Chapter 94 The Coronation

The gods on the sacred mountain tensed, their gasps of alarm rising frequently for the perilous situation of the two deities.

It was predictable that such a standoff would continue for some time, and Tyche couldn't help but feel annoyed. The bodies of the Titans were incredibly resilient, and the power of lightning might not be able to inflict fatal damage on the God of Growth. While the attention of all the gods was captivated by the battle that would decide the succession of the divine kingship, the goddess quietly departed from the sacred mountain.

Veiled by the mist, Tyche opened a portal and arrived in the abyss.

The Cyclopes were warming themselves by the fire, startled by the sudden appearance of the goddess. When the three brothers saw that the visitor was the kind goddess of fate from before, they cried out in surprise. The eldest, Arges, asked with a trembling voice, "Honored goddess of fate, have you come to release us?"

With time pressing, Tyche could not afford to explain further. "Two deities are vying for the position of divine king, and one of them is my son. I can guarantee you on his behalf that if you forge a powerful and sharp weapon for him to win this war, he will exchange you from the abyss with the loser!"

The simple-minded Cyclopes could not provide much emotional power to the abyss. If not for the rule that new life was needed to exchange prisoners from the abyss, Tyche would have released them long ago.

It was likely that Tartarus would be pleased if Tyche exchanged the Cyclopes with the defeated combatants; the abyss would grant this much face.

The Cyclopes first cheered for a long while, and then immediately began forging a weapon for Zeus under Tyche's instruction.

The flames of the sun calcined the divine essence of the sky separated by Tyche. The divine duty of the sky already contained the power of space, which was why Tyche could open the portal.

Through the efforts of these skilled artisans, an unhealable spatial rift was born from the flames. This weapon possessed the immense power to tear apart everything, and it would absolutely be able to pierce the formidable body of the Titan.

After parting ways with these simple giants, Tyche quickly returned to the battlefield on the sacred mountain.

The standoff between Zeus and Krios continued. During Tyche's absence, the God of Thunder had launched several attacks, but unfortunately, with little effect. Krios's life-giving divine power quickly healed the wounds. Although his clothes were tattered, his strength did not wane, and various plants continued to grow wildly, hindering Zeus's movements.

In contrast, Zeus, trapped by the surrounding plants, had to use lightning to destroy them. The continuous depletion of his divine power caused the resolute face of the God of Thunder to begin to pale slightly.

The decision of the God of Thunder was not wrong. If he could not find an opportunity for a killing blow, Krios would likely wear him down to death.

Zeus once again threw his lightning, piercing the shoulder of the God of Growth. Krios continued to dodge in a disheveled manner, waving his scepter to make the earth sprout more vines and trees to block Zeus. By the time Zeus broke through the entanglement of the plants and saw Krios again, the wound on the shoulder of the God of Growth was almost completely healed.

Zeus continued to gather lightning, suddenly discovering that along with the lightning, an invisible weapon also fell from the sky. It was wrapped in lightning, concealing its only trace.

Glancing back at his mother on the sacred mountain, Tyche nodded with a smile. Zeus naturally understood. He approached the God of Growth without revealing anything. Krios still waved his scepter, causing tall trees to grow in front of him, and fled into the distance.

This back-and-forth had happened many times before, and the God of Growth did not expect this time to be any different. Unexpectedly, the trees blocking Zeus's path suddenly split with a clean break, and Zeus, enveloped by thunder, shot out like lightning!

Caught off guard, Krios could only wrap his divine power around his scepter and hold it in front of him, hoping to buy himself time.

The scepter, symbolizing glory, was split into two pieces the next second. Also gone from Krios was his right hand. Golden divine blood splattered out, and Zeus, who was close by, was inevitably stained with blood.

Ignoring the intense pain from his arm, the God of Growth lowered his head to dodge Zeus's next strike. Pain and fear stimulated Krios, and the God of Growth's erupted divine power pushed Zeus away. Gaining a moment of respite, Krios shot far away.

When Zeus firmly landed on the ground, the疯长 plants had already made him lose track of Krios.

Tyche's heart settled. Zeus's opportunity would soon appear again. The situation had reversed; Krios could no longer engage in a war of attrition with the God of Thunder. If he made even one mistake that Zeus seized upon, he would be killed without mercy! The God of Growth, unable to counterattack, was at the end of his rope!

As Tyche had predicted, when Zeus pierced Krios's chest with the spatial rift and pinned him to the peak, the outcome was decided.

The God of Thunder reached into Krios's divine fire and retrieved his divinity. This divinity, possessing divine duties related to life such as growth, resurrection, and healing, was seized by Zeus. Zeus, who now possessed the divine essence of life, fused with it without any hindrance.

Amidst the silence of the gods, the laws delivered the divine king's regalia into Zeus's hand. Mount Othrys trembled and let out a mournful cry. The white radiance belonging to thunder gradually encroached upon the sacred mountain, and the temporal power symbolizing the previous era quietly dissipated as the world crowned the new divine king.

The residual life force allowed Krios to survive. For the sake of the Star Gods and the Goddess of the Night, Zeus did not pursue him relentlessly.

The God of the Starry Sky, Astraeus, and the God of War and Destruction, Phorcys, who had hurried over, helped their father up. Krios, having lost all his divine duties, was weak and could barely stand with the support of his sons.

Zeus, returning in triumph, was warmly welcomed by the gods. Tyche wiped the blood from her son's face and proudly pushed Zeus onto the throne of the divine king.

The defeated ones' faces were pale, and they had already foreseen their tragic future.

Tyche moved away from her son, who was surrounded by admirers, and approached the Goddess of Radiance, Theia. The God of Light and the Goddess of Radiance were not as panicked as the lesser deities. Ensnared by Gaia, they were still inviolable and powerful deities even after losing their principal divine positions.

Theia and Hyperion did not offer any explanation to Tyche, merely placing down the scepters symbolizing the principal gods with a look of resignation.

"Tyche, please do not be angry with my children; they should not bear the consequences of all this," Theia said, handing the scepter to Tyche. "We will retire like your mother Tethys."

Under the worried gaze of Canna, Tyche nodded and took the scepter. "Why do you still obey Gaia's commands? Are the insults suffered by the Goddess of Memory not enough to serve as a warning to you?"
