Chapter 79 The Aftermath

The Ocean Goddess Tethys had Electra keep company with her sisters, whom she had not seen in a long time, while she and her husband returned to the periphery of the lonely world.

Tyche, the leader of the Ocean Goddesses, concealed the actions of the goddess of love and gently appeased her sisters, "The arrogant Aphrodite disobeyed the will of the Queen of the Gods, and Rhea has punished her by forbidding her from returning to Mount Othrys from now on."

The Ocean Goddesses murmured amongst themselves, all surprised by the severe punishment meted out by the Queen of the Gods.

Tyche continued, "I have already stripped Aphrodite of her status as an Ocean Goddess, and from now on, nothing she does can be blamed on the gods of the sea."

The sisters, believing Tyche's judgment to be well-founded, soon forgot about the goddess of love and surrounded Electra, whom they had not seen in a long time, offering her comfort and care as a homeless sister.

Tyche took the opportunity to leave the temple and called her sons to the sea.

The mud and sand deposited in the sea had been stirred up by the turbulent currents due to the battle between two powerful deities. Although Tethys and Kyanos quickly calmed the tsunami and whirlpools, the seawater in many areas still retained a dim, dark blue hue.

Tyche did not tell her sons about her role in the upheaval. The goddess calmly narrated the events from a bystander's perspective.

Zeus pondered for a moment, then immediately fixed his gaze on his mother, who appeared to be unaffected. To the God of Thunder, there were too many suspicious points in this matter, making it difficult not to believe that his formidable mother had not intervened.

"Is Aphrodite truly the daughter of Prince Pontus?"

Zeus, naturally, did not directly ask his mother about her role in this incident. Instead, he changed the subject and inquired about the ambiguous and elusive relationship between the primordial sea god and the goddess of love.

After careful consideration, Tyche decided to reveal some of the truth to her gifted son.

"All the gods know that Aphrodite was born from Uranus's lost phallic symbol and was conceived in the embrace of the primordial sea god."

"However, this goddess's original divine nature belongs neither to the sky nor the sea, but to love and beauty, which are unrelated to both. You must know that this is the power controlled by Eros, the primordial god of love. Just as the earth has always been held in Gaia's hands, no deity can tear their authority from the primordial gods."

"Asteria and Leto's portion of the night power was a gift from Nyx. The Goddess of Night only wished to accompany her husband and did not want to fulfill her divine duties away from Erebos. Therefore, she chose the two sisters who inherited Coeus's dark divinity to perform her duties in her stead."

The God of Thunder nodded thoughtfully, "So, the birth of this Princess Aphrodite had the hand of the primordial god of love in it."

"Then, Mother, what is your purpose?"

Tyche was not surprised that Zeus had thought of these things. She waved her hand, conjuring a mist that concealed the three deities on the sea's surface. Like Tethys of old, the goddess narrated the mysteries of the world's creation to her sons. The appearance of the five primordial gods and the succession of the king of the gods were all clear to Tyche, who held the divine office of history.

When Zeus heard that Cronus had obtained the position of king of the gods by defeating Uranus, he could not help but ask his mother, "Is the divinity of the king of the gods plundered by the victor?"

"Not exactly," Tyche replied with a light laugh and a shake of her head. "The Sky God Uranus became the first king of the gods with the help of the Earth Goddess."

"And Cronus became the second king of the gods, largely due to the recognition of the Titans."

Tyche looked at her younger son, who had already understood, "The right to rule is recognized by the laws because the gods obey from the heart."

"Power comes from below, and the obedience of inferiors is the cornerstone of power!" The God of Thunder understood his mother's hint. "I know what to do."

The goddess smiled and remained silent. Many people knew the principle that those who gain the Way have much assistance, while those who lose the Way have little, but few could practice it.

Tyche then turned her gaze to her elder son. His independent life had truly settled Kyanos, and it was evident that the God of Calamities had genuinely reflected on his actions.

The goddess gently embraced her sons, who were now taller than herself, and bid them a soft farewell before returning to the Invisible Island.

Before she could enter the mist, a shooting star descended from the sky and blocked her path home.

Asteria, emerging from the starlight, had an excited smile on her face. She eagerly grabbed her friend's hand, looking as if she could not contain her desire to share gossip with Tyche.

The two goddesses sat by the pool. The Goddess of Starry Night impatiently described the embarrassed state of Aphrodite, being dragged out of the temple by Rhea by her hair, laughing uncontrollably as she spoke.

"The temple of the goddess of love and the rose garden on the divine mountain have been ordered to be destroyed by the Queen of the Gods. The news that Rhea has forbidden Aphrodite from returning to the divine mountain can no longer be kept secret."

"This goddess of love can now only wander the earth with nowhere to go. Fortunately, she still retains her title as a primary deity. Those gods who still harbor ill intentions fear that the primary deities will secretly protect Aphrodite out of a desire to maintain their dignity, and they dare not force her will."

Tyche did not pity the arrogant goddess of love. Eros would protect the precious mother body from harm. If anyone thought that Aphrodite, without protection, could do as she pleased, their fate would surely not be pleasant.

Seeing that her friend seemed uninterested, the Goddess of Starry Night, having satisfied her desire to share, prepared to leave.

Tyche quickly stopped Asteria, "How is Hecate now? What are her plans after successfully advancing to intermediate divinity?"

The Goddess of Starry Night, who had already stood up, sat back down and sighed, "She successfully advanced to intermediate divinity shortly before Zeus. However, her domain of fate has made no progress, and she has not been favored with the divine office of prayer."

Tyche put down her golden goblet and suggested, "How about letting her study with me for a while? Hecate's hope of obtaining the divine office of prayer may lie in the divine office of curse that she already possesses."

The Goddess of Starry Night was naturally at ease with her daughter receiving Tyche's guidance. Hearing her friend proactively offer to guide her daughter in condensing the divine office of prayer, she was overjoyed and immediately returned to the heavens to bring her daughter.

The swift Asteria soon arrived at the Invisible Island again. Hecate's arrival was welcomed by the handmaidens. Philura, to thank the goddess of witchcraft for her previous message, led the nymphs in presenting her with a sumptuous banquet.

The goddesses of vengeance, who had successfully advanced to minor divinity, accompanied them at the feast. The four goddesses, whose divine power domains were similar, felt a good impression of each other, which made the unsociable Hecate finally speak to the goddesses of vengeance.

Tyche also presented Hecate with a belated gift for her advancement to intermediate divinity.

The goddess smiled and spread out the golden fleece, which shone with magical radiance, in her hand. She explained to the goddess of witchcraft, who looked on in amazement, "I have imbued it with an interesting magic that can fulfill wishes within a certain limit. I hope it can bring you inspiration for obtaining the divine office of prayer."
