Chapter 62 Daughter-in-law

"Manman, you go upstairs first. You can wash up or take a bath, whatever you like. I'll have Grandma come up later," Yan Cheng said to Wang Muman, seeing that she had slowly closed her eyes.

Wang Muman nodded. New quilts and sheets had been laid out upstairs. When Wang Muman saw the style, it was filled with girlishness, all pink. It was clearly a girl's room as Grandma envisioned. She sat on the bed, looking at her phone. He Lele was chatting with her, saying she should have called her to come along next time, as it wasn't good to be one short.

Wang Muman stood up again and looked at the floor-to-ceiling window. There were no city neon lights, likely some kind of crops. It was dark, and she couldn't see what they were. There was also a small river flowing into the distance.

"Manman, I'll help you get the water ready," Yan Cheng's grandmother said, knocking on the door.

Wang Muman opened the door and let Grandma in.

"Oh, Xiao Cheng actually chose this set of bedding. I remember buying it a long time ago."

"I thought Grandma had prepared it for me!" Wang Muman hadn't expected Yan Cheng to do everything.

"Xiao Cheng is very thoughtful towards you, but it's a bit too pink," Grandma squinted her eyes.

Grandma prepared the water and told Wang Muman how to distinguish between hot and cold water. That night, Wang Muman couldn't sleep at first, but then she slowly drifted off to sleep, having a good dream.

The next morning, her biological clock woke Wang Muman up very early. After washing up, she went downstairs and saw Grandma already cooking.

"Good morning, Grandma!" Wang Muman greeted her and set the bowls and chopsticks on the table.

"Good morning, Manman. Those two probably stayed up late. They'll wake up later. You're up very early. You should sleep in more when you're on vacation."

Wang Muman shook her head, "I couldn't sleep, so I got up." She sat at the table, watching Grandma serve the porridge and place some breakfast items on the table.

"Let's you and I eat first. We can tell them to heat it up themselves later. No need to wait." The two of them began to eat.

By the time they woke up, it was almost time for lunch. Zhou Mingyu even came out in his pajamas, his hair a mess. Yan Cheng came out normally, though his hair was a bit disheveled.

"Xiao Yu, tidy yourself up before coming out. Aren't you embarrassed? Your sister Manman is here," Yan Cheng's grandmother smoothed his hair.

Zhou Mingyu grunted and stumbled back. Yan Cheng sat down to eat. Seeing Wang Muman engrossed in her phone, he asked, "Manman, what are you looking at that's so interesting?"

As if she hadn't heard him, Wang Muman replied after a while, "A TV series, it's a remake of a novel I watched before. It's quite good."

Yan Cheng felt unfamiliar with this topic and lowered his head to eat breakfast. His phone suddenly rang. It was his mother calling to say she would be coming to Grandma's house for lunch.

"Fortunately, I bought a lot of groceries yesterday, otherwise we'd have to go buy more today," Yan Cheng's grandmother looked at the refrigerator and felt they could manage.

"Grandma, let me cook a few dishes," Yan Cheng said after finishing his meal. Thinking there would be more people, he worried about tiring Grandma, and he knew how to cook anyway.

Wang Muman, hearing unexpectedly that Auntie was coming for lunch, felt a little nervous. She watched TV but wasn't really paying attention, constantly thinking about how to face them.

Soon, Yan Cheng's parents arrived. Wang Muman saw them and they were stunned for a moment. She quickly called out, "Hello, Uncle and Auntie!"

Yan's father, who had looked serious, seemed to change his expression and said excitedly, "Hello, hello! Chengzi, is this... your daughter-in-law?" Yan Cheng was so startled that he sprayed out the water he was drinking.
