Chapter 6 Shopping

“Xixi, over here.”

After getting out of the taxi at Huajin Plaza, a familiar voice called out.

Qiu Xi turned her head and saw her three roommates waving at her.

They were quite conspicuous. Not only was Tang Tang a delicate beauty, but Ni Xue also exuded a cool, mature aura even when she was just standing there. And then there was Hua Linglong, who was already beautiful as a flower, and when dressed up after the holidays, her presence could be felt from afar, with passersby frequently glancing her way.

“Alright then,” Qiu Xi touched her forehead, she should have expected this.

But now she was about to join them.

“I’m here.”

The three looked at the girl dressed up, walking elegantly. Whether their eyes were playing tricks on them or not, they felt that with every step she took, she was incredibly beautiful.

“Little Xi, haven’t seen you in days, where did you go for further training?” Ni Xue teased first.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, where did this little beauty come from? Let this empress have a look,” Hua Linglong went up to greet her directly, pretending to do a twirl, truly a drama queen.

“Xixi, you’ve changed, you look so good.” As someone who believed in the supremacy of looks and was a bit of a fan of pretty faces, she absolutely adored this.

Although her features weren’t yet that refined, her entire demeanor had elevated her, making her look much better.

“Each of you has such sweet mouths, I’ll reward you with a look.”

The system was a secret that couldn't be revealed, so Qiu Xi could only joke it away.

“Forget it, the mouths are still the same, let’s go,” Ni Xue couldn’t really accept that statement, it sounded too much like Hua Linglong.

“Then let’s go, shall we go shopping first?” Hua Linglong loved to shop and buy things for herself, and she also loved to buy things for others when she shopped.

“Hehe, let’s go.” Little cutie Tang Tang, always so soft.

“Let’s go, let’s go.”

Finally, the main event began. The four linked hands and headed straight into the mall, ready to start shopping.

“Let’s go look at clothes first, I plan to buy a few new outfits for New Year’s.”

As she said this, Hua Linglong pulled them into their usual shop.

“How about this one?”

“And this?”

“Or this?”

Chit-chat, this is what women are like when they shop.

“I’m tired, let’s go to a milk tea shop to rest for a bit.”

Panting, Qiu Xi felt her legs were about to break.

It had been two to three hours, from clothes to shoes, to various makeup and skincare products, it was truly exhausting.

“Okay,” the other three agreed. They were indeed a bit tired and needed milk tea to recharge their energy.

“Later, I’m going to the bookstore to buy some books and practice questions, are you guys going?”

Although she had spent some of the money on the clothes, shoes, and cosmetics she had just bought, Qiu Xi had still been restrained. She hadn’t used any of the money meant for books and practice questions. One had to save for a rainy day.

Regarding Qiu Xi’s suggestion, the three of them could now accept it calmly. After all, they were checking in every day, prioritizing their studies, and even playing games less.

“Tang Tang and I are going to look around some more, so we won’t go to the bookstore with you.”

“Mm, then what about you, Little Snow?” Linglong and Tang Tang both came from good families, and their studies weren’t too bad. Moreover, they both had plans. Qiu Xi had nothing much to share.

“I’ll go with you, I need to buy something too.”

“Okay.”

Outside the bookstore

“Then I’m heading off.”

“Okay, bye~”

After browsing the bookstore with Ni Xue, Qiu Xi prepared to go home. Before getting into the car, she bought another cup of milk tea and some snacks to bring to Xiao Gezi.

“I’m back.”

“Sister, is this for me?” As soon as Xiao Ge saw the food in his sister’s hands, his eyes lit up. Delicious!

“Here,” Looking at her brother, Qiu Xi felt like laughing. He loved this, but he couldn’t eat it often, which made him crave it.

“Then I won’t be polite.” After saying that, he took it and started eating on the spot.

“Where’s Mom?”

“Mom said Dad is coming back tonight, so she went out to buy groceries.”

“Alright, then I’ll go upstairs first. You eat first, and eat quickly.”

“Mm, go ahead, go ahead.” Qiu Ge didn’t even look up, engrossed in his food.

“So tired.” After putting down the things, Qiu Xi collapsed directly onto the bed. She was truly exhausted.

Going out today had cost her more than half of her money. She only had a few hundred left in her pocket. Money really didn't last long; she needed to complete her tasks seriously and study hard.

“Alright, time to tidy up.”

Just as she finished summing up, Qiu Xi rolled off the bed, preparing to organize the items she had bought today.

In the evening, Qiu Dad returned, bringing Grandpa and Grandma with him.

Grandpa and Grandma preferred to stay in their old house in the alley, saying they had a bunch of old friends to keep them company and it was more comfortable.

They only came over with their parents during the New Year and holidays for family reunions.

“Grandpa, Grandma, we’ve all told you to move in with us, but you refuse.”

“Yes, Xiao Gezi misses you.”

“Oh, my good children, Grandpa and Grandma miss you too.”

In the living room sofa of the Qiu family, the two children surrounded the two elders, chatting and laughing, creating a very warm scene.

“Your Dad, in a couple of years, let’s renovate and rebuild Mom and Dad’s house, and move in together.”

“Okay, in a couple of years it should be fine, we can save some more.”

After getting married and buying this house, Qiu Dad hadn’t expected his parents not to move in with them.

But since they had already bought it, there wasn’t much money left, and the old house had never been renovated.

Things were different now. In another couple of years, they could save more. By then, Xiao Xi would be in university, and Xiao Gezi would be in high school. They could consider moving back then.

Renting out this house or keeping it for the children later would be good.

While the Qiu couple discussed matters reasonably, the four grandparents and grandchildren chatted cheerfully. Perhaps this was what family was all about.
