Chapter 453 Holding Hostage

The floor manager’s words were naturally believed by Fo Ye, but without knowing the background of these people, he dared not act rashly.

Ah Feng, however, looked at the floor manager with a cold sneer. “This is your territory, so of course you can spout nonsense. I’ll ask you, did you call an ambulance? Did you ask us for two hundred thousand to settle this? Did you initiate the fight?”

More and more guests were gathering. Ah Feng wanted to establish their side as the victim first. If the police suddenly rushed in, there would be room to maneuver.

As the floor manager was about to argue, Ah Yun, standing beside him, waved her hand. “Stop talking. Let’s check on the poisoned guests first.”

Seeing Ah Yun about to approach the poisoned individuals, Fo Ye quickly stopped him. “Ah Yun, don’t move. I’ll go take a look.”

The four bodyguards immediately lined up, blocking Ah Feng and his group, allowing Fo Ye to check the condition of the poisoned guests.

Yang Jian, who was slumped on the sofa, was utterly shocked. He recognized the woman’s voice as belonging to Meng Meiyun, his old classmate with whom he had eaten seafood just a few days ago.

Could it be such a coincidence? Was Meng Meiyun’s husband Fo Ye? If so, the age difference was too great.

What should he do? Yang Jian had originally planned to feign poisoning to get close to Fo Ye, launch a surprise attack to cripple him, and then rush out of the nightclub with Ah Feng and the others.

Meng Meiyun’s appearance made Yang Jian hesitate. Although he didn’t have a deep friendship with Meng Meiyun, she was a classmate he had known for three years. Moreover, Meng Meiyun was a good person; she had proactively offered to help him find a job and even offered him a position as her assistant.

This camaraderie from their school days, coupled with a past innocent crush, was incredibly precious to Yang Jian, who had been abandoned by his lover and was now on the run.

If he crippled her husband, wouldn’t she be left a widow?

Seeing Ah Feng and the other two standing about four meters away, with four bodyguards between them, Fo Ye finally walked towards Yang Jian.

There was no time to think. Yang Jian felt Fo Ye approach him. He opened his eyes and saw that Fo Ye’s crotch was less than fifty centimeters from his knee.

With a sudden bend of his leg, his knee struck Fo Ye’s groin. Before Fo Ye could cry out, Yang Jian stood up and delivered an elbow strike to his head.

As Fo Ye cried out in pain, his body toppled to the ground. Yang Jian sidestepped, wrapped his right arm around Fo Ye’s neck, and used Fo Ye’s body as a shield.

This sudden turn of events caught everyone off guard. By the time the four bodyguards turned around, Fo Ye was already under Yang Jian’s control.

“Don’t move, or I’ll break his neck.”

Seeing the four bodyguards preparing to act, Yang Jian placed his left hand on Fo Ye’s bald head.

The four bodyguards were clearly trained fighters. They knew that this move was dangerous and could indeed break Fo Ye’s neck in an instant.

Fo Ye’s face turned red from being choked, and he kept waving his hands, clearly signaling his subordinates not to make a move.

Meng Meiyun was terrified, staring at Yang Jian with wide eyes. The voice sounded so familiar. Although the person was speaking Mandarin, it was laced with a strong Xinhe dialect, making her suspect it was her old classmate Yang Jian.

But the person had a full beard and looked to be in his thirties, which was vastly different from Yang Jian’s age.

While everyone was momentarily stunned, Ah Feng and the other two suddenly attacked, drawing their extendable batons and lunging at the four bodyguards.

“Be careful.”

The floor manager standing at a distance exclaimed.

The four bodyguards quickly turned, but it was too late. Ah Feng and the other two executed a simultaneous forward roll, their batons striking the bodyguards’ knees.

Ah Feng attacked the two men in the center, hitting their left and right feet simultaneously.

Ah Nan and Jun Jun dealt with the two bodyguards on the sides, achieving the desired effect.

The massive bodies of the four bodyguards nearly collapsed. These were Fo Ye’s strongest fighters, and they were instantly taken down.

The默契 (mòqì - tacit understanding) and formidable attack power of Ah Feng and his two companions stunned everyone. The outer security guards dared not move.

Among the onlookers, someone even applauded. “Holy crap, that move was insane! I always thought fight scenes on TV were fake, but it turns out there’s really this kind of fierce martial arts in reality.”

“Ah Feng, open the main door. We’re taking him with us.”

Yang Jian glanced at Meng Meiyun. He couldn’t bring himself to cripple Fo Ye in front of her, so he decided to take him away first.

Ah Feng nodded and patted Ah Nan. The two of them rushed towards the main door.

Jun Jun guarded Yang Jian’s side, assisting him in slowly dragging the overweight Fo Ye towards the exit. Fo Ye’s sheer bulk made it difficult for him to move quickly.

“Stop them! Notify our men outside to come reinforce. We can’t let them leave Phoenix Street.”

Meng Meiyun finally snapped back to reality and quickly issued instructions to the floor manager.

The floor manager immediately took out his walkie-talkie to make a call, but the security guards were too afraid to intercept Ah Feng and his group, watching them open the main door.

“You useless bunch, all of you, go! Rescue Fo Ye!”

Meng Meiyun, as if driven mad, charged forward, trying to pull Fo Ye away from Yang Jian.

Jun Jun swung his extendable baton, ready to strike, but Yang Jian shouted, “Jun Jun, don’t hit her.”

Jun Jun forcefully retracted his right hand, looked at Yang Jian with confusion, and then became vigilant against attacks from others.

The security guards still didn’t dare to move. These people were too ruthless. Their attacks always targeted the knuckles and knee joints, resulting in broken hands or legs. Going forward meant getting injured, not to mention Fo Ye was still in their hands.

Without Fo Ye’s command, they wouldn’t dare to act rashly.

Meng Meiyun, however, was undeterred. She frantically tugged at Yang Jian’s arm, but her strength was too little. Yang Jian ignored her and walked out the door, dragging Fo Ye.

Fo Ye, choked and unable to speak, could only wave his hands at Meng Meiyun, signaling her to retreat.

As Yang Jian and his group just stepped out the door, they saw many people rush out from the bar opposite and the entertainment club next door, armed with machetes, wooden clubs, and other weapons. There were at least twenty people.

Meng Meiyun saw that it was their reinforcements from the perimeter and quickly shouted, “Come quickly! Fo Ye has been taken hostage by them!”

The security guards from the Blueberry Nightclub also came out. Seeing the reinforcements arrive, they were about to make a move when a large group of people, about forty to fifty, emerged from several vans parked across the street.

These individuals were all carrying wooden clubs and steel forks, with white towels wrapped around their right arms, clearly for identification purposes to prevent friendly fire during the brawl.

“Let’s go! Take them down!”

The leader was none other than Fang Zhicheng himself. After shouting into his walkie-talkie, he grabbed a machete and charged towards the opposing group.

In a group fight, numbers were an advantage. Fo Ye’s side was clearly unprepared. These reinforcements were the closest, having rushed over immediately after receiving the notification. Not only were they outnumbered, but they were also disorganized. They were quickly routed by Fang Zhicheng’s concentrated force and scattered in all directions.

Those who were further away and rushing towards them didn’t expect two more groups to emerge from both ends of Phoenix Street, encircling and attacking them.

Ah Feng had already driven the car to Yang Jian’s side. Ah Nan opened the car door, assisting Yang Jian in pushing Fo Ye into the vehicle.

Meng Meiyun, however, clung to Fo Ye’s arm, refusing to let go.

“Jun, pull her away.”

Yang Jian couldn’t bear to look into Meng Meiyun’s eyes. He just wanted to get Fo Ye out quickly. They couldn’t stay in this place any longer.
