"Ran, are you coming in with me?"
Lin Ran: "I’d rather not. I’m not part of your company, so it wouldn’t be appropriate."
"But you’re my husband. Isn’t it normal for a husband to see what his wife does every day? Besides, how is the company not yours? If you want, I can hand over Luo Corporation to you right now."
Since the meeting might run long, and given that someone had just clashed with Lin Ran upstairs in the conference room, Luo Yao didn’t want him out of her sight.
Lin Ran shook his head. "No, I don’t want it. I just want you to take care of me."
A corporation that massive? Lin Ran didn’t think he had any right to overstep.
"But this meeting might take a while. I don’t want you waiting outside the whole time."
Truthfully, Luo Yao was also worried some clueless female employee might try to strike up a conversation with Lin Ran again.
"It’s fine, I think—"
Before he could finish, Luo Yao pulled him into the conference room. Walking toward the head seat, she declared, "I don’t care what you think. What I say goes."She planted Lin Ran in the chairman’s seat and had an extra chair brought for herself to sit beside him.
All the executives were stunned.
"Lin Ran will be observing today. Proceed with the meeting as usual."
No one objected to Lin Ran’s presence—everyone knew how much Luo Yao doted on him.
But this was the first time they’d seen the company’s chairperson sitting beside an observer.
Well, you’re the boss. Whatever you say.
The atmosphere in the room was tense. Department heads sat stiffly, awaiting Luo Yao’s directives.
Dressed in sharp professional attire, Luo Yao exuded authority. She lifted her chin slightly, scanning the room before her gaze finally settled on Lin Ran beside her.
Noticing how stiff he looked, like a student in class, she spoke up.
"Ran, relax. If you’re bored, just play on your phone."
Lin Ran scratched his head awkwardly, admitting he’d been a little tense.
"Alright, I’ll listen to you. I won’t disrupt the meeting, will I?"
The executives all shook their heads in unison—of course not.
This was Luo Yao’s beloved. Who would dare complain?
So Lin Ran lowered his head and started scrolling through his phone, careful not to make noise and interrupt the proceedings.
Liu Meng kicked off the meeting, and the executives summarized key issues in the most concise terms.
Luo Yao barely hesitated before issuing directives one after another. For decisions requiring input, she called for votes—but regardless of the outcome, she did exactly as she pleased. The meeting ran with terrifying efficiency.
Meanwhile, Lin Ran, after staring at his phone for a while, felt his neck stiffen. He glanced up and spotted a laptop in front of him. Without thinking, he opened it and started browsing the web.
He peeked at Luo Yao—the meeting was still in full swing—so he quietly surfed, reading news and looking things up.
As time passed, his searches grew more specific.
[How to keep my wife happy all the time?]
[100 ways to love your wife.]
After a while, he logged into a Q&A site under his account.
["Yao" Never Stops: "Hey guys, my wife talks a lot during meetings. What kind of soup can I make to soothe her throat?"]

[Crayon Uncle: "Pear and rock sugar soup, my dude. Or just tell her boss to lighten her workload—problem solved."]
["Yao" Never Stops: "My sweet wife is the boss. She works so hard to support me—pear soup isn’t good enough for her!"]
[Crayon Uncle: "Bro, stop flexing on us, damn."]
What the hell? Why the sudden insult?
Before Lin Ran could reply, another comment popped up.
[I’m an Idiot, So What?: "‘Sweet wife’? A CEO? What brand of trash bag are you, packing this much nonsense? You’re a freaking moron."]
Lin Ran: ??? You wanna fight?
["Yao" Never Stops: "@Crayon Uncle: Can’t flex on your mom—your dad might object."]
He switched to the mobile version of the app, pulled up his chat history with his wife, and screenshotted the countless transfers she’d sent him (all labeled "Wife").
["Yao" Never Stops: "@I’m an Idiot, So What? [Image][Image] You really do live up to your name."]
Another reply appeared:
[Zu’an Madman Still Here: "Just use your little ‘officer’ to moisturize her throat."]
["Yao" Never Stops: "@Zu’an Madman Still Here, @I’m an Idiot, So What? You two should take a photo together. My treat—perfect for a pair of dumbasses."]
Just as Lin Ran was deep in the argument, a new challenger arrived.
[Fake Sweet Potato, Real Tapioca: "Watching you guys argue is hilarious. But let me say this—this guy’s clearly a rookie boyfriend. Give it time, and he won’t ask these questions anymore. Love turns into a pile of petty nonsense. Cheating husbands, unfaithful wives—it’s all a joke in the end."]
["Yao" Never Stops: "@Fake Sweet Potato, Real Tapioca: You’re a maggot in a toilet—everything looks like shit to you. I’m pure love, got it?"]
[Fake Sweet Potato, Real Tapioca: "@‘Yao’ Never Stops: Stop the cap. You’re like a rabid dog biting at everything. Swear on it—lightning-strike level."]
["Yao" Never Stops: "@Fake Sweet Potato, Real Tapioca: I do have a disease—‘Wife Addiction.’ Symptoms: obsessively loving my wife. No cure, don’t want one. As for lightning? Nah, I’ll hit you with something worse: I swear, if I so much as glance at another woman, my whole family gets hit by a truck."]
[Fake Sweet Potato, Real Tapioca: "Damn, bro. You win."]
Lin Ran smirked. Think you can out-insult me?
Just as he was basking in his victory, he noticed the meeting room had gone quiet. He assumed it was over—until he felt a hand brush his leg.
He looked up to find Luo Yao gazing at him with deep affection.
??? What’s happening?
Confused, Lin Ran blinked as Luo Yao’s lips curved into a smile.
She suddenly announced, "Meeting adjourned."
The executives exchanged glances, then lowered their heads.
Well, they’d just been force-fed the world’s biggest helping of dog food.
That said, Lin Ran’s roasting skills were impressive.
And that oath? Legendary.
Still clueless, Lin Ran glanced around until Liu Meng pointed behind him.
He turned—and froze.
On the projector screen:
[@"Fake Sweet Potato, Real Tapioca: I do have a disease—‘Wife Addiction’…!@#$%… I swear, if I so much as glance at another woman, my whole family gets hit by a truck."]
......Cue the sound of crickets.
Even someone as thick-skinned as Lin Ran flushed instantly, thinking, "This is way too awkward. Could it somehow tarnish Luo Yao's reputation?"
