Chapter 366: A New Method of Attack

So far, several major problems had already been resolved thanks to the efforts of Xiao Yu and the scientists present. Now, the matter had progressed to its final step.

Xiao Yu had successfully created a small universe. The next area of research was how to reintegrate these separated small universes back into the main universe. As long as this method could be mastered, there would be no more technical obstacles preventing Xiao Yu from returning to the main universe.

Moreover, during this experiment, Xiao Yu had also keenly sensed another possibility, regarding new methods of attack using space weapons. He discovered that space weapons did not seem to possess only the space-cutting attack mode he had originally assumed.

The probe he had previously left in place had been separated, along with the space it occupied, from this small universe under the assault of Space Two. Now, it was drifting off to who knows where. But what if, instead of his own probe, it had been an enemy vessel that occupied that separated space?

What would happen then?

Xiao Yu understood that this type of attack would have no effect against Level 6 civilizations, since they had already mastered a considerable degree of space technology. Even if they were expelled from the main universe, they had their own ways to return. But what about civilizations below Level 6?

This was eternal exile, an unbreakable prison within the universe. Just imagining such a scenario made Xiao Yu feel a chill run down his spine.

It could be confirmed that there was a Four-Dimensional distance between the separated small universe and the main universe. Before reaching the level of a Level 6 civilization, it was simply impossible to move through a Four-Dimensional framework. And since they were enemies, Xiao Yu certainly wouldn’t be so kind as to leave a planet inside the separated space to serve as their travel rations.

“However, whether this method of attack is truly effective remains to be determined. It’s not that this tactic is unfeasible, but rather that it’s limited by output power. If I were to simply open a spatial rift, my attack range could reach over a thousand kilometers in length. But if I want to strip space away, I can only create a hollow sphere with a diameter of just ten meters. Still, it counts as a method of attack. Used as an unexpected tactic, it could prove quite effective.”

Xiao Yu quietly pondered for a moment and temporarily set the idea aside. Looking at the jubilant scientists, he said, “Alright, Senya, the experiment has proven your hypothesis correct. Now, we need to proceed to the next step. How do we reintegrate the separated space back into the main universe?”

“I already have some preliminary theories. According to our speculation, the reason our current small universe cannot merge with the main universe is due to the presence of Four-Dimensional kinetic energy. It’s similar to how a planet cannot fall into a star on its own. The only way to make a planet fall into a star is to apply an external force to decelerate it, allowing gravity to capture it, or apply a force directed toward the star to push it down. What are your thoughts on this?”

“I have some thoughts.” said Luka Three, standing up at that moment.

There was no doubt that Luka Three was exceptional, especially now when its position was being challenged by Senya. The honor and pride of being the Chief Scientist, along with the practical demands of the current situation, meant it had to take action to prove its capabilities. Xiao Yu held high expectations for this.

“Very well, go ahead.” Xiao Yu gestured.

“The small universe we are currently in is performing a circular motion around the main universe on the Four-Dimensional level. According to our hypothesis, it is precisely because of the existence of this kinetic energy that our small universe is unable to merge with the main universe. This leads to a further question, what is the source of the force that propels the small universe to move on the Four-Dimensional level?”

Luka Three spoke slowly, his tone steady and confident, giving off an air of composure. “Planets revolve around stars due to the conservation of angular momentum during the process when interstellar dust coalesces into celestial bodies. However, I don’t believe that small universes separated through space technology would inherently possess this kind of force. In other words, the force driving the small universe’s circular motion on the Four-Dimensional level is artificially imposed, it is not something it has from the outset.”

“The Trolor Civilization, through some means we have yet to master, imposed this Four-Dimensional kinetic energy on the small universe, causing it to perpetually orbit the main universe and making fusion impossible. Naturally, we can apply the same method to decelerate the small universe, counteract its Four-Dimensional movement, and cause it to remain within the main universe. Given the universe’s inherent ability to heal itself, it is certain that the small universe, once overlapping with the main universe, will be gradually absorbed by it. Once the two universes are merged, we will have returned from the small universe to the main universe.” Luka Three said.

This hypothesis was very reasonable and logically sound. Under the current circumstances, it was the most promising method. Although Xiao Yu still didn’t know how to achieve it.

“Very good. We’ve found a theoretical way to return to the main universe. Now the only issue left is how to implement it. But I do have a question.” Xiao Yu said after a brief moment of thought. “The Taihao Civilization from the Large Magellanic Cloud, based on what we know, I believe it is stronger than the Trolor Civilization. After all, it managed to trap the Neutron War Star for decades, trapped, not merely restrained, and it did so in a direct confrontation. Furthermore, the Taihao Civilization seems to specialize in spatial development and is partially Four-Dimensional in structure. So here’s the question, such a powerful entity still doesn’t possess the ability to move on the Four-Dimensional level, yet a comparatively weaker Trolor Civilization supposedly has the ability to accelerate a small universe in Four-Dimensional space? That doesn’t add up.”

“Perhaps it’s not like that.” Senya picked up where Xiao Yu left off and said, “Maybe we’ve once again fallen into a mental trap. Accelerating or decelerating a small universe in Four-Dimensional space might not be as difficult as we imagined. The Trolor Civilization left behind a message saying they found a way for a Level 4 civilization, in coordination with space weapons, to return to the main universe. That method likely isn’t too advanced, because clearly, if it were too advanced, a Level 4 civilization couldn’t have discovered it.”

“I see…” Xiao Yu fell silent, contemplating, trying to figure out what he might have overlooked.

“Well then, let me continue with my hypothesis.” Luka Three said, casting a light glance at Senya before continuing, “I believe that the force propelling the small universe in orbit around the main universe was imparted by the Trolor Civilization. That is to say, the small universe itself has no such force. And just now, we also created a small universe, yet we did not deliberately add any Four-Dimensional motion to it. That leads me to a prediction.”

“Based on the current data regarding the healing speed of space, I believe the small universe we created will not last long.” Luka Three said seriously. “I predict that, at most, within three days, the small universe we separated will return to this universe. It lacks sufficient force to sustain its drift.”

This was a very simple concept, like standing on the ground and throwing a stone into the sky. No matter how strong you are or how fast you throw it, as long as you’re still within the realm of human limitations, that stone is bound to fall back down. Content originally comes from N()

In Luka Three’s hypothesis, the separated small universe was like a stone thrown from the ground. Perhaps a thick haze had temporarily obscured its form, preventing those on the ground from seeing its shadow and causing communication to break off. But eventually, it would fall, and once it did, contact would be re-established.

Upon hearing this, something stirred within Xiao Yu.

“Yes, that’s right. Your hypothesis makes a lot of sense.” Xiao Yu said. “Then let’s wait three days. After three days, we’ll hold another meeting. I need to run some calculations on the spatial model and refine our theory. Meeting adjourned.”

After the meeting was adjourned, the attending scientists all stood and left the conference room. Their expressions varied, some were worried, some excited, some calm. Upon exiting, Senya quickly returned to his usual demeanor. At this moment, she was respectfully following beside Rodel, the Species Number Two leader, attentively listening to his instructions.

Xiao Yu let out a light sigh and turned back to immerse himself in his busy work.

This meeting had once again yielded highly important results, propelling Xiao Yu’s steps further forward. If Luka Three’s prediction turned out to be correct, then things would progress to the final step. Once a method was found to decelerate the small universe, all the problems would be resolved.

If the small universe really did return, then by analyzing the condition of the probe he had placed in that space, Xiao Yu would be able to gather a great deal of valuable data, such as the state of existence within the small universe and whether the fusion of the two universes would affect the matter inside the space.

Success was right in front of him. Victory was within reach. The only unknown was whether this final, most critical step would be just a shallow stream he could easily cross, or an uncrossable abyss. Xiao Yu didn’t know the answer, but he knew one thing, he had to do his part first. As long as there was even a sliver of hope, he had to give it his all. That way, even if the final outcome was failure, he would have no regrets.
