were both done, they left the guild wing together and went towards the Lover’s Oak. The tree they both seemed to love spending time under.

"So tonight, Aiden, I think it’s time I got to know the other sides of you just a little bit," Laela said whilst holding Aiden’s arms as they both walked towards the tree.
